On page 9 of the linked pdf document shows what the French Finance Committee Chair, Eric Woerth, had to say about DeepOnion in a report to the French National Assembly on 30th of January 2019.

It would also have been appropriate to propose the prohibition of the dissemination and trade of crypto-assets that guarantee complete anonymity by preventing, by their design, any identification procedure . This is the case of a number of crypto-assets (Monero, PIVX, DeepOnion, Zcash...) whose goal is to circumvent any possibility of identification of the holders.

Imagine when many more government try to ban these privacy cryptocurrencies? they will help them to bring awareness to the masses and hopefully, the people can start using DeepOnion for their daily financial transactions, giving themselves anonymity.

Great to see DeepOnion getting noticed.
The privacy level will only go up with deepsend.
The government's should be scared of it.
-
More people should be interested in this. This is an actual government report where they reference DeepOnion among privacy coin giants. This means they saw something, which they might view as threatening, but in doing so they recognize DeepOnion's value. Now, if privacy coins make governments feel threatened because they would be unable to peek into private citizens' business, well, that's not so bad for the rest of us.
