Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: How safe is an exchange site?
« on: August 29, 2018, 11:36:20 AM »
It’s impossible to find a completely safe exchange or wallet. Even hardware storages are vulnerable to thieves, for example. So, it’s a question of more or less secure places. In these terms, private wallets are surely better than public exchanges. Even reliable sites like secure quadrigaCX exchange reviewed here http://bitority.com/review-of-quadrigacx/ can’t guarantee 100% safety. But the fact that it stores users’ funds in cold storages inspire confidence. However, when it comes to hacks, bhm45 is wrong. There are some major services which have never been hacked like CEX.IO and Kraken for fiat platforms or Huobi and Binance for crypto ones.

Are you talking about all currencies inclining fiat or about crypto only? In both cases, it’s hardly possible that Bitcoin will replace all other projects and turn into the single one. The reason is in the world’s structure. We’re not the single global community yet, so we need different currencies to distinguish one society aka country from another. The only currency (Bitcoin or any other) is possible only when the world will be united and it sounds like a bit utopian. And don’t forget that there are hundreds of altcoins apart from national currencies, these projects also will compete with Bitcoin. Diversity is cool, I think.

Cryptocurrency Trading / Re: Long Term or Day Trading?
« on: August 28, 2018, 03:25:14 PM »
Look, both strategies may bring profit but I prefer to hodl major coins like BTC, ETH or other ones from top-5 while trading minor alts. You are novice trader, right? Then I’d suggest making the initial portfolio for the long run and then buying small coins for day deals. Simply to diversification by names, you should diversify approaches. It’s always the worst idea to bet everything on the single coin or single strategy. So, mix both ways to minimize a risk, that’s my advice.

Ethereum Forum / Re: Why Ethereum is so popular now?
« on: August 20, 2018, 12:48:36 PM »
ETH is cool, that’s it. The company was the first to introduce completely new view of crypto world. Since Bitcoin and its forks focus on payment systems, Ethereum widens horizons and covers everything. With this platform, developers can create apps for nearly every sphere of our life while regular users can launch these apps for their purposes. It’s like the mini Internet on the blockchain. As for me, ETH and its analogs like EOS or TRX have all the chances to survive in the future crypto cloud burst.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Really? Next Bitcoin is Litecoin
« on: August 20, 2018, 10:57:03 AM »
No way, guys. Litecoin is Bitcoin’s fork and it has really a few differences like algorithm of transactions’ speed. To replace BTC and become the world’s #1 currency, the project must be entirely different. Ethereum has all chances to do it but Litecoin is too weak. The thing is BTC and LTC has the same goals – they want to become the worldwide payment system. ETH works as soft platform and has more opportunities for developing. But as for me, Bitcoin will be at the top all the time, like gold in Middle Ages.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Are you happy with bitcoin?

Well, yes, I am. Sure, at massive dips I sometimes feel like I’m going to give up and start panic selling. But still end up holding, as I can conclude in the long run – it is the right decision.

As most people in this thread I think that the price will certainly rise up, it’s just a matter of time. Still, no one can predict when it will happen. We also can’t be sure how much the price will increase. In any case, I strongly believe that with crypto patience always brings rewards, so my advice for you is to hold on.
