Amulet Protocol
Amulet Protocol announces a strategic partnership with Project Serum, who continue BUIDL on Solana
Amulet and Serum are pleased to announce their formal strategic partnership, strengthening ties with the Solana ecosystem.
Simple, reliable insurance for Web3 meets faster, cheaper and more powerful DeFi as Amulet and Serum announce their official partnership.
Amulet will launch on the main network in late September, initially on the Solana blockchain, and then become a true cross-chain coverage protection solution. Serum is a protocol and ecosystem that provides unprecedented speed and low transaction costs for decentralized finance.
Serum was created on the Solana blockchain and is completely permissionless. Serum has watched DeFi grow over the past couple of years, especially the growth of DEX on Ethereum, and noticed limitations for users and developers due to exorbitant gas fees and slow transactions. As a result, Serum was born to address these issues and improve issues of centralization, capital inefficiencies, and liquidity segmentation.
Launched as one of the first major open source projects on Solana, Serum has a range of offerings:
Serum Core, an asset-independent order book to align with any Solana-based trading product. Serum’s back-end engine is ideal for both financial and non-financial instruments.
True interoperability — Serum’s architecture allows a variety of applications and participants to share middleware in one place.
Ecosystem and developer services — Serum offers a decentralized order matching service on the network, giving full control to developers. Serum DEX also offers a broader source of pooled liquidity.
Serum Token (SRM) — SRM is the utility and management of the Serum ecosystem and is fully integrated to benefit from buying/burning fees.
Solana Speed and Cost — Like Amulet, Serum uses Solana because of the extremely low transaction costs and speed of the platform.
Amulet has been following Serum closely since it launched in August 2020, and the success of the project prompted us to start our own journey.
Like Serum, Amulet has been watching the growth of DeFi and then DeFi’s protection options throughout 2020, as well as closely following the Solana ecosystem.
Low fees and high speeds prompted Amulet to learn from others and create the first DeFi coverage protection protocol for Rust-based ecosystems. Amulet also revised the coverage protection model with its unique PCUV (Protocol Controlled Underwriting Value) solution.
Both companies wanted to announce this partnership because they share the same ultimate industry vision — to promote the global mass adoption of web3 and DeFi.
The partnership announcement is a catalyst to work together on that vision. The two companies will join together to fight DeFi exploits, raise the profile of the Solana ecosystem and ensure a strong future for the entire industry.
