Cryptocurrency discussions / Comparing DAPPS by Traffic and Volume
« on: February 20, 2020, 06:10:59 PM »

To assess DApp adoption, transaction or USD volume isn't a sufficient measure as whales, project founders, or project investors can wash-transact to push up volume in an effort to outsize the display of demand, somewhat similar to exchange wash-trading.

On the other hand, DApp traffic may hint at a better measure for genuine adoption.

Chainlink Forum / Chainlink's Explosive 2019
« on: February 20, 2020, 06:07:42 PM »

Chainlink is the most recent demonstration of how token sales can offer incredible opportunities that are otherwise accessible only to VCs.

Now Crypto's most recent unicorn, Chainlink is an example of how token holders need to strain for developments that have a reasonable product-market fit, along with a token that rationally fits into the ecosystem. Chainlink is now one of the first tokenized projects to work side by side with major global companies and then turn that value into a token's price appreciation.

Cryptocurrency discussions / What is AVA Labs
« on: February 20, 2020, 12:28:23 AM »
Basically anyone using AVA Labs (www.avalabs.org) can deploy new or existing blockchains on the AVA platform and leverage all the features AVA offers like higher transaction speed than VISA, scalability or immutability. You can deploy a blockchain with your own rules and requirements. To showcase the power of AVA, the team has created ‘Athereum’ a mix between Ethereum and AVA.

Additionally, the platform is also capable of tokenizing and deploying assets through AVAs smart assets primitive. One of the biggest problems with the tokenization of assets is legal compliance, something that AVA is aware of, that’s why the platform can obey special covenants.

According to AVA’s website:

‘AVA democratizes financial markets and bridges all blockchain platforms together into one interoperable ecosystem.

Build your own custom blockchains or digitize any assets with arbitrarily complex rulesets.’

Cryptocurrency discussions / The Two Roadmaps of the Steemit Acquisition
« on: February 18, 2020, 08:09:24 PM »
https://steemit.com/blockchain/@hatu/the-two-roadmaps-of-the-steemit-acquisition

Tron’s Steemit acquisition is a reasonable decision by Justin Sun. The domain/website receives up to 30M monthly pageviews, meaning it can not only easily drive its own cashflow, but it is also one of the most powerful conversion funnels for a blockchain.

Steemit, in its present state, has an outdated UI and user dashboard, has practically no search mechanism, lacks content suggestions, and various other problems due to the existing leadership making minimal effort at advancing the website, mainly due to the solid cushion it received from its ownership of tens of millions of STEEM tokens.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Reaping the Fruits of Building
« on: February 18, 2020, 08:05:19 PM »

LTO Network kicked off 2019 by defying the bear market and pushing a parabolic 1,000% rise in February.

1 year later, in February, LTO is back with another record-breaking rise on a Binance listing. At a fruit of the team's dedication, this listing came at no cost, and instead rewarded hodlers with a huge airdrop.

Cryptocurrency discussions / AVA Labs - Innovative Smart Contract Platform
« on: February 14, 2020, 01:44:11 AM »

The dApp ecosystem is growing at tremendous speed. Decentralized applications are popular because they are open-source, decentralized and incentivized. Ethereum has allowed developers to run their dApps on top of Ethereum's network but unfortunately, the sheer amount of dApps has collapsed Ethereum's network a few times as the ETH blockchain can only handle a few transactions per second.

The need for more scalability and high transaction throughput is definitely growing. AVA Labs (www.avalabs.org) knows this and focuses on providing a dynamic smart contract platform that removes the need for forks using a community consensus system for upgrades.

AVA is a truly decentralized platform that allows users to vote and impact the network while providing developers with high transaction speed and scalability.

Avalanche AVAX Forum / What Is The Avalanche Consensus and How Does It Work
« on: February 13, 2020, 12:46:44 PM »

The Avalanche consensus mechanism was published in mid-2018 and was implemented by AVA labs. This new consensus mechanism aims to create a network without any leader as all nodes have equal status here.

AVA is led by Professor Emin Gün Sirer, one of the most esteemed cryptocurrency thinkers. AVA Labs is powered by this consensus protocol that can achieve high performance and scalability while solving some of the issues present in traditional consensus algorithms.

AVA has been able to demonstrate more than 5000 transactions per second with each transaction taking around 1-2 seconds to process and finalize.

The idea about tokenizing assets is fairly new but as the blockchain industry matures, the focus has shifted from ICO's or IEO's to Security Tokens. In essence, tokenizing an asset is basically using digital tokens to prove the ownership of the real asset. This provides a number of benefits that real assets do not offer.

AVA Labs (https://www.avalabs.org/) is the only platform that is decentralized and can operate permissioned subnetworks and assets on a public network. In fact, AVA offers a higher transaction speed than Visa and more than enough scalability for any project.

The tokenization of traditional assets provides a wide range of benefits like greater liquidity, 24/7 markets, lower transaction fees, improved compliance checks and more. Check AVA Labs for more information about the use-cases for the platform.

AVA Labs was founded by the legendary computer scientist, Emin Gün Sirer. Emin is known for his contributions to peer-to-peer systems. AVA Labs is a blockchain-based platform and ecosystem trying to expand the use cases of blockchain technology beyond just currencies.

One of the first use-cases of AVA is the creation of personalized blockchains. Anyone can launch a chain with AVA and can pick between using an existing network or create a brand new one. Users will have a wide variety of options to customize their chain.

Another real use-case is the tokenization of real assets. This process typically involves issuing a blockchain token (security token) that represents a real and tradable asset that can be almost anything.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Top 10 Most Burned ERC-20 Tokens
« on: February 07, 2020, 05:21:01 PM »

Nothing excites hodlers more than these two words.

Benefits of token burns are clear: lower token dilution and potential secondary market support. Burns should be provable, and ERC20 tokens do so by sending tokens to the 0x00 address.

It's interesting that some of the top 10 most burned tokens have burned more than the current project value.

The 2017 bull market successfully covered up all the major flaws of bounty campaigns and their broken system, but it eventually became clear that these campaigns created little to no real value as participants had no vested interest.

Decentralized work and value-add are an inevitable aspect of successful startups, businesses, and economies; bounty campaigns were simply the wrong approach.

Pioneering one of the first feasible solutions for valuable decentralized that can be remunerated with tokens, we developed a fully pluggable platform that will allow projects to reward and incentivize community members (hodlers), thereby incentivizing growth in organic community size and activity.

Cryptocurrency discussions / A comparison between Masternodes!
« on: February 04, 2020, 03:18:08 PM »

Masternodes remain an important part of dozens of cryptocurrencies. However, only a handful of masternode tokens have $200,000+ daily volume, and that's without removing washtraded volume. This highlights that most mn rewards are meaningless, even if the token ROI is high.

Above is a list of the few masternode tokens that have the liquidity to support the sale of mn rewards. Masternodes rewards are meaningless if there's no liquidity for the earned tokens.

:point_right: Were Masternodes just a Fad?

EOS Forum / The EOS DeFi ecosystem
« on: January 31, 2020, 06:38:50 PM »

DeFi is a core aspect of the EOS ecosystem, with REX and Equilibrium collectively locking up a far greater portion of EOS than the portion of ETH locked by all Ethereum DeFi Dapps.

However, the EOS DeFi ecosystem is still premature as only 2 platforms dominate it entirely and overvaluation runs far. In fact, while Maker's MKR token is valued at less than 1x the worth of the ETH it locks, Equilibrium's NUT token is valued at 10x the worth of EOS it locks.
