Mayor of Chicago and former Obama’s chief of staff Rahm Emanuel recently talked about Cryptocurrencies in a recent debate on the city’s Fintech movement. He stated that he sees the adoption of Crypto as inevitable, reports Forbes.

Mr. Rahm commented on Cryptocurrency and Blockchain in a recent event hosted by David Carman, the co-founder of FinTank which is a project focused on making Chicago a global financial hub. The mayor admitted of not having enough knowledge about Cryptocurrencies and the technology behind it but he makes his case based on the political scenario.

He cites examples of falling economies like Venezuela and Argentina where their currencies have inflated out of control. He sees a use case for Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies as a tool for people living in these countries to opt out of their monetary system.

He said:

“Nation states are falling apart or receding. City states are emerging, so the political structures we all grew up under are changing. One day, somebody’s going to figure out – whether that’s Argentina, ten years from now, five years from now – how to use cryptocurrencies to stay alive when their facing a financial crisis, and then you’re going to find out that this moment has arrived.”

Emanuel being an experienced politician acknowledged that he needs to learn more about Cryptocurrencies and Blockchain technology.

“I don’t know if that’s ten years, and I don’t know if that’s 20 years, but it’s affirmative. I don’t know what it is. I know it’s an alternative way to trade, and therefore, I gotta learn about it.”

Chicago – a Crypto friendly Hub
Chicago is the home for the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) both of which have listed Bitcoin on their platforms. The mayor cited a Delloite report that listed Chicago in the top five global technology hubs, “If you’re not innovating, you’re falling behind,” Emanuel said.

The US states of Wyoming and Colorado have gotten ahead in Crypto regulations, while Wyoming introduced bills that would recognize Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin as a currency, Colorado introduced the digital token act which exempts certain tokens from securities laws. Mayor Emanuel said he was not aware of these regulations but assured that he is open to newer ideas.

Bitcoin Forum / Regulation, good or bad?
« on: February 16, 2019, 07:18:53 PM »
Some known economists claimed that, Bitcoin’s value could drop to just $100 after people in power “move to regulate anonymous transactions”.
How ever this is in contrast to some who were in favor of regulating cryptocurrencies' claims that, regulation is in fact vital to crypto's growth. It can solve key problems that bitcoin is now facing in its efforts to become a proper currency.
If Bitcoin is to be regulated, what happens to its anonymity? Who or what will benefit most if regulation do pushed through? Will it affect Bitcoin's volatility? Need answers guys ...

Ethereum Forum / Sudden Rise of Ethereum
« on: February 11, 2019, 03:26:28 PM »
Today, Monday, Feb 11, Ethereum has recovered its #2 position on Coinmarketcap, having surpassed XRP. As of this writing, it's market cap now stands at $12,774,971,783 with market value of $121.88
Ethereum's platform is used by a wide variety of ICOs these days. It's smart contracts capability is 2nd to none. Many corporations, as well as business houses, are taking advantage of these capabilities in order to create their own products as well. Ultimately making Ethereum more popular and gain more movement thus increasing the price in the long run.
Naturally investors have been intrigued as to the sudden coin spike in market cap value. Are you?
Some experts have assumed that two tweets caused ETH’s market cap to rise. The tweets were written in response to questions directed at Vitalik Buterin about what constitutes a megatime success and what dApp has shown a real long time use case. Vitalik answered “BitTorrent” to both questions.
Do you agree?

Constantinople brings with it much-needed performance upgrades to the Ethereum blockchain. A very intensive and extensive update so to speak. The update will come into existence as a Hard Fork.
Ethereum developers are implementing these software upgrades with the intention of making the Ethereum network faster, less expensive and more efficient. In their words, they are "ushering in a new age of Blockchain technology".
Even before this development, the architecture behind Ethereum’s blockchain system already makes it uniquely exceptional.
I just want to know ...
Is this upgrade, be beneficial to small time investor? Can we expect an increase in Ethereum's value after it's implementation?
Your thoughts guys ...

Bitcoin Forum / Your utmost reason to invest in bitcoin now.
« on: October 19, 2018, 02:58:30 AM »
There were actually a number of reasons as to why we should invest in bitcoin now such as having that advantage of being the first mover, no taxes, easy trading, its flexibility, having multiple applications; to name a few. Mine, will be the most obvious one - its escalating price. With bitcoin there is always the possibility of earning huge profits given the right moment. And surely next to huge profits is the realization of achieving my goal of having a comfortable life. As of this writing bitcoins value was $6480+ only, way too low from that massive price way back December of 2017. But then again, i am confident that, the likelihood that this coin will perform miracles in no time is absolutely great.
What will be your number 1 reason? Do we share the same thought?

Ethereum Forum / Why do most ICOs chose Ethereums platform?
« on: October 10, 2018, 11:44:22 AM »
Ethereum is likely the platform of choice because it offers a blockchain platform with a built-in abstraction layer, which serves to unify the ecosystem. And its flexible, extensible blockchain system makes it relatively easy for developers to build and launch their own decentralized autonomous apps [DApps], decentralized autonomous organizations [DAOs] and crypto-assets.
What are your thoughts about this?

Cryptocurrency discussions / Correlation between Altcoin and Bitcoins price?
« on: September 25, 2018, 10:43:12 PM »
Aside from being both cryptocurrency, is there possibly any connection? In any way i looked at it, they were entirely two different thing. Although bitcoin is the very first cryptocurrency BUT altcoins especially ethereum in my opinion have much much way more potentials than bitcoin. So why do most of the time, Altcoins prices do follow that of Bitcoins?

Pahingi naman po ng opinyon ninyo. Meron akong savings, hindi naman kalakihan but enough para makapag-invest for the very first time.

« on: June 01, 2018, 10:34:32 PM »
I was so careful in handling my wallet. I only open it if needed and pinakamatagal na ang 10 minutes. When i check the transaction sa etherscan, i discovered na meron din siyang parehong token at agad-agad eh ipinalit niya sa IDEX exchange. I know for a fact na hindi ko na yun mahahabol.

It doesn't make sense. Magka-iba naman totally ang fundamentals nila at nakakatiyak naman ako na, altcoins are not carbon copies of bitcoin.
Hindi ko talaga maintindihan kung bakit. Mga papu, pakipaliwanag naman...

Philippines (Tagalog) / Are Altcoins just as important as Bitcoin?
« on: May 20, 2018, 03:29:54 PM »
Where do Altcoins stands?
