The San Francisco blockchain tech giant  – Ripple Labs has started, this year, a process of differentiation from its blockchain token XRP. This comes due the confusion by the crypto-verse between the two as in many headlines, google searches, article and so on, enthusiasts speak of the two in the same manner as if they were the same.

In the past, the price of XRP spiked many times when an announcement was made by Ripple Labs’ team, even if that had nothing to do with the coin but one of the firms financial solution. Similar, when xCurrent network was adopted by the UAE exchange, it pushed the tokens price upwards.

Mati Greenspan – eToro analyst added: “A lot of newcomers are of the understanding that holding on to XRP tokens is somewhat similar to holding shares in Ripple Labs, which is completely false.”

“Many of the deals that they do and the payment channels that they set up, at the end of the day, are not going to use XRP tokens,” he explained.

U.S. Senate candidate Austin Petersen, who is known for his Bitcoin (BTC) advocacy, lost the Republican primary election Aug. 7.

According to unofficial results published by the Missouri Secretary of State, Petersen lost the battle to Attorney General Josh Hawley, who received 58.6 percent of the 663,553 votes. Hawley will go on to face to Democratic Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill in the general election.

In February, ABC News reported that Petersen’s campaign for Senate received 24 donations in Bitcoin amounting to just under $10,000 total. One such donation was reportedly the largest BTC donation ever received in a federal election.

Upon the receipt on Dec. 20, the contribution of 0.284 BTC was purportedly converted to U.S. dollars. At the time the donation was worth over $4,500, putting the donation over the Federal election limit of $2,700 per individual. The candidate’s website explained that the first $2,700 would go toward activities in the primary election, while the remaining amount would be used in the general election.

XRP - Ripple Forum / Ripple is in trouble!
« on: August 06, 2018, 07:24:58 PM »
Cryptocurrencies suffered another leg down amid "socialized clawbacks" and other issues...Ripple is in trouble.

Ripple is in a mire. It is easy to see why it cannot rise but it is too easy to see it collapse. A hard cap awaits at $0.4250 which is the confluence of last month's low, the BB 4h-Lower, the 4h low, the BB 15m-Middle, the 1h-high, and the SMA 5-1h. Overcoming that level opens the door to limited gains towards $0.4311 where we see the congestion of the SMA 200-15m, the SMA 50-1h, the Fibonacci 61.8% one-day, the BB one-hour Middle, the SMA 5-4h, and the SMA 100-15m. And it does not get better above that line. The XRP/USD has some support at $0.4212 where we see the meeting point of the Fibonacci 161.8% one-day and the BB 15m-Lower. Further down, support clusters are few and far between. Substantial support is only at $0.4067 which is the Pivot Point one-week Support.

All in all, there is more support than resistance. The path of least resistance is down for Ripple.

Coinbase / What is Coinbase Custody?
« on: August 06, 2018, 06:11:10 PM »
According to Coinbase blog, “Custody through a regulated, institutional broker-dealer. In partnership with ETC, a SEC-registered broker-dealer and FINRA member, Coinbase Custody is proud to offer a service that couples Coinbase crypto asset security excellence with broker-dealer financial reporting expertise.”

The essence of this is that Coinbase Custody pairs a cryptocurrency exchange platform (Coinbase) to ETC, a platform for the trade of securities and other tokens. As it stands, Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Litecoin and Ethereum Classic are all available through Coinbase Custody, with XRP, Monero and Dash alleged to be added next, alongside an announcement that also suggests Coinbase will be adding all ERC-20 tokens to the service too.

As cryptocurrency becomes more mainstream, pension funds and other big institutions are seeking to add it to their portfolios. This represents a potential opportunity for investors but also a new business line for the likes of Coinbase, which charges funds to be the custodian of their crypto assets.

On Friday, Coinbase announced it is exploring plans to expand its custody service to include 40 more assets, including XRP, which is the third biggest cryptocurrency by market cap.

Institutional funds are required by law to use a custodian to hold their assets and protect them from theft. In return, the custodians charge a fee to keep the assets secure.

Ripple News & Updates / India Is Not Stopping Ripple From Taking Over
« on: August 03, 2018, 06:09:23 PM »
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has established regulations that mean cryptocurrency trading in India is essentially banned. This ban is now a part of a larger case that is currently being passed around the courts. There’s a chance the regulations could be overturned, but, regardless of this, cryptocurrencies are banned and the country is currently in limbo regarding the whole matter.

Regardless of this, according to new reports, Ripple is cementing a position within India that could see the adoption of both Ripple technologies and XRP in the future, assuming of course that cryptocurrencies are given a little bit of leeway by the RBI in the future.
