Cellebrite released a new cryptocurrency tracer tool that gives law enforcement and analysts the ability to track illicit crypto transactions.
Digital intelligence firm Cellebrite has launched its “Cellebrite Crypto Tracer” solution.

The new offering is powered by CypherTrace and aims to trace illicit cryptocurrencies involved in money laundering, terrorism, drugs, human trafficking, weapon sales and ransomware schemes.

As the official Telegram Open Network is being prepared to shut down on Aug. 1, global TON technology projects continue progressing.
TONCommunity.org, one of the multiple spin-offs of Telegram’s unlaunched blockchain network, has announced that its tetsnet is now live.

Developers released the validator launchpad for ETH 2.0 on July 27, allowing users to participate in the testnet’s Proof-of-Stake.
With the Ethereum 2.0 final testnet set to be released on August 4, developers have now opened the doors to validators.

According to a July 27 Ethereum blog, the research team behind ETH 2.0 has announced the release of the validator launchpad for the multi-client testnet Medalla. The launchpad is part of the testnet launch stage, prior to Phase 0, in which the network will move towards Proof-of-Stake (PoS).

Bitcoin has the ability to replace gold as a safe haven for investors as the world turns digital, says Nigel Green.
Nigel Green, the CEO and founder of financial consultancy firm deVere Group, says Bitcoin’s recent bullish activity shows it has the power to replace proven safe haven assets like gold.

He Yifan of Red Date Technology shares the future plans of China’s Blockchain-based Service Network.
China’s Blockchain-based Service Network (BSN) will be integrating with some of the most well-known public blockchains over the next 12 months.

He Yifan, CEO of Red Date Technology, the private company behind the BSN, told Cointelegraph that the network aims to integrate with 30–40 public blockchain networks by June 2021. In the following year, it will further integrate more blockchains to purportedly double that number.

Swiss crypto manager FiCAS AG announced what could be the first actively managed bitcoin exchange-traded product (ETP). The firm’s Chairman Mattia Rattaggi said the Bitcoin Capital Active ETP’s portfolio could contain up to 15 altcoins as determined by market capitalization, liquidity and the rules of its host exchange, the SIX Swiss Exchange. Product managers will trade bitcoin against ETH, XRP, BCH, LTC, BNB, EOS, ADA, XLM, XTZ, TRX and exit to Swiss francs, euros and U.S. dollars. Rattaggi said the list could shift based on coin performance.

Perfection shouldn’t be the enemy of good when it comes to regulating the cryptocurrency space, said Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Chairman Heath Tarbert.

The infrastructure propping up Bitcoin might become easier for anyone to spin up and run.

Lightning creator Tadge Dryja has been working on a new design for a lighter weight Bitcoin full node, about which he first wrote a paper in 2019. Last week, he and a team of coders released a first version of the Utreexo software as a part of MIT Digital Currency Initiative (DCI), putting the idea of lighter nodes into working code.

Full Bitcoin nodes act like financial security systems, validating Bitcoin blockchain transactions and protecting users from being tricked into thinking they received money that they didn’t. But they take up a lot of computing space and are quickly growing in size.

Israel-based digital forensics firm Cellebrite announced the launch of its cryptocurrency and blockchain tracing tool on Tuesday.

In an announcement on its website, the firm said that the tracking solution is powered by CipherTrace’s crypto intelligence tool and aims to help investigators identify illicit transactions using digital currencies.
According to the announcement, Cellebrite’s forensic tool will allow users to scour the blockchain for transactions, evaluate risk level and flag addresses known to be associated with criminal activity.

The European Union, acting on its two-year-old vision for a European blockchain services network (EBSI), has unveiled the minimum technical requirements for nodes participating in its bloc-wide testnet.

Nodes in ESBI version 1.0 must feature at least three computer hosts: a master for core services and two protocol hosts for the BESU and Hyperledger Fabric blockchains, according to tech specs published by the European Commission’s digital connectivity program CEF Digital last week.
