Yesterday, Ethereum bulls were retesting the $1,700 high to break above it. The upside momentum was weak as bulls failed to break above the recent high.

A breakout above the $1,700 high will allow buyers to retest or break the $2,000 overhead resistance. Nevertheless, buyers and sellers are still struggling for price possession below $1,700 high. Assuming, the bears have the upper hand, they will break the $1,400 support. This will cause Ether to fall into a deeper correction. Meanwhile, Ether is making an upward move after its rejection at the $1,700 high. The upside momentum will resume if price breaks level $1,700. According to data from skew analytics, some 63,100 Bitcoin (BTC) options contracts are expected to expire this Friday, February 26.

Skew explains in a tweet that there is $160 million worth of options with a strike price of $56,000. A chart in the tweet shows that options with a strike price of $48,000 have the highest open interest (4,400).

A reply from skew shows that open BTC interest had a notional total of $3 billion. The graph also reveals that open interest doubled from December to January. Source Link

Bitcoin is up by 2.2% today as the coin increased by $2,300 from today’s low of $50,627 to set a new ATH price at $52,943.

Overall, the cryptocurrency has managed to surge by 10% over the past week after breaching the $50,000 level on Wednesday to reach the resistance level at $52,365 (short-term 1.414 Fib extension). BTC has been battling with this resistance over the past 48 hours as it has been unable to close a daily candle above it so far. The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) greenlit its launch earlier this month, marking a watershed moment for the industry.

Ethereum extended its rise and traded to a new all-time high at $1,830 against the US Dollar. ETH price is trading in a positive zone and it looks set for more gains towards $1,900. Ethereum corrected lower, but it regained strength to set a new all-time high near $1,830.
The price is now trading well above $1,750 and the 100 hourly simple moving average.
There is a major ascending channel forming with support near $1,760 on the hourly chart of ETH/USD (data feed via Kraken).
The pair could dip in the short-term, but the bulls are likely to aim more gains above $1,850. Source
