Crypto Wallets / Re: Trezor introduced Safe 5
« on: June 14, 2024, 11:49:18 PM »
I followed the release of this new Trezor hardware wallet and for the price they are asking I don't think it is offering anything special compared to previously released Safepal Safe 3.
Sure it has color touchscreen that is a bit larger and protected with gorilla glass, but there is no camera and QR code support.
For $169 they are asking for Trezor Safe 5 you can buy Keystone 3 and almost Passport by Foundation that are all airgapped devices.
If somene already owns Trezor Safe 3 they don't need to bother with buying Trezor Safe 5.
I am waiting for release of Trezor Safe 7  8)

Get started with TorGuard today and take advantage of our exclusive 50% discount. Simply use the promo code TGLifetime50 at checkout to secure your online privacy and enhance your internet freedom.
Is this discount code working only for TorGuard lifetime plan or for other plans as well?
And I don't see if Monero is accepted for payment.

I am looking at your software application for all devices and I think they are all closed source.
You should really consider releasing code as open source if you want more people trusting your VPN service.

I like idea with Bitlist very much, especially part with added Debit Cards, this is exactly what I was looking for! Good work icopress and tryninja!
I would suggest adding more cards, there are some virtual cards that work very good without any kyc verification.
This service has a topic in bitcointalk forum since January, but this is the first time I see it.

The only way to truly separate money from the state is by using decentralized blockchains. We see that most of the scorn by governments about cryptocurrency comes from this fact.
There must be other ways to do this without using internet, since they are controlling that 100% and they can shut down everything with a single switch or undersea cable cut.
Decentralized blockchain is great but not perfect, and most blockchains that exist today are actually centralized.
I think that combination of bitcoin and other hard assets like gold and silver would be a good idea.

Thanks for the idea, i will take note on this. For now i'll check and see how reliable this new hosting is, how often will be the downtime too. So far their CS is responsive and willing to help which is good one unlike the past server.
Is your new hosting accepting bitcoin and other crypto or only fiat payments?
I don't know what you are using now, but Flokinet is one of the better hosting providers, they are based in Island and they accept many cryptocurrencies including monero and bitcoin.
There are few more options available but I am not sure how pricing is compared with what you have.

The potential implementation of Monero (XMR) payments still presents some challenges due to the fee. Users might pay not $0.20 but slightly more.
But you are also accepting Bitcoin and Ethereum that can have multiple times higher transaction fees.  ;)
Even paying with stable coins fees can be higher than monero transactions.
Thank you for considering adding support for Litecoin mweb and Liquid Network.

The problem with the market now is several coinjoin coordinators appeared without any restriction
That is not a problem, that is called freedom of not always kissing asses of regulators all the time.
If you don't want to use stuff that criminals use than you should stop using US dollars and all other stuff.
I see that your software is actually focusing on restrictions and censorship, and I wouldn't be surprised if you restrict use of other coordinators soon  :P

Mixers do charge 3mBTC, 7mBTC, like that for a single mix, and we don't know exactly how they perform their analysis.
And some of them can be operated by shady people, scammers or even government.

Meanwhile, CoinJoin wallets are open-source and we know exactly how they perform their mixing, but the fee will usually depend on the maker/taker or whatever central server is processing the mixes.
Ironically, I think that situation with coinjoins is much better now than before they banned Samourai and arrested developers.
There are much more coordinators for coinjoin and most of them don't have any censorship.
People adapt to any changes.

Wouldn't have really bothered me if they kept the old name to be honest. I have seen websites without anything looking like "mix" in the name get banned for being mixers. I think people are just attaching too much importance  to the naming and stuff.
Don't your website also has word a MIX in domain name? :)
You have a mix of exchanges, wallets, services and mixers listed there, but you are not actually a mixer service.
And your topic is allowed without a problem in bitcointalk forum.
People can be silly sometimes.

I found another suspicious MIX item  8)

That is not very cypherpunk-like of Ginger Wallet's company. This decision panders towards censorship.
I understand why they added ban for downloading part... but are they really not allowing wallet to run if user has US IP address?
Since wasabi and ginger wallet all network traffic goes via Tor by default, I don't understand how they can do this in real life.
Maybe this is just posted more as a cosmetic protection from authorities.

it isn't so bad for a government to prevent their people to gamble before it becomes a nationwide problem that even the teens are downloading sports betting app of google play.
I will ask again, when did people of Australia or any other country asked for this babysitter?
They destroyed so many lives and business in last few years in Australia and other countries, and you think they care about safety of people with online gambling...  :o
One of the reasons they are banning online gambling is because they can't tax it like they want, especially with cryptocurrencies.
Simple.

However, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that banks were basically forced to go along with this, because it's the Australian government calling the shots here.
I think that banks have more power than puppet governments for a long time.

What do you think? Which crypto assets could be of interest to users? For instance, DASH, ZEC, or XMR?
Monero should be number one choice because it has lower transaction fees and it has the best privacy tech, but Litecoin new MWEB addresses could also be a good alternative.
I think that only Litecoin Core currently support LTC MWEB addresses but I think more wallets are coming soon.
Another option is Liquid Network assets on Bitcoin, L-BTC and L-USDT, they have confidential transactions and fees are near zero.

Stable Coins Forum / Re: Stablecoin

Tether is not a public blockchain, Tether only uses smart contracts to mint and burn USDT. As an ordinary investor, we also do not need to worry too much about the possibility of account freezing. I haven't even thought about it in years of owning USDT.
What the heck are you talking about?  :o
I never said that Tether is a blockchain, it is a token built on public blockchains, and I can almost guarantee it will crash or be banned one day, maybe sooner than you think.
If you want to keep this tokens go ahead it's your risk, but I think you also trust the government, and you don't care about your privacy, so I will just do the opposite thing from you ;)

So, we make money, sellers make money and buyers save money. Money saved are money made. So you can say that buyers make money too. Everyone is happy.  :)
OK, good for you if lot of people are using your service than everyone wins.
I wonder if it's possible to make something similar on other blockchains like ethereum and bitcoin to help people save on fees.
There is no bandwdith and energy there, but maybe there is some other way with second layer solutions.

Suggestion Box / Re: merge stablecoins boards
« on: June 12, 2024, 10:12:19 PM »
USDT, USDC and DAI are top three stablecoins by market cap and popularity so that is the reason admin created separate board for them.
I know that there is not much conversation in DAI board currently, but merging all boards into one won't solve anything, and maybe it could create more mess.
