Forum related / Re: ✅ Stake your Bitcoin address
« on: June 02, 2024, 03:29:22 PM »
Now that I'm here, this is my staking address:

Code: [Select]
bc1qvu3k5x24jx53tglp2emj62yu9ffmsnpn646hjr

You need to sign a message using your address.

This is how you prove the ownership of your address. If someone hack your account, you could sign a message using this address proving the ownership (the hacker won't be able to do it).

So you can recover your account using your address.

This is how you sign

Forum related / Re: [TOOL] Another Altcoinstalks Notification Bot!
« on: June 02, 2024, 03:25:55 PM »

This is indeed very handy, I'm thinking more and more about stopping using Telegram so this one will be very useful.

I'm also going (to try) to use LoyceV's on the other forum, but it seems a little less intuitive

I use LoyceV bot daily for about 5 years. I love it.
I track mentions to my username and my domain using it.

I don't have telegram, so this is a good solution for me

Basic questions about this forum / Re: My Karma Just dropped by 10
« on: June 02, 2024, 02:57:41 PM »
If I remember correctly, I had 73 karma until yesterday. This morning, I woke up and noticed that my karma had been reduced by ten, and it's 63 now. I did not get any notifications, and I don't think I have ever broken any forum rules. I would love to know more about the issue. Was it done by the admin or by a moderator? What could be the possible reason?

I created a thread in Airdrops and Giveaways, but it is no longer available. I assume this is related to that thread. Could you please explain why it was removed?

If I have created the thread on the wrong board, they can simply move it somewhere else. This is a common mistake. But what is the point of deleting it unless it does not violate any forum rules? I always thought it was a friendly forum. I am totally disappointed.

I really think we should have a log of recent karma changes.a

Personal Positive and negative karma log should be available to everyone.

If someone gives me +1 or -1 karma , I should know what topic is this person/mod is taking about about.
Maybe I don't need to know who gave me the karma, but to which comment.

This is basically a feedback. Showing how we can improve.

Basic Questions about Cryptos / Re: Need advice for bitcoin wallet..
« on: June 02, 2024, 02:52:38 PM »

Again, the method used when it comes to seed generation is quite unclear/unknown which makes it quite complex to comprehend.

Again, I don't think there's are any integrations with hardware wallets in the Aqua wallet.

I agree with you.

I think the main purpose of the wallet isn't privacy or Strong security (like hardware wallet integration), but easy to use L2 solutions (LN and liquid) and also easy usdt swap

I am quite surprised disappointed by the way the forum is treated by a large part of users, especially the original (non-teleported) ones. Many participate only and exclusively in filling out a signature quote while writing a meaningless wall of text that does not attract anyone's attention.
So, it is possible to discuss what this forum offers, while users fill the forum with non-sense answers or behave like bots by answering software-generated replies.  :(

That does not disappoint me, as I said in my previous post, it is something that I have already seen in previous years. Most users are only here for bounties and signature campaigns, it's a fact we have to accept whether we like it or not. And I'm going to tell you something that may surprise you @examplens. I'm "happy" with how things are going now on the forum in terms of activity.

anyone who runs a domain understands what this forum already achieved is huge, and very hard to get. Thousands of online users, sponsors,  active discussions with real people...

There are many things to improve here, but I believe the forum is much better than it was last year when I created my account.

Some Users don't contribute to the forum, but they do not make any harm either. As long as scammers get caught and this community become useful as a good community to get support or get information, this forum will keep growing

Forum related / Re: AltcoinsTalks Telegram Notifier !!!
« on: June 02, 2024, 02:41:53 AM »
Oo..I see that is why I am not receiving any notification from 30th May evening. I hope it will gonna be fixed soon because we are going to used to it and became our life saver tools.
And I will suggest that if you can able to switch more better host that will be great for forum users.

I guess PX-Z will not mind
Here is another notification bot created by bitmover https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=315998
It can help until PX-Z fix his things

My bot is much simpler. But for people who doesn't use telegram, and while px-z bot is offline, it will work!

Personally, i can't use a forum without a notification not

Maybe an alternative method here would be allowing users to also sign messages with ethereum, as this an altcoin forum.
Is someone actually using signing and verifying messages on other blockchains?
I never heard about that and I never saw this was possible in all altcoin wallets I used.
I suppose this would be possible with bitcoin forks like Litecoin, BCH and others, but I am not sure about ethereum.

I know that people use metamask to sign stuff to log in. That can even be done with bitcoin using some wallets like UniSat (it is in my todo list to study)

It is also in my todo list make a tool similar to brainwallet to verify and a sign messages, which also accepts segwit (brain wallet doesnt)

Do you think people would use it?

Congratulations for creating this topic examplens. Great idea.

Maybe an alternative method here would be allowing users to also sign messages with ethereum, as this an altcoin forum.

Quoting for reference.

I'll start here:

Code: [Select]
-----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----
I am examplens from Altcoinstalks, and this is my address 3FWdmutJ8pqH9D3VNd7j2BLBUXJv49qZxW (date 31 May '24)

-----END BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Someone should verify the message and confirm by quoting the part of my post that refers to it.
(Electrum – compatibility signature format)

Verified here:

this is mine

Code: [Select]

I noticed nobody mentioned aqua wallet.

It is a good bitcoin wallet.
It offers an easy interface for lighting network as well. Not for high amounts , as it is not a hardware wallet.

I believe that the attitude that this forum is destined for bounty and earning hunters would be completely wrong. The arrival of more serious signature campaigns is taking the forum to a different level, we should probably change that bounty/earn narrative shortly.

I agree.

However,  I still lack some more technical  discussions . And also some better way to navigate here.
The  notification bots helped a lot forum navigation,  but so many boards and the lack of a watchlist/personal feed/or trending topics make it very hard to find new posts.

I will think about implementing some watchlist someday .. with trending topic links in a page in my domain

Bitcoin Forum / Re: [VIDEO] Killing Bitcoin
« on: May 30, 2024, 11:51:50 AM »
And on the internet, there is not a single tool that can use the twitter video link and provide you the YT embed link so you can use it anywhere. I mean doing it is not so hard, but I think the demand for this tool is not so much, as people don't usually search for videos on twitter AKA X so that's why there is not such tool.

I agree. I found a tool that hosts the Twitter video online for download,  but I didn't thought about hosting in YouTube to share...

And even pasting the video file here, it didn't embed it. That works for you tube only..

What is the reason why deleting posts is not allowed?

I see no reason for that.

Maybe with a better reputation/trust system everyone should be allowed to.
There are two reasons:
the first is that it affects points, which at some point can be converted into USDT, and the second is fraud.

I never found a post which explain how to reclaim ALT tokens and convert them to anything else. Which topic is it? I see many related to ALT, but I just found rules and stuff like that, never saw information about reclaiming them

A user lost $68 million after falling victim to a "dust attack". The monitoring platform Cyvers Alerts detected a transaction for 1155 WBTC.

The dust attack is used by attackers as a tracking system - they tag the victim's wallets with microtransactions. As a rule, such wallets have similar addresses (beginning and end). Due to inattention, the user can use it in the future for a reciprocal payment.

I think those  ethereum wallets are more complicated.  Só much smartcontracts ans authorizations everywhere...  they are easier to make a mistake. Look that the user lost wbtc,  not btc.

Anyway, lack of attention was very expensive for him...

I am impressed to see so many Brazilian traffic in this report
And the portuguese  board is basically dead...

Maybe many people from elsewhere use a Brazilian VPN?
