Sorting Box / Is It Safe To Leave Your Tokens On An Exchange
« on: October 30, 2018, 02:06:44 PM »
A friend of mine once told me that exchanges is the safest place to leave one's tokens because if the exchange is hacked and tokens stolen, those tokens that were stolen will be refunded to their owners by the exchange. So I ask the more experienced ones amongst us to share their experience with exchanges and to share if this claim by my friend is true.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: How do I keep my cryptocurrency safe?
« on: October 29, 2018, 07:19:06 PM »
Your money, your responsibility. Any bounty/airdrop or site that asks for private key during registration is to be avoided. Also it is advisable not to click on any link given through email by projects one doesn't know. All it takes is one click and all your wallet details will be open to hacker. Let us be very careful.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: What is an escrow? How does it work?
« on: October 29, 2018, 06:57:45 PM »
Escrow is a trustworthy way of doing business between two party as the third party stands as guarantor. The problem today with this worthy and important service is that it has been overtaken by fraudsters! One no longer know who to trust.

Ponzi Schemes has caused many to commit suicide. This is a very unhealthy practice but it is not only or mostly the uneducated who get attracted to this schemes. Greed has no social barrier, it can infect anyone. When a project is too good to be true, then its probably a ponzi scheme.

This is a good way of introducing others to the forum. But on the other hand, we also need to be very careful how we share our links on social media lest some fraudulent felloiw comes here and attempt havoc through our referral link.

Forum related / Re: The current problem related to applying Karma
« on: October 28, 2018, 08:25:38 PM »

Of course two or three people can give karma to a person at the same time. It seems like you're new to forum. Read all the sticky threads to know how it works.

Thank you for your replies. I have read the rules of the forum and I am still reading them. But you must admit that karma giving is a kind of sticky issue.

Forum related / Re: The current problem related to applying Karma
« on: October 28, 2018, 04:26:27 PM »
I have experienced to analyze and observe for many postings (comments and topics) that are made by many members on our forum. I can say that there is a good progress or improvement of their postings. Then, I realize something about this, that there are many of our members still not active in applying the Karma, especially for + Karma (positive). I don't know about the reasons but maybe some of them feel afraid to give Karma or they don't care about the Karma. Do you think this happen because of the lack awareness of members? Or this is normal and don't think to be discussed?
~Let's discuss about this. I really appreciate about your comments. And I want to make this case be clear~

Thank You

As I understand this, only senior members and above can give karma. Now my question is,  does the receiving of karma begin from a certain rank level? Or can any rank receive karma, even baby steps? Secondly, are there parameters to use in judging that a post merits a karma? Finally, can two or three persons give a particular person karma at the same time?
Tnx for the answers in advance.

According to my observation, the forum is a bit quiet lately. Although there's a number of new features have just been implemented but people doesn't seem very intersted in. It's not about those features are uncool but maybe we're lack of dedicated member. A thought just come up in my mind that at this stage, does the forum need quantity or quality? I would go for the former: we need more and more members though we still need to keep the forum's overall quality at a decent level.
What's your thought on this?

Quality will always trump quantity any time. Quantity usually attracts debris but quality always attracts genuine, serious minded individuals.

Suggestion Box / Re: [Suggestion] Add Reason Before Giving Negative Karma
« on: October 28, 2018, 04:12:18 PM »
a good idea, I also agree,
maybe even better if someone gives negative karma, the name comes out at the post that is given karma,
so we can know who gave negative karma and we can know what the reason is.

Showing the names of negative/positive karma giver is not necessary. It helps to avoid pointless feud.

Hi everyone. Well, here I have an idea how if before giving negative karma we must give a reason first why we gave it. I am worried about the abuse of negative karma. I think the technique of this fiture like 'Report to Moderator'.

And with this fiture, I think the negative karma giver will responsible about it and admin/judge/moderator can consider it. I hope Altcoinstalks is getting even better. Thank you :)

This is a wonderful idea! Even better is the idea of giving a reason for the negative karma and having the admin/moderator look at it before going ahead. I think this fixture should indeed be added.

Good day Admin, I joined this bounty when I was a baby step rank few weeks ago. Now my rank is Junior Member, am I no longer qualified?
