Suggestion Box / Re: [DISCUSS] Adding a Template Color Scheme Option
« on: October 03, 2018, 10:18:07 AM »
We have a subforum for bugs and development. I advise to post such a topics there and to move this thread to this section because is valuable and will be good for this subforum.

I see you mentioned this once in another topic but things those are not bugs but inappropriate features and need to be changed. This board named "Forum related", I don't see it's unreasonable publicly talking about them here. That's not to mention, "Bugs & Tech support" board is too quiet.

for beginners if  comments should be:
~snip~
Totally agree with your idea but I think that it'd be better if you capitalize the first letter of each sentence. Some people do not have this habit or even have the habit of capitalize all letters of the title. Somehow I think it's a sign of disrespect to readers (or maybe I am asking too much).

I myself rarely quote for reply comments. I often use @name to comment on one of the member comments here. Is that also permitted?
Of course it's acceptable. But unlike you, I prefer quoting since it makes my post more visible and linked to the post that I am replying to. I only quote the necessary part and delete the rest to avoid making my post a wall of texts.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Who controls the market?
« on: October 01, 2018, 05:22:37 PM »
No one controls the market but some individuals or organizations can manipulate the market based on their influence. For example, if you have 8200 BTC like Mt. Gox, you can sell out all of them in one day to dump bitcoin's price. And when bitcoin dumps, market bleeds. Likewise, ETH went down when EOS' team sold ETH to get money.

I don't think it's a necessary thing at the moment. As we are still in the development phase, some basic improvements are much more fundamental. I had a topic about those improvements, you can find it here: https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=54697.0

Btw, if you discover any bugs or inappropriate features of the forum, should you mention in this thread. I'll collect and add to my topic so that our admin can see and fix in the future.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: the goal of bitcoin in society
« on: October 01, 2018, 05:22:14 AM »
Actually BTC is bringing conflict to the society. Its primary goal was to decentralized the payment/financial system, which is against the banks and governments. That's why they are keeping negative or neutral attitudes toward BTC and cryptocurrency. Not to mention that BTC is being misused from its first mission. People use and even manipulate it to take advantages from others rather than accept it as a tool of payment.

Suggestion Box / Re: Showing karma statistics on user's profile
« on: September 29, 2018, 03:04:27 AM »
there are many reasons why karma should stay undisclosed
including :
karma war
Karma war is a thing but how about karma abuse? It's easy to give karma from an alt account to the main one and no body knows about it (accept you but you can not control all of them).

I have an idea that we can reveal those post receiving positive karma and let negative karma undisclosed. That way, revenge from negative karma receivers would be avoided while publicity of positive karma restrains people from abusing it.

Hi Admin. I'm not sure if the forum still need some global moderators or staffs. If it does, please count me in as a candidate. I really want to join a hand in making our forum great.

Economics , Sociology & Politics / Re: Is WW3 imminent ?
« on: September 27, 2018, 04:49:39 PM »
Everyone knows that if WW3 really happened, nuclear weapons would bring the earth back to stone age. In fact, there's another war happening. It's economics war between the US and China. But it's funny that these two giants' arms, South Korea and North Korea are coming to peace.

Suggestion Box / Some improvements that'll make the forum better
« on: September 27, 2018, 04:17:53 PM »
I'm not sure if they're bugs or can be fixed by forums settings. Let's just discuss...

1. Remember password
Even I choose "Forever" on the small box next to the "Login" button, I have to re-type Username and Password on the next log in (same web browser, no log-out from anywhere). This is a popular feature as it can be found in any other websites. Hope we'll have it in near future.

2. 3-step log in on other device
When I log in on my company PC, it takes me 3 tries to be successful. At the first, it goes:

And this is what it's like on the second try:

I only have a successful log in on the third try. It's really time consuming.

3. "Altcoinstalks Quick Guide" banner

I know that this banner was born to remind us about the forum rules but I already remember all of its content after a few times reading. Is there anyway that it would disappear? Maybe when I rank up from Newbie or after a few hundred of times it's shown to me?

Forum related / Re: Who gave karma?
« on: September 27, 2018, 11:37:09 AM »
Hope it will be update. We can see who give us the karma, it make all clear. But is the karma important?

For now, karma can directly be exchanged into ALTS tokens and from ALTS tokens, you can get a number of other benefits. More details about karma, you can find it here. You also can have a closer look on ALTS' token in here.
In a nutshell, ALTT forum bring a lot of benefit to its member. Your activeness and contribution will be deservedly paid off.

Sorting Box / Re: Where do I start from before joining the bounty program?
« on: September 27, 2018, 08:08:39 AM »
Hi .. I'm confused about choosing a campaign. Where do I start? Telegram, fb, twitter. I just created a fb and twitter account and only have a few followers. is that useful?

There are a number of factors you should consider when joining a bounty. First, it's bounty allocation. Signature or content campaigns usually gets the highest amount of tokens. Social campaign (facebook & twitter) gets lower but easier to take part in. Second, the number of participants. It's easy to join social campaigns but the number of pepple taking part in always high. Consequently, tokens each participant receives is low.

If you have creative mind, I suggest you taking part in content campaigns: high allocation, less competitive. FB or twitter campaigns are not bad but you need to increase your number of followers and should follow those campaigns at the very beginning to accumulate high stakes.

At first, I don't pay much attention to bounty on ALTT and I thought ALTT's bounties award must be much less than BTT's. But I was quite surprised when seeing this post of our admin. It shows that many bounties of ALTT and of BTT are equal in stakes. Many members of BTT are jealous because of this, LOL.

We know that excess is very bad. That means everything has limitation. When it is fillup then other become overload and then it becomes beyond control. So, to control the bubble of overload there must have strict rules and regulation. And then a system become rude to the latecomer. Which result we can see in Bitcointalk now.
I totally agree with your idea. Maybe our admin has already thought about this and he's considering some method to avoid BTT's drama.

1408
The answer is that some btt users want to limit others from accessing bounties so that they can get a bigger share themselves [hint: merit system on btt] , thus if a senior or hero member is valued on btt just because he is a senior member, not because of the contributions or activity that is by definition an anti-meritocratic system.

So damn true. They say they will give merit to "quality" posts but the truth is merits are given to those posts flattering merit. 90% merits of DdmrDdmr - the most awarrded user on BTT are from his posts analyzing merit. It's a failure BTT has to prevent its members from ranking up by merit.

Sorting Box / Re: From btt to here
« on: September 24, 2018, 07:33:40 AM »
Yeah. Most of us here from BTT. But not all of us was newbie or Junior member at BTT. Higher ranks also get bored from BTT strict rules which were favor of legends and heros. We should here be careful guys, and not repeat mistakes of other forums. Lets always try to help each other and do our best to develop this very promising forum.
At BTT, I am a Member ranked but I don't like the way heroes and legends there fuck up with their merits. Furthermore, the failure of merit is that it is mostly given to those topics or comments flattering about merit. How ridiculous! That way, it's impossible for me and other thousand members to reach higher ranks.

Yes dude, I see many member was Newbie rank altought the activity more than 1 hundred
That 1 hundred activities are purely bounty reports or meaningless comments, I guess. That situtation will happen at ALTT one day and I hope same method like merit won't have to be proposed here.

Forum related / Re: Altcoinstalks Traffic Statistics on Alexa
« on: September 23, 2018, 02:04:37 PM »
+1 We need more ICO projects, meaning more bounties and more active users
I see an exact user name on BTT and I think it's you. I came here from BTT too because I don't like the way that high ranked members there treat with merit and lower ranked members.

Bounty can bring more members to ALTT but we should have some policies to avoid spam, something BTT is struggling with. Rules should be implemented to signature campaigns. As usual, a signature campain requires 10 to 15 comments (with or without a condition of no less than 100 characters) per week. But here, in ALTT forum, we can require less comments but demand more characters. Bisides, no bump actions on ANN topic or Bounty topic are allowed. These rules must be issued by forum's admin and sticked to bounty board. Since ALTT is in its developing stage, we may come up with more methods to make forum ideal for everyone in the future.
