A correction in gold and silver prices coincides with a 3.45% drop in Bitcoin as its price fell below $11,500.
After an exciting weekly close that saw the price of Bitcoin (BTC) rally above the $12,000 mark for the second time this month, the digital asset has lost momentum and slipped below $11,500.

The former resistance level at $11,800 has again failed to function as support, and at the time of writing, Bitcoin's price has dropped below $11,600 to test the ascending trendline support at $11,550.

The supply of Tether has surpassed $12 billion and this will likely only make traders more bullish on the price of Bitcoin and alternative cryptocurrencies.
The market capitalization of Tether (USDT) surpassed $12 billion as of Aug. 14, according to cryptocurrency market analytics firm Coinmetrics. Meanwhile, some believe the rapidly-rising valuation of the dominant stablecoin positively benefits Bitcoin (BTC) in the long term. But some investors also fear that it makes the cryptocurrency market vulnerable.

Tether has been the most widely-utilized stablecoin for several years, and it has seen exponential growth. In January 2017, the total supply of Tether was hovering at around $10 million. Within four years, that number has increased by 1,200-fold.

Germany’s Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), the country’s top financial regulator responsible for regulating crypto service providers, has begun actively closing down unauthorized bitcoin ATMs, a BaFin spokesperson has confirmed to news.Bitcoin.com.

KB Kookmin Bank (KB), the largest commercial bank in South Korea, has agreed a deal with blockchain venture fund Hashed and crypto exchange Cumberland Korea to offer bitcoin custody services.

In January, the government-owned bank filed its trademark application for digital assets custody with the Korean Intellectual Property Office. The trademark is called Kbdac. It covers more than 20 crypto-related areas.
