Economics , Sociology & Politics / Re: politics influenece on cryprto

In my opinion, politics has a huge impact on crypto. Even though crypto was developed to be independent and to become an alternative to our current monetary systems, I think that politics can turn this upside down. Just think of the lawmakers. A state could ban crypto easily - just like that. Nevertheless how much their population enjoyed it or not. Just think of the states in which Uber is banned to protect the taxi drivers. Don't you think they will not ban crypto too to protect banks or their monetary system? To be honest, I think this will happen if the government doesn't get enough profits out of this.

As American corporations report second-quarter earnings to investors, many are blaming tariffs for lower profits and higher prices. And it is true! As far as I know Coca-Cola’s boss will increase prices of its drinks this year in response to the rising cost of the aluminium it uses for its cans. Of course we have to keep in mind that these tariffs are just one of many factors contributing to the decision.
Big buyers of steel and aluminium have so far borne the brunt of Mr Trump’s trade war. But one need only look to the market for washing machines to see how consumers might also suffer. In the months leading up to the White House’s tariffs on washing machines, firms stockpiled supply from foreign sellers, causing monthly imports to rise by 50%. After tariffs went into force, imports dropped again, and the price of “laundry equipment” as reported by the Bureau of Labour Statistics (BLS) spiked. In June, washing machine prices increased by 13% compared with the same month a year earlier, the largest such jump since the BLS began collecting data 40 years ago.

What can be done? The best solution would be a negotiated transition. Mr Maduro would finish his term but would respect the constitution and parliament, free political prisoners and guarantee that overdue regional elections, and the presidential contest next year, take place fairly. However, an attempt at such a negotiation failed last year, and there is no sign that Mr Maduro and his cronies will voluntarily surrender power. Those who want to save Venezuela have limited influence, but they are not helpless. The opposition, a variegated alliance long on personal ambition and short of cohesion, needs to do far more to become a credible alternative government. That includes agreeing on a single leader. Some in the opposition think all that is needed to trigger the regime’s collapse is to ramp up the protests. That looks fanciful. Mr Maduro can still count on the army, with which he co-governs. In Venezuela’s command economy he controls such money as there is, and retains the backing of a quarter of Venezuelans—enough to put his own people on the streets. And he has the advice of Cuba’s security officials, who are experts in selective repression.

Sorting Box / Re: Airdrop, is it legit ?
« on: August 06, 2018, 02:33:18 AM »
Airdropping is a technique frequently used by startup businesses that are conducting an ICO to increase brand exposure and drum up excitement about their project. Airdrops are analogous to free samples at the mall (if those samples could appreciate in value). I'm here completely on santawarriors side. Not all airdrops are legit, as ICOs and their currency can be scams. However, don't mix it up with an ICO, which doesn't work out as expected ;) That's then just a flop but not a scam.

Nevertheless, there are several ways to check if the ICO or the currency is a scam or not. The easiest and most obvious way would be to check the white paper. Further, take a closer look at the homepage of the company. And an even more closer look at their team.
