I have a friend who is interested in getting into bitcoins but he does not have a lot of savings or any major investments. He also has a lot of debts to pay and has an average wage job with a family of 4 to raise. When we were talking yesterday, I thought: who really would benefit the most from investing in bitcoin or cryptocurrency? Can those who are like my friend get into bitcoin even though he has no major investment? Or is bitcoin only for those who can afford it?

Bitcoin Forum / Why all the fuss about bitcoin ETF?
« on: August 28, 2018, 09:18:53 PM »
There has been series of arguments, with different parties, trying to convince the SEC to approve bitcoin ETF (exchange traded fund), which would basically allow bitcoin to be traded as a stock.

This would off course increase the adoption of cryptocurrencies, as it will attract more players, who are wary of the market volatility.

It doesn't do much in terms of legitimizing bitcoin as a global currency, capable of rivalling the conventional currencies. And has little long-term effect.

And sectors a question, why is approval needed, when bitcoin is a decentralized platform?

Bitcoin Forum / How do we change the public's view of Crypto world?
« on: August 28, 2018, 09:17:03 PM »
Guys we are very much aware how the crypto community through this great forum has helped most of us in terms of our finances but is so heartbreaking that the most of the public views only describes how insecure and unsafe the crypto community is. I do understand that cryptocurrencies are volatile and the issue of anonymity sometimes scares people away but y'all bear with me that if  crypto is explained to you and you really understand it properly you would not make wrong mistakes and get swayed away by panic sales or submit your private key as ethereum wallet address. Is it a public campaign or some other form of tutorial that we should organize to help explain crypto to the world because believe it or not the blockchain technology of cryptocurrencies is being admired by most organizations and some of them have decided to run their operations with the use of blockchain technology. What can we do as a community to help change the public view of Crypto?

Bitcoin Forum / BITCOIN MASS ADOPTION?
« on: August 28, 2018, 09:14:21 PM »
I love Bitcoin and the ambition of a revolution from the banks BUT...

Does anyone think that one thing stopping it from mass adoption is the satoshi value?

If I was to buy a coffee it would be B0.00067
People would much just prefer to see $5

What do you think?

I have read several posts on this forum where people have claimed to have invested all the money they have on Bitcoin, I also read a post where a guy claimed to have used all the $20,000 his uncle gave him to also invest in Bitcoin, some even sold their landed property. The reason for these risks and others is the firm believe that Bitcoin would be $50,000 - $100,000 by the year 2019 or thereabout.

First, I must say that I admire the courage and high risk appetite of such persons. But, I must also warn.
Yes, It is good for everyone to have high hopes for Bitcoin, and also hope it gets to 100k USD in future, but you should also consider a safety factor in anything you do including investing.

Mathematically,

DO NOT Assume,
P(Success of future term) = 1 ; and
P(Failure of future term) = 0

This implies that, you must always leave a little fraction for probability of failure which in this case is the safety factor, no matter how little the fraction may be. Simply put, you don't have absolute control of what happens to Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies in the future.

Invest wisely, only invest what you can afford to loose

Just a piece of advice.

What are your own suggestions?

According to coindesk, the California Fair Political Practice Committee met on Thursday to discuss whether the campaign can accept digital currency donations. In opposition, committee member Nicolas Heidorn suggested allowing campaigners to accept digital currency contributions after further research on digital currency. The Committee does not agree with this recommendation.
Among the members who support cryptocurrency, Allison Hayward is the most prominent. She opposed a total ban on digital currency, and she said she particularly hated to ban digital currency from becoming a campaign fund before she did not investigate it, and she believed that blockchain technology would eventually become a powerful tool in trading behavior.
Both Brian Hatch and Frank Cardenas believe that digital currency should not be completely banned, but if this proposal is accepted, the ensuing fraud becomes the biggest problem. The committee did not reach a final conclusion and will continue discussions next month.

So with blockchain technology growing and adoption coming quickly, we are obviously going to see large industries like healthcare, banking, and law enforcement begin to utilize the strengths of blockchain.

Curious your thoughts on how blockchain could benefit the healthcare industry and why.

A great use case that I can think of right of the bat, is protection of patient data, making it immutable once stored.

Bitcoin Forum / Help me understand the cryptocurrency market
« on: August 25, 2018, 07:45:25 PM »
From my little knowledge. Cryptocurrencies are primarily used to buy and sell goods and services, though some newer cryptocurrencies also function to provide a set of rules or obligations for its holders. They possess no intrinsic value in that they are not redeemable for another commodity, such as gold. Unlike traditional currency, they are not issued by a central authority and are not considered legal tender.
I need help in understanding the crypto market and investment advice in order to  invest effectively  on bitcoin market

Bitcoin Forum / Is bitcoin really a bubble ? Analysis.
« on: August 25, 2018, 07:43:57 PM »
News media loves referring to bitcoin as a bubble but if you analyse the data it really doesn't make that much sense.

There are always adjustments in exchange rate markets market when it gets over heated.

Yeah - this is the image that everyone has been looking at recently. But lets put it in perspective. How about reversing the data.

Bitcoin Forum / WHY DO MOST PEOPLE FORGET BITCOIN SO SOON?
« on: August 25, 2018, 07:40:35 PM »

Anytime i see some members of this forum asking "Is Bitcoin dead"?, or "Is this the fall of bitcoin" i just become speechless because it is so shocking to hear that within just six months when bitcoin improved the financial status of people last year without any hard sweating people have forgotten about it so soon. I now understand the saying that "Men forgets easily". Well i can't really blame them but I know the few Real Crypto Enthusiasts like myself still believe in BITCOIN and we are going to keep investing in it because we know that the its value will rise with time.

Bitcoin Forum / Bitcoin has no competition
« on: August 25, 2018, 07:37:05 PM »
All those FUDsters that where saying year ago how Bitcoin would fail because another currency would take over get proven wrong year after year. The more time Bticoin is alive, the stronger it gets and the bigger the network effect. Sorry but there will not be a Bitcoin 2.0. Bitcoin will go to 100k+ per coin in the next 5 to 10 years, it will absorb all the value researched in the field if not directly through protocol improvements then through sidechains.

Bitcoin will remain the only solid coin. The only coin that survived for the longest time (other coins can't claim this unless they invent a time machine).
There will be alts that pump really hard and make people millionaires, but no alt is going to surpass Bitcoin's strength and solidity. No coin will get a bigger marketcap. In the long term people holding 21+ BTC will be rewarded by history with rich-tier status for seeing the value in it before most people did. Do not let the FUDsters trick your mind or the trolls try to derrail the excellent job being done by Core devs.

Let's continue then our path towards inevitable triumph.
