Less demand means lower prices. All the other coins, with a few exceptions, follow Bitcoin’s trend, even if there are no direct trading pairs yet (ETH, which most of the altcoins are traded for, follows Bitcoin’s trend very closely).

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Thinking about sell? Or invest more?

I think while nobody likes to watch their portfolio's value drop, when the market moves like this, it's a good time to take a step back and consider what a stock market sell-off really is: an opportunity to pick up stocks you've been watching while they're on sale.

When Bitcoin reached parity with the dollar in 2011, buying and selling on The Silk Road was easy. It was also relatively anonymous–until the Feds began to investigate, find, and prosecute criminals and the website was shut down. But the stain on Bitcoin’s reputation lived on.

Dogecoin Forum / Re: Is Dogecoin Making A Comeback?
« on: December 03, 2018, 08:43:40 PM »
I think .Dogecoin is an oft-forgotten coin, although it is accepted by several major providers and is traded on every respectable altcoin exchange. The coin was born of the meme culture of the early 2010s and its only primary differences to Bitcoin are that it is inflationary in nature – it will never stop producing new tokens – and it uses Scrypt, the same hashing algorithm as Litecoin.

Dogecoin Forum / Re: How To Earn Dogecino

If you are willing to learn, a more profitable way is by downloading a miner and mining other coins, then exchanging them to dogecoin.Besides faucets and straight up buying them, the other way of earning dogecoin is by mining.

Litecoin Forum / Re: How can you say that Litecoin worth to be hold?
« on: December 02, 2018, 09:19:24 PM »
I think other developers on the LTC team have confirmed they are also waiting for the huge surprise. This might also be related to Charlie selling off his coins. In short, the smell in the air (at least to me), is that something really big is cooking.

Litecoin Forum / Re: What did you learned about the Litecoin?
« on: December 02, 2018, 09:17:29 PM »
Litecoin is also open source, decentralized, and backed by cryptographic math to secure transactions.Litecoin was not made to compete against Bitcoin, but instead to act as a complimentary payment solution alternative.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Is It Time To Buy Or Time To Wait?
« on: December 01, 2018, 09:52:19 PM »
I think one of the key things potential home buyers need to decide is when it's the right time to buy a home. You can try to time the real estate market or buy when interest rates are low, or you can buy at certain times of year when you're more likely to get a favorable deal or find the widest selection of homes.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: How did you choose a good bounty?
« on: December 01, 2018, 09:49:56 PM »
If it is an obscure system, feature, or area of knowledge, and someone will have to invest significant time to understand the issues involved, then you may need to put in a significant bounty - few people may be interested, and they may not want to spend time on the issue - this is a answerer's market, and you may need to put up some real reputation if you don't see any answers after a bit. If the question is getting comments, but no answers, check that you are asking a good question and are sufficiently clear.

I think to avoid this, some ICOs require people who buy at below the ICO price to lock their tokens up for some period of time. Some stage the lockups so that they don’t all release at the same time.

Economists define money as anything commonly accepted by people for the exchange of goods and services. Although every country has its own system of coins and paper money, other things can also often be used as money.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Bitcoin as an online payment
« on: November 27, 2018, 10:32:49 PM »
I think buyers can purchase Bitcoin in a variety of ways (in almost any country in the world) and use it in a variety of ways: including online purchases using PayFast.Buyers simply pay the Bitcoin amount (at the current rate of exchange) during checkout. Sellers will still receive South African rand, just like with all our other payment methods.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: What will happen to bitcoin after 5yrs?
« on: November 27, 2018, 10:31:08 PM »
I think still, some people are worried that bitcoin has peaked and that investing now would be like investing in fool’s gold. I have to disagree. Digging deeper shows that bitcoin is just starting to pickup steam, and several underlying factors suggest that the cryptocurrency will only continue to gain value in the future.

Ethereum Forum / Re: Stop comparing ETH with BTC!!!!!!!!
« on: November 26, 2018, 06:15:28 PM »
I think there was much hand-wringing and regret expressed by some investors, especially those who only recently acquired their positions, who doubtless sold during the plunge.

Nobody can see the future, but if BTC price keeps going downward following the recent selling momentum, and at the same time the ETH price shows resilience, it is not impossible to imagine that sooner or later a situation like June 2017 may happen again and ETH may inch closer to reach value party and eventually be worth even more than BTC.
