Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: What happens to the market yesterday?
« on: November 15, 2018, 08:37:03 PM »
I kept wondering about this same question today and I decided to ask it in a WhatsApp group I am in, some people are speculating that it was the Bitcoin Cash fork but I doubt that because it wasn't a negative news, to be honest nobody expected the sudden plunge, nothing triggered it.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Does The Price Of BTC affect Altcoins?
« on: November 15, 2018, 08:34:14 PM »
I think the price of Bitcoin definitely affects Altcoins especially Ethereum and in extension Ethereum based tokens. When it pin takes one step back, Ethereum would take 5 steps back, I have noticed it severally.

I have been in this crypto space for a long time and one thing I can say with all certainty is that the market is very hard to predict, all we can do is wish and hope but I definitely wish and hope that there would be a massive bullrun this December.

Other Popular Cryptos / Coins / Re: How do you define popular crypto?
« on: November 07, 2018, 11:13:18 AM »
I usually say that a coin is popular if it has a large community who are actively trading the coin and supports the coin no matter what, this is what shows that they are very popular.

Stable Coins Forum / Re: TETHER INTENTIONALLY OBLITERATES 500 MILLION USDT
« on: November 07, 2018, 11:11:25 AM »
I think they did this because of the minting saga that rocked the crypto recently and saw people all over the world dumping the coin because they suspected foul play.

Stable Coins Forum / Re: Is tether good to hold for long term
« on: November 07, 2018, 11:08:45 AM »
The fact that you are asking this questions shows that you do not even understand the fundamentals of Tether, the price never changes, it is tied to $1 so even if you hold it for 100years, assuming it still exists by then, the price would remain $1.

USDT Forum / Re: Why Tether is Always Valued to $1 ?
« on: November 07, 2018, 11:05:48 AM »
Tether is made as a stablecoin, it is for those who want to hold crypto for a while but do not want the dollar value of their tokens to change, I use tether a lot especially when I sense that there would be a downward spiral in the market, I convert to tether and after the reduction in prices, I buy back a higher number of tokens at the same dollar price.

This is a first of it's kind and I applaud the admins of Altcoins for such an innovative idea, this would go a long way to reduce the rate of spam and cheating in airdrops and bounties.

Yes, Altcoinsforum is quite new and many bounty managers do not accept it yet but if we the community members can join hands together and get more people involved, this situation would change soon.

Wow, so dogecoin faucets still exists, back in 2015 I took this very serious and in those days I used to earn as much as 12 doge in just one claim in some faucets. The good old days when crypto was mostly unknown and very cheap.

Dogecoin Forum / Re: what is dogecoin?
« on: November 07, 2018, 10:44:58 AM »
Hmm.. I heard that dogecoin was initially invented as a tipping coin, but I guess they have seen that it isn't really a viable usecases for mass adoption so they are changing it.
