Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: More and more Scam projects
« on: February 05, 2019, 02:56:30 AM »
According to the study, total funding of coins and tokens in 2017 amounted to $11.9 billion. $1.34 billion (11 percent) of ICO funding went to scams, the vast majority went to three large scammy projects; Pincoin ($660 million), Arisebank ($600 million), and Savedroid ($50 million), which together equal $1.31 billion. This suggests that while a large number of ICOs were scams, they received very little funding when compared with the industry as a whole.

XRP - Ripple Forum / Re: Ripple Vs Ethereum, which best???
« on: February 04, 2019, 06:23:58 AM »
Both Ripple and Ethereum share enthusiastic markets, with investors propelling the value of the cryptocurrencies from relative obscurity into the top three of all cryptocurrencies. For ease and inconvenience of transactions, it’s hard to beat Ethereum and its easy access on exchanges such as Coinbase. Ethereum is also available through many brokerage accounts albeit at a steep premium using Grayscale’s Ethereum Classic Investment Trust (ETCG).

STEEMIT is a platform similar to Reddit where you can share your content. Its platform is known as STEEMIT. This platform is just like Reddit and Medium, allows you to share content, upvote, and network. But here, it pays the user for their participation in the form of cryptocurrencies.

Ethereum Forum / Re: What Wallet Is The Best For Ethereum?
« on: February 04, 2019, 06:06:01 AM »
I think the best wallet for eth is Exodus, Exodus is the world’s first multi-cryptocurrency desktop wallet. It is free to use and has an attractive UI. As soon as you open the Exodus wallet, a pie chart will show your entire portfolio of coins. It supports seven cryptocurrencies (including Ethereum) and is the first desktop wallet to have ShapeShift built in for exchanging cryptocurrencies. However, while using Exodus, one needs to always be connected to the internet, but you need not worry as your private keys never leave your machine. Features like one-click email recovery and backup seed keys for restoring your wallet ensure the security of your funds.

Cryptocurrency is a type of digital currency that uses cryptography for security and anti-counterfeiting measures. Public and private keys are often used to transfer cryptocurrency between individuals. This means users must reach a consensus about cryptocurrency's value and use it as an exchange medium.

Zcash Forum / Re: What is Zcash?
« on: February 03, 2019, 07:51:05 AM »
ZCash is actually a fork of Bitcoin that occurred in October of 2016. Much like Bitcoin, it is a decentralised peer-to-peer electronic cash. It also a hard limit of 21m coins hard-coded into its protocol. However, this is where the similarities end. ZCash was developed specifically to have anonymous transactions that are private and fungible. It was forked from Bitcoin by Zooko Wilcox who wanted to create a private cryptocurrency. It was originally called ZeroCoin until being renamed.

NEM Forum / Re: what is NEM?
« on: February 03, 2019, 07:27:19 AM »
NEM is one of the oldest cryptocurrencies, started back in 2014, and one of the most valuable, with a market cap over $15 billion, but it’s also one of the least talked about. That may stem from its origins in Japan, but over the last few years, it has expanded its reach to Asia, Europe, and beyond by forming partnerships with major corporations around the world to use the private version of the NEM blockchain. While there are many new cryptocurrencies that have begun working on ways for large businesses to incorporate blockchain technology into their systems, NEM is much further along and has a working product already being used. With each new customer, NEMs reputation, and its market cap is growing.

EOS Forum / Re: What is EOS?
« on: February 03, 2019, 07:16:55 AM »
EOS is a blockchain platform for the development of decentralized applications (dapps), similar to Ethereum in function. In fact, supporters have dubbed it the Ethereum killer. It makes dapp development easy by providing an operating-system-like set of services and functions that dapps can make use of.
The idea behind EOS is to bring together the best features and promises of the various smart contract technologies out there (e.g. security of Bitcoin, computing support of Ethereum). Simply put, the EOS community is working to provide one simple to use, massively scalable dapp platform for the everyday user.

Monero Forum / Re: What Is Monero?
« on: February 03, 2019, 07:06:38 AM »
Monero is the world’s first private, secure, and untraceable digital currency of the internet. Launched in April 2014,  It can be said that Moreno is like a more confidential Bitcoin. Monero is not just another clone of Bitcoin’s core code. This cryptocurrency is made from scratch. Monero was originally launched under the name BitMonero. This word is a compound of Bit (as in Bitcoin) and Monero (literally meaning “coin” in Esperanto). However, the community opted for the name to be shortened to just Monero five days later.

Dash Forum / Re: what is dash?23
« on: February 02, 2019, 02:07:07 AM »
Dash is unlike other cryptocurrency projects like Ethereum or Stratis which are more of a development platform. Dash advocates itself as peer-to-peer decentralized electronic cash. It intends to be as liquid as real cash which we use in our respective countries like USD/GBP/EUR/INR or CNY. Dash is built upon Bitcoin’s core code with the addition of new features (such as privacy and quick transactions). Like BTC, Dash is open-source and has its own blockchain, wallet infrastructure, and community. But unlike BTC, its transaction fee is negligible. Moreover, it looks like from the attitude of the development community that Dash will only remain as digital money for the internet, which is a good thing.

« on: February 02, 2019, 02:00:48 AM »
Ripple is a San Francisco-based technology company with more than 200 employees.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: What is Bitcoin? - Bitcoin Tutorial
« on: February 02, 2019, 01:45:03 AM »
Bitcoin, often described as a cryptocurrency, a virtual currency or a digital currency - is a type of money that is completely virtual. It's like an online version of cash. You can use it to buy products and services, but not many shops accept Bitcoin yet and some countries have banned it altogether. The physical Bitcoins you see in photos are a novelty. They would be worthless without the private codes printed inside them.
