Cardano (ADA) Founder Charles Hoskinson has doubled down on his criticisms of Ethereum (ETH), claiming that the latter’s network effects mean “nothing” in the long-term.

Hoskinson spent much of his recent livestream discussing Cardano’s recent progress and his hopes for the future. However, he also devoted a portion of the Q&A to addressing whether Ethereum’s apparent first-mover advantage and network effects would ultimately give it the edge over Cardano.

“I laugh when people say, ‘How will you catch up with Ethereum’s network effect?’,” he said. “It doesn’t exist.”

The Ethereum community was quick to react:

DeFi tokens / Re: Aave(AAVE) price daily

I predicted that the currency would soar to $600 helped by the rising TVL. To some extent, this thesis played out relatively well but the price found a substantial resistance at $576.

General Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency Changing My Life

If there is one concern in the digital age which affects all smartphone and internet users, it’s privacy. Concerns over the way our social media profiles and data process continue and often for good reason. However, it’s thought that cryptocurrency will help to give everyday people more power over their data and their identities.

Many big companies trade in data. Think of all the apps and programs you are likely to use each day. How many of them know your name, your mobile number, your date of birth and your address? Have you read through all your privacy statements?

EOS Forum / Re: EOS or BTC which is best for investment?
« on: February 24, 2021, 10:06:39 AM »
EOS has been dubbed the “Ethereum Killer” due to the 100,000 transactions per second it hopes to achieve, in comparison with Ethereum’s current 15-30 tps. Despite being an “Ethereum Killer” EOS started its life as an Ethereum-based ERC-20 token, but later launched its own mainnet.

One often overlooked fundamental factor is the fact that the EOS cryptocurrency token’s lead developer and Block. One CTO is Dan Larimer. Larimer has been called the Bill Gates of blockchain and is the inventor of proof-of-stake and the concept of decentralized autonomous organizations or DAO. He was also integral to the founding of other crypto companies BitShares, Steemit, and Graphene. Larimer’s support and involvement suggest that EOS has long-term potential in the market, and this will have an impact on long-term EOS price projections.

Ethereum Forum / Re: Ethereum remains the king of altcoins 2021

Ethereum is an essential tool among many developers and entrepreneurs. They are used to create decentralized businesses which are not in existence prior. Ethereum Smart contracts are used for eliminating third-party users from various industries. This will lower the costs and provides more secured services or products. Ethereum is used in many varieties which includes decentralized registration, democratized crowdfunding, and SCM (Supply-Chain-Management).
Due to the need of Ether, the value of it has raised rapidly compared to the past years. This Ethereum now processes many transactions daily contrast to the Bitcoin. The number of businesses and applications are also growing at an exponential rate.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: IS IT TOO LATE TO BUY BITCOIN?
« on: February 23, 2021, 09:55:31 AM »
1 btc is too expensive

But is it the right time to buy bitcoin?

The answer is the same as it is for stocks. Yes, it is always the right time to buy stocks. If the world appears to be ending, it is the right time; if stocks seem to be in a bubble, it is the right time to buy stocks. If the market is mind-numbingly dull, it is still the right time to buy stocks.

This doesn’t seem possible, but that in itself is a clue that it is the right thing to do because you can be assured that like a carcass on the jungle floor, any obvious source of profit has already been swept up by hungry predators.

I think XRP have a future, so I think is a good investment

I's always better to diversify, but since I don't have the money to do so, my money's on XRP. Good luck.

But as always, crypto is weird and anything can happen.

Dogecoin Forum / Re: The Dogecoin movement

You are seeing dogecoin with reference of Bitcoin, see it with $ , dogecoin is only the coin which has maintained it's price in a constant manner.

If one looks at Dogecoin’s strong core, the possibilities are endless. Doge has a solid platform, top grade safety protocols, fast transaction speeds and reasonable fees, all the necessary requirements to become a viable player in a blockchain monetary world.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Dego or Juld Worth to hold?
« on: February 23, 2021, 08:15:29 AM »
Recently, I was making a market research for decentralized projects in order to find a couple of good tokens for my portfolio. I try to diversify, replenishing with new pearls. There are not many, but it seems I found one of them, today I will share my opinion about JULD with you.

About
JulSwap DEX is built on the Binance Smart Chain, it is a community token with the following tokenomics:

800 000 000 supply

190 000 000 circulation

JULD is distributed exclusively to the community. Another important aspect is IDO Participation and the possibility of staking. Limit Orders Fee Participation is upcoming.

Today the situation with the token looks like this: the JulSwap (JULD) cryptocurrency rate is currently USD 0.16. Over the past 7 days, the JulSwap rate has decreased by 7.05%. The cost of the cryptocurrency in 24 hours has grown by 20.71%. The JULD trading volume per day (24 hours) on the exchanges amounted to USD 935 787.

Statistics and graphs show that for the period from February 4 to February 18, the exchange rate increased by >546%. However, the coin continues to rise in value gradually, so there may still be an opportunity to buy. Judging by the fact that it was added to Binance, it's definitely worth it.

What do you think?

Binance / Re: Binance vsUniswap
« on: February 23, 2021, 06:59:40 AM »
Binance is a centralized.

Uniswap is decentralized.

you send your coins to Binance, they look after them and you trade on their platform, with Uniswap you keep your coins and only link your wallet when you want to trade, both have got their positives and negatives

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Whats really happen to bitcoin?

popular a couple years ago

when it went from $1 to 10, or $10 to $100 per bitcoin?

Or when it went from $100 to $1000 area?

You have to be specific, so we know what range in the last 10 years you are referring to.

people were saying it would one day be used like real currency

well it is used to buy and sell things, as well as a store of value for some. People use bitcoin however they want.

Do people still expect that to happen?

Second layers and side chains will launch over the next decade - lightning network and liquid are two (there will be more though).

Each work with bitcoin to allow for different/quicker payment options with your bitcoin, they all have different trade-offs for this convenience though.

Anybody that doesn’t understand market cycles just won’t understand, those of us that do most definitely understand.Litecoin Hass as, and always will be truly decentralised payment network unable to be shut down with no central figure in the same way bitcoin is, only it’s faster and cheaper, that doesn’t mean it’s better than bitcoin it just means it’s as good as.When the regulation comes 90% of the shit coins will be stuck, leaving a vacuum of fast and cheap payments facilitated by the lightning network alongside bitcoin. Well this is just my opinion but who what do I know.
