Stable Coins Forum / Re: How to buy the LIBRA coin?
« on: August 06, 2020, 12:07:50 PM »
Libra is currently not released.
If Libra is released, there will be a lot of people who will join the pre-sale or ICO.
Especially if there is a bounty, it must be good news for bounty hunters.  ;D

A bipartisan quartet of US congressmen wants the IRS taxation policy not to dissuade taxpayers from participating in blockchain token staking.

These politicians believe America’s ingenuity can help drive this promising staking technology.
The four congressmen are Bill Foster (D) of Illinois, Darren Soto (D) of Florida, Tom Emmer (R) of Minnesota, and David Schweikert (R) of Arizona.
In their letter addressed to IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig, the quartet expressed concern that the “taxation of staking rewards as income may overstate taxpayers’ actual gains from participating in this new technology.”
They add this could result “in a reporting and compliance nightmare, for taxpayers and the Service alike.”
The letter, in which the U.S. politicians explain their understanding of proof-of-stake (POS), also gives reasons why they favor POS ahead of bitcoin’s proof-of-work consensus.
The politicians say in addition to needing “massive amounts of energy,” the Bitcoin network is “secured by a relatively small number of miners.” On the other hand, in POS, “all tokenholders can contribute to network security.”
By staking tokens, participating third-party tokenholders can also receive newly created tokens as rewards for helping to maintain the network.

The quartet says it agrees with the principle “that taxpayers’ true gains from these tokens should indeed be taxed.”
However, the politicians suggest a different solution:

"Similar to all other forms of taxpayer-created (taxpayer-discovered) property — such as crops, minerals, livestock, artwork, and even widgets off the assembly line — these tokens could be taxed when they are sold."

Eager to keep the U.S. abreast with this technology, the congressmen end their letter by urging the IRS to continue pursuing its mandate “but also (to) ensure innovation won’t be driven elsewhere.”
This letter by the four members of Congress is the latest signal that the U.S. is moving to embrace blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.
In July, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) clarified that national banks and federal savings associations can provide cryptocurrency custody services for customers.
Also in the same month, a U.S. federal court ruled that bitcoin is a form of money.
Meanwhile, reacting to the letter by the U.S. congressmen, Tim Ismilyaev, CEO and founder at Mana Security, says the growth of POS has finally forced some people in the U.S. government to see the importance of embracing cryptocurrencies.
“The US government recognizes the immense growth of assets locked in POS and defi [decentralized finance] markets (over $15B is already locked in such products) although these markets did not exist a few years ago. The value of locked assets is likely to surpass $100B mark in upcoming years, and this will happen with or without US approval. So this move by Congress toward crypto is rational.”

Ethereum Classic has suffered its second 51% attack in a week after more than 4,000 blocks were reorganized Thursday morning.

Mining pool Ethermine’s parent entity Bitfly and crypto exchange Binance reported the reorganization, announcing all Ethereum Classic payouts, withdrawals and deposits had been suspended due to the attack. It’s unclear how much the attacker has made.

The reorganized transaction history is currently the longest chain on the network. However, the majority of Ethereum Classic miners – such as mining pool Ethermine – are continuing to mine on the shorter version of the network.

Developers behind Ethereum Classic said in a tweet minutes before Bitfly’s report that exchanges and mining pools are advised to “significantly raise confirmation times on all deposits and incoming transactions” in light of “recent network attacks.”

A chain reorg occurs when a party gains more hashing power than the rest of the network miners. The adversary can then rewrite the chain’s history and “double-spend” the blockchain’s native currency (in this case, ETC). Hashing power on Ethereum Classic looks to have decreased considerably since Monday, August 3 dropping nearly 20% from 1.6 TH/s to 1.3 TH/s as of press time.

This fresh attack to Ethereum Classic’s network follows on from a recent attack that occurred between July 29 and August 1, according to blockchain analytics firm Bitquery.

While Ethereum Classic developers initially said the network did not suffer from a reorganization or a 51% attack in that previous attack, Bitquery said Wednesday that an attacker double-spent a little over 800,000 ETC (about $5.6 million), and paid about 17.5 BTC ($204,000) to acquire the hash power for the attack.

The monetary value of Thursday’s 51% attack in terms of the double spends is not yet known. However, at $23.44 per block reward on Ethereum Classic, the attacker has most likely earned $93,760 from block rewards alone.

The attack follows the deprecation of the OpenEthereum client on July 16. Nearly half of the network’s nodes – including important mining and exchange connections – operated on OpenEtheruem software which became immediately outdated following the first chain reorg July 31.

Ethereum Classic developers have urged node operators to switch to Besu or Multi-geth implementations as soon as possible.

Ethereum Classic’s price was $7.03 as of press time, down less than 1% over 24 hours.

Not the first

The network has suffered major reorg attacks at least twice in the last two years.

In the more recent attack, the perpetrator moved more than 807,000 ETC from an unspecified crypto exchange to several wallets between July 29-31, according to Bitquery.

The attacker then started mining blocks after purchasing the hash power from a user on cryptocurrency mining platform Nicehash.

On July 31, the attacker sent money to their own wallet address via private transactions and then implemented the transactions into the blocks they were mining.

The attacker then sent back money to a crypto exchange, which Bitquery alleges belongs to Malta-based OKEx.

By August 1 the attacker published their blocks and initiated the chain reorg.

As of press time, none of the funds compromised in the 51% attack have moved from the OKEx exchange, according to Bitquery.

I notice that when there the price is going up so many people are joining the train and they also buy because the price is going up and they are going to make a profit, why people are not buying when it is down when the price will eventually go up and they can make a lot of profit.  ::)

« on: August 05, 2020, 08:38:37 PM »
Hello, I want to invest on altcoin and plan to hold them for this year. Can you suggest me which coins are good for holding now.

I think good coins / tokens to hold are Origin (OGN), VITE, VITEX, Cartesi.  ;)

21
I think the Origin token (OGN) has good prospects, I'm sure next year the price is very good.
But it still depends on the analysis of friends all here.  ;)

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: I am an honest crypto bounty hunter
« on: August 05, 2020, 08:28:21 PM »
I really don't like it when bounty hunters aren't appreciated.
1. Scam Project.
2. Changes in reward allocations for reduced bounty hunters. (The thread is edited after the bounty is finished.)
3. Have to buy a few coins / tokens and we can get our rewards around a few percent. (Announced at the time of distribution.)
4. Send KYC at the time of distribution. (The bounty thread written as NO KYC, because KYC is very vulnerable to be misused.)

Lah agan gimana cara pakenya sampai2 sering kebobol??
