Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Your Christmas Wish For Cryptocurrency
« on: December 23, 2020, 06:10:29 PM »
1. For there to be a tasty dip to buy into over the xmas period or end of year  ;D

2. Generally for Ethereum gas fees to also settle down with less transaction activity. I never thought I'd want Ethereum to be less used, but if there isn't a scaling solution round the corner then it'd be nice for gas prices to otherwise reduce without so much volume on the network, even if just for a few days or a week.

3. Otherwise for 2021 to be even better than 2020, that's all I ask  8)

Voting / Re: Are we about to have another altcoin rally?
« on: December 23, 2020, 06:07:04 PM »
Well, admittedly it's starting to look like there won't be an altseason until next year unless things turn around this week. Bitcoin dominance is nearly back at 70% now so has the potential to go even higher. I'll still continue buying up altcoins while they are cheap, but prices may come down further now it seems.

Only 3 of 7 5 multi-accounts transformed into clones? Disappointing. These multi-accounts are missing duplicate membership status.

Here's another gang of four that I'm recruiting to the clone clan thanks to an anonymous source :)

1 & 2 are connected, 1 & 4 are connected, 2 & 3 are connected and 3 & 4 are connected. All four are therefore connected.

Voting / Re: Next Coin To invest
« on: December 22, 2020, 05:23:28 PM »
Technically, all coins are affordable to buy for newbies, it may just be a case of whether you get a bag full of a fraction of it. As for the poll, if by ALT coin you mean ALTS token, they I'd go for alts. I'm not a big fan of the coins listed, though I do also hold tron and litecoin. Dogecoin I've been meaning to buy since 2016.

He also posted this meme  :) Not sure what he's really doing playing around with pumping doge and claiming "Bitcoin is almost as bs as fiat money". I think secretly he holds many bags of many coins of many kinds. He's drawing a lot of people towards Bitcoin that's for sure.

Looks like the baby is a multi-account. Either that or terrible at copy & pasting.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Do not Invest while market is UP
« on: December 20, 2020, 11:11:18 AM »
I agree that investing when the price is high isn't recommended, this is for shorter-term traders to do in order to gain from the 10-20% swings in price, likely on leverage with 5-10x in order to make 50-100% on trades within a matter of days. Unless it's a break-out, buying tops isn't the smartest move.

When it comes to investing in Bitcoin or altcoins, it's always better to buy the dips in my opinion. Wait for the 25-35% corrections (that do still occur in bull markets) and increase your holdings without paying the price of a correction. Instead, benefit from the price drops by buying more  :)

Are you talking about withdrawing points into ALTS? If so, see here:
https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=833.0

Bare in mind that negative karma will reduce your points when withdrawing, and you need 10,000 points minimum in order to withdraw.

Quote from: Spreadhseet
Karma :
-1 = -600 points
-2 = -1400 points
-3 = - 2400 points
-4 = - 4000 points

Your current strike can also block your tokens from being withdrawn and is therefore recommended to have it removed:

Token price doubled again after more tokens bought  8)

Now up to 0.000394949 ALTS/ETH after 10 tokens purchased for $0.26*  8)

As referenced in the quote, this is the highest price since June 1st 2018 when Ethereum was $590, meaning we are keeping up with the no.1 altcoin 💪

Not to mention the highest price is over two and half years. We still have a long way to go, but we're getting there I think.

Ethereum Forum / Re: GrayScale Buys Another 130,000 ETH.
« on: December 20, 2020, 10:45:54 AM »
The only SEC registered way to buy ethereum in America has announced they bought another 130,000 eth on Thursday.

Yes this is very good news, Greyscale were quite instrumental in buying up Ether once ETHE was launched on the stock market, as well as other coins.

They are also known to "buy the trends" as it were, hence they've been investing more heavily into Bitcoin recently, but I'm sure this will return to altcoins soon enough once more investors diversify into altcoins again. Given how much Bitcoin they have bought, it's worth keeping an eye on their altcoin activity.

Personally I invested a small mount into coins that Greyscale invest in for this reason, which has served me well so far. Thanks for sharing the news.

Ethereum Forum / Re: How do you currently monitor the state of ETH?
« on: December 20, 2020, 10:41:09 AM »
Many users are feeling the problem due to the increase in eth gas fees. However, transactions, new token creation, are constantly on. ETH staking has been introduced. It will be possible in the exchanges very soon. How many eths do you have?

I have enough Ether, without specifying exactly how many :P

I do believe in the long-term Ethereum will be very cheap to use once 2.0 is finally finished, but until then it seems we all have to suffer the high costs if we want to use the virtual machine for transfers etc. The fact that users are still paying high gas fees is a good sign, even if not sustainable in the long-term.

28
It's true the gas prices remain hideous and I wouldn't bother competing with the high 3 figure gas prices others are paying for. Personally I will put in transactions for 20-30 gwei, which with tokens cost aorund $1, or otherwise 30 cents for Ether transfers, and wait for necessary amount of time for confirmaiton.

29
I think we have to remember that the "DeFi bubble" in summer meant that projects needed to correct 80-95% after 10-100x gains, in order to retrace at mnimum 50% of the gains from summer. Most projects appear to have met this requirement, others still have more value to lose it seems. Bitcoin now looks overvalued after being overbought for several weeks, altcoins continue to look cheap with some considerably oversold. Btfd comes to mind.

I'm otherwise still hopeful of another alt season starting at the end of the year, or early next year. To me, altcoins are still due a bounce against BTC at least:

Basic questions about this forum / Re: Why no remove karma option?
« on: December 20, 2020, 10:26:31 AM »
For those of you who have used the Bitcointalk forum must have known that they have a trust rating system where other DT members can send positive or negative feed back and they can remove those too if they want to. So why don't we have a similar option in karma. Sometimes we sent negative karma to someone but later he accepts his mistake and ensures not to do the same. So in that case we could remove that negative karma from his post.

This I agree with and noticed recently. Sometimes I want to remove -1 left I left someone, but by doing so I give +1 (instead of removing -1) and therefore the user goes up by +2 and not +1. The only way around this is to wait 100 hours, then you can remove the -1, but this takes too long.

A little button in between + and - karma as simply "0" would be ideal, to remove any negative or positive karma given, rather than giving more.

@Istiak from what I have understood about karma is that it is not like positive or negative feedback, karma points are like merits. They are to reward a constructive post, a good question or a good answer, always within a friendly environment.

This is true, karma is not related to trust. Trust is more related to verified profiles and such.

@Istiak I'm otherwise glad to see you had your karma returned and abusers punished with issuance revoked  :)
