Cryptocurrency Trading / Re: Thoughts on Freelancing in Crypto?
« on: August 19, 2022, 03:46:30 PM »
It's viable. I do some work freelance for a company that pay me in BTC monthly. If dubious you can always insist on partial payment up front or something so you're not empty handed.

I think you can find some good ones that offer great yield returns so if you are planning on a longer term hold then it's a great way to build a bigger bag

Even more common in crypto markets than stock markets for people to buy due to FOMO rather than make considered purchases with risk capital. If you could afford to lose the money then you wouldn't be stressed if price went against you which it always will do at some point if you're in the market long enough.

I think trying to time these markets is a fool's errand personally. If you like the project and can afford to lose the money (which should be the mindset even in a bull market) then buy up at flash sale prices. I do the same with my index fund when the markets crash. If you think they will recover which they tend to do (especially in stocks) then this is where you reward yourself. The main problem is that most crypto investors do so with FOMO when the price is already high.

If you believe in the projects you're invested in then just like stocks you own it's a chance to fill the bag at discount prices.

DRIP and PIGS all within the DRIP ecosystem. I like the dev and the team he has built. Projects he creates and works on always tend to do well and Drip has been running well over a year now. Lots of innovations being brought to the ecosystem very soon as well

Hi there forum. My dad and I decided to see if we could take advantage of the current market dips. We are aiming for a passive investment and possibly passive income type token.  I understand basic cryptocurrency theory and also bits and bobs on how Defi works.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do with 500 USDT at this time in the market? I know this a vague question and I may be waffling, but I might as well start communicating with others on the forum and get some insights. I was thinking of putting all of my money into a DeFi token but im not so sure.

In summary, I guess what I'm trying to ask is:

What altcoins / tokens are you all watching closely right now? And if you had 500USDT, where would you put that to use?

If you had 500 USD, I think you can buy BNB or ETH now.
Current market is going down and I think It's bottom.
Buy more and hold altcoins, You will get profit at the coming months.

I'm certainly bullish on BNB especially. Recent news that Binance has overtaken Coinbase in holdings of BTC and lots being built on BSC as well.

The Drip ecosystem for me. I have Drip and Pigs at the moment and think both will fly again soon. Lots of development happening behind the scenes and new innovations about to be released into the ecosystem.

I would think leave that information in a will for your next of kin to access it if you didn't want to disclose the information to them in life. Seems a sad state of affairs if that's the case but it's a waste otherwise.

That is something I would never do. Leaving that information (private keys included) written can be a serious mistake, since we can never be sure if the person who keeps those files can see the information they contain. Personally, I prefer to give all available information to my family before I die, along with instructions on how to use the wallets in case I don't have time to do so before I die. Anyway there are several ways to do it, and everyone must choose the way that suits them best since it is a very personal decision.

I get that and I would disclose the information to my wife in life was I trust her but you could simply leave a key to a safe with instructions within a will or something so eyes don't fall on the information until such time comes. As you say we have to find the right way depending on our own situations.

Sorting Box / Re: How to find the best cryptocurrency

It depends on your risk tolerance, interests, the state of the market at the time of investing among other things. Looking at the top 10 would be a good start at the moment and seeing which ones you like. Understand which types of project represent which level of risk and maybe diversify across the spectrum. For example some in BTC, ETH, some in stables like USDC, DAI, BUSD and some in DeFi projects.

Loads of places to learn about cryptos and the various ways they work so see if any of those particular things appeal to you and then also think about what is important to you perhaps. It is not too dissimilar to stocks investing in that if there is a problem or niche you are interested in then crypto probably has a project in that area. Failing going into it that deeply look at the main top 10 cryptos and examine what they are doing and think about if you want to add money into those

Bitcoin Forum / Re: No More Panic In This Bitcoin Dip

We certainly have more institutional investors in bitcoin now I think but at this moment in time with the economic climate we should be careful. If, as predicted, we are heading for another global recession we simply don't know how BTC will perform in those conditions as this will be its first one.

28
It won't ever be allowed to without regulation and I don't see how you can effectively regulate BTC to the extent the governments will want to.

Sorting Box / Re: What Got You Interested In Crypto?

I got introduced to crypto via a crypto called Electroneum which was looking to "enable the unbanked" by offering a mobile mining service which later became a kind of work to earn type thing. What intrigued me was the idea of breaking away from the traditional banking sector and that led me to explore more crypto from there. I ended up selling the ETN as I kind of lost faith in the project but it set the wheels in motion for me to explore what crypto can do. Ultimately I want to make money but I am fascinated by the technological implications of blockchain technology on the world.
