Cryptocurrency Trading / Re: HOLDING VS TAKING PROFITS
« on: July 25, 2022, 08:18:55 AM »
I think you should be doing both at the moment. Hold a portion as an investment for the future but also keep taking your trading profits on a regular basis to reduce the risk. This is the best thing to do in the current market situation in my opinion.

It is risky, and if it was not, everyone would have been doing it. By understanding how the market works and what are the potential risks involved, one can save oneself from one’s doomsday. Otherwise, it is difficult to trade. Because crypto is going mainstream, there are a lot of scams too.
You need to beware of them.

Thank you for sharing these podcasts and books. I was looking for an informative yet entertaining way to educate myself on cryptocurrencies, and finally found such great sources.

The crypto currency is not just about HODLING. If you have some spare time, you can get into it and all the related details. You can also prefer to trade cryptocurrencies. There are many traders who take advantage of minor market fluctuations to make profits.

Cryptocurrency Trading / Re: Are alt coins a good investment?
« on: July 22, 2022, 12:05:39 PM »
Yes and No. Alt coins are great investments but with the risk of losing money. With the ongoing "cryptocurrency rush", new cryptocurrencies are being launched every day. These are collectively called "altcoins". Altcoins are essentially an alternative to Bitcoin, available to anyone willing to invest in them. They can be bought and sold for dollars and can be used as a means of payment for goods and services. They have, however, greatly fluctuated in value on the exchanges, from being worth pennies to being worth more than Bitcoin itself.

When the market is down, I look for coins which seem to be profitable in the future. Does the coin hold a chance of recovering and making a better price after the crash? I check the security of the coin’s network, and do a thorough research on every required aspect. Then, if I find it suitable I increase the holdings of my coin, or buy a new coin.

My recent purchase is ethereum. Compared to the beginning of the month, the value of ethereum has dropped significantly in the last 6 months. Currently it is in the lowest state, although its recent performance (if we look into individual days) is quite assured. I bought BTC last month in June 2022, when it was down to $990. It is always a good decision to buy in bear markets, and looking at ethereum, which holds the second position after BTC, I think my decision hopefully won’t bring any major loss if I hold for a long term.

In 2022, there will be a lot of new cryptocurrency projects, therefore I want to become involved and start investing in more of them right away. The Metaverse, P2e Games, and Web3 merit consideration. There are a lot of meme coins as well; I'll actually buy more coins to keep for at least the next 12 months.

These so called cryptos are known as CBDC which are not based on blockchains. So basically CBDC is just a digital currency but a cryptocurrency.

The Russia-Ukraine War led to an initial short-term effect on the cryptocurrency market, especially when Ukraine announced that they would accept international aid through cryptocurrency as well. However, there seems to be no crucial long term effect, except it might cause problems for Russian citizens.

Russian residents are increasingly relying on cryptocurrencies, since the Russian currency has plummeted to record lows as a result of global sanctions imposed in response to the Ukrainian incursion. However, in the midst of the ongoing conflict with Ukraine, Russia's central bank has once again urged the government to impose a blanket ban on cryptocurrencies, since the Russian authorities believe cryptocurrencies are extremely hazardous. If Russia decides to outlaw cryptocurrency, Russian residents residing in foreign countries, who are likely to hold cryptos practically worth nearly 2Trillion Rubles, will be affected.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Do we Need Altcoin?
« on: July 18, 2022, 12:44:30 PM »
Bitcoin was released as the first crypto coin. After the success of bitcoin, several other crypto coins were released based on the same bitcoin blockchain, or variation of this blockchain. Altcoins was released with the hope that it will be as successful as bitcoin, or might even take over bitcoin. The prime motive of safe, fast, and hassle-free transaction of money is almost the same for all altcoins.
Although most of us crypto holders agree that bitcoin is the prime crypto above all others, most of us invest in alt coins for two main reasons -
  • As a source of extra investment income
For security in case bitcoin crashes
Although it might look like the reasons are not so strong enough, the continuous growth of altcoins do prove the importance of their need.

Cryptocurrency Trading / Re: Best Trading Rules Ever

You do better when you set your own trading rules. Explore the market the way you want to try to apply different strategies until you have gained experience to decide what to do and what not to.

It seems like a tough time for the traders because the market is only showing downward movements. There is nothing much that we can say about it but hodling does seem like a better option.
