Should not Canelo retire, at least for some time? I have been hearing his name for a long time already. I assume he has earned from boxing so much money already, that it takes him time to think where to spend them. Isnt he tired of winning everyone in his division? No matter who he faces, he wins in a dominant manner (if we talk only about his division). Almost 20 years in boxing, 60+ professional fights. How long is he planning to box more? Do people still interested in watching him winning? Because every time I see his name, people only discuss how he will win and who he will face next, and how he will win again.

He is what we call the "cash-cow" in boxing, meaning every fight, he is the A-side and can command huge amount of money because fans are willing to watch him live and thru PPV. Yes, he has been in the boxing for many years and enjoying his life as he could be worth millions already.

Really hard to say when he is going to quit because he can still fight. Maybe if he losses to Munguia, then he can contemplate of retiring. But as of now, perhaps a good 3-4 fights left in him.

News related to Crypto / Re: After Sam, Former FTX Associates Are Next

Those who cooperated with the authorities will receive very little or no punishment, because this is probably part of the settlement that included placing most of the blame on their boss. I would not be surprised if all of them together receive a total sentence of less than 25 years, given that they will be sentenced by the same judge who, for me personally, has absolutely no sense of justly punishing criminals.

The lesson that the majority will certainly not learn is that people like Bankman should not be trusted, which means that it is only a matter of time before a similar story will be repeated with some other actors.

Yes, this likely will be the sentencing here, I reckon it will be 10 years to 15 years to those who have cooperated or at least be the star witnessed against SBF.

And their judges could have work lighter sentencing even before the start of trial that's why the 4 of them really pin point all the blame to SBF and picture him as like controlling everything from the start and knows what he is entering. Still though, they won't get away from it and they have to suffer jail time, albeit less than SBF.

Anyone seen tweets of Ryan Garcia? Another sign that he could still be in a lot of mental stress lately as he is like saying that there will be earthquakes all over the world. I know that we have recently had one in Taiwan and NY and he said that next is LA. In any case you will be the judge.
~snip~
https://twitter.com/RyanGarcia/status/1776313840633868749

Lol, hope that he is doing okay as the fight is merely 10 days away, don't want this big fight of him to be cancelled because of that mysterious tweet of him hehe.

That will be crazy but not totally surprised as again, it seems that Ryan is losing his mind again with that kind of out of this world tweets and it has nothing to do with boxing whatsoever.

On the other hand, if you look at Haney, he is laser focus, and the different between him and Ryan is that he is is chasing greatness. And we can't deny that, at a very young age, he has accomplished at lot as let's say compare to Floyd at his age. Haney has been a champion and still a champion at his new division.

Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's maximum block size
« on: April 08, 2024, 01:23:42 PM »
As you might know, Bitcoin sometimes got criticized due to relative high TX fee and small block size. Despite SegWit upgrade which allow a bit bigger block size (up to 1 vMB or 4 kWu/million weight), some people feel it's not enough and there's need for bigger block size. While other option such as LN and sidechain exist, there aren't many service or wallet which support either those. Now here are my question,

1. Do you support increasing Bitcoin maximum block size?
2. If yes, what factor should be considered when choosing new maximum size?

1. No, I think Bitcoin should remain as it is in terms of block size. It has proven already that it will create a lot of schism inside the community and we wouldn't want to go there again. And look at how many Bitcoin forks we had, block blockers but they don't have the support of the community and some of them even die a natural death.

2. No, refer to my first answer.

I think majority of us was really affected by the pandemic, majority of us loss a love one a friend, someone we know and that's really devastated the whole world. But for those of us who survived, we should continue to go and move forward. That is life, we might not want what we have seen with the pandemic, but as humans, we are resilience, we should press on and continue to live and let us enjoy the memories of the loved ones we lost.

Been years though, and I think by now there are challenges to face, but hopefully there will be no pandemic in the next coming years. And we do hope that everyone is on the road to recovery.

Nonetheless, the effect on the market is not that significant, sure it goes down a bit. Investors though as intelligent enough to take advantage of that situation and buy it. So even if some of us see the US government moving it and selling regardless of the price, it is not enough to put a dent on the market.
It cannot be denied that there is still an influence on the market. Yes, at least, market conditions have recently experienced a slight decline, whether because of the news that continues with the sale of confiscated Bitcoins, or because of the effects of other conditions. Or a combination of several conditions. But what is certain is that the market response is not that panic, and this is very good. because perhaps most investors already understand this cycle and the possibility of manipulation to make the market down before the halving. So, the market won't drop too far because there are still many investors who strictly store their BTC without panic.

There will be always news that will really impact the market, but what I'm saying is that when we are in a bullrun, this kinds of news might have negligible effect as compare to let's say when we are in bearish market as it could have a big impact.

Manipulation is overrated though, not sure if there are whales that can really manipulate the price. Only way that I can see them influence is that when they put large sell orders in an exchange that everyone will see and maybe others will panic specially newbies. But at the end of the day, still up to us on how to used this kind of news to our advantage.

I read that why Canelo give Munguia the chance and not Benavidez is that Jaime is respectful to Canelo as compare to the Benavidez who really attack hm personally. They now even joke that the next time they see or negotiate with Canelo, they will bring him flowers. So that is another attack so now sure if Canelo will give what they deserve.

Munguia being Mexican said that one of his idol is Canelo. But don't get him wrong though, he will do his best when him and Canelo face in the ring this Cinco De Mayo weekend.

Bounties are not very good at the moment, there are no good enough payouts for participants except signature campaigns. But you can switch to airdrops because some projects provide considerable incentives for early adopters. Usually working on Tesnet Network, I still participate on ZkSync and some other networks.

You are definitely right. With the usual bounties gone and may not even be coming back even with the bullish market in, opportunities to earn Bitcoin or cryptocurrency is getting slimmer these days. We can never go back to the 2017 days where almost all ICOs really made money, made it to the exchanges and got some value along the way (though of them eventually died and evaporated months after). Today, the market has shifted towards airdrops involving tasks and testnet but with so many new projects going on it can be hard to keep up and there is no way to know which will really make it to exchanges and gain value for their coins or tokens. In other words, risks are always following us whatever we do and wherever we go.

Yes, although there are still a lot of bounties in the last couple of years, it is not like 2017 wherein bounty hunting is a like a thing to us, and for some it is their job and probably it really open the flood gates for many users to cheat campaigns but the good thing is that they are caught.

As for making money on Bitcoin, I do agree that it's not going to be easy. The media even portray it like a scam, but we all know that is not true as scams as get rich quick scheme. But Bitcoin is not, there is a learning curve and then you also need to have some money if you want to trade in the beginning.

Why is the IMF pressuring Ukraine though? I mean they are still at war right? What benefits will the Ukrainian government will get if they finalized crypto legislation? I'm thinking that maybe after the war or during the war itself, maybe crypto will be the new gold and that it will help Ukraine recover from the devastation of war.

On the other hand, we have heard a lot of Ukrainian hacking and scamming groups being dismantled already, but still they become a safe haven for this criminals. So perhaps hardening their crypto laws might give them more tooth on combating this groups and give then harsher punishment.

If the US government decides to sell these assets, it means they are licking their lips by confirming that the money will be a legitimate profit for them. Confiscated money should be something that settles in the burn, not to be used unilaterally like that. Even though the regulations do not take sides in the middle, I think they must still respect the existence of many eyes monitoring every case they handle.

The US government should not be able to exchange or move these assets anywhere, except to burning wallets. Panic that occurs due to BTC transactions from large wallets often occurs, and I think the dump that occurs will not last long, it will make BTC recover again after the dump due to large-scale selling.
The fact that the US government also sells this illicit BTC and adds it to the national budget. BTC is also considered a type of seized asset and there is no regulation requiring that it be burned or frozen permanently. I myself would like the US government to hold this BTC as a form of national reserve, as Gold, rather than selling it off to use the way they are wasting taxpayer money.

I'm not sure if there is any correlation between the drop in BTC price and the movements of BTC from the US government, but such events have an impact on the media and the psychology of crypto investors.

I can't remember, but I think the US government used to auctions this seized Bitcoin right? And that's where this early bagholders was able to buy it cheap because before US is selling it at a lower price, below the market. But perhaps they realized that they have been doing it wrong and now themselves are moving it in any exchanges and sell it.

Nonetheless, the effect on the market is not that significant, sure it goes down a bit. Investors though as intelligent enough to take advantage of that situation and buy it. So even if some of us see the US government moving it and selling regardless of the price, it is not enough to put a dent on the market.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: The impact of crypto on our lives
« on: April 07, 2024, 11:03:01 AM »

I don't say anything to my neighbors here in our area, as long as they know I'm doing online business. Although I have other neighbors here who are surprised that I don't have a job, that I can survive, and that I consume more electricity than them,.

Then I can buy things that they can't even imagine, and they will see that I spend more than ordinary employees in our country. Because they don't even need to know that I'm making money from cryptocurrency.
You really already have quite a large income from the crypto world, that's very good. I also get additional income from holding and trading in the crypto world, this is very profitable. But I do have a job in the real world, so the neighbors don't suspect anything

In my neighborhood, I think I have told about crypto since before the pandemic strike, so some of them might have been holding or no longer in crypto. Because when I spoke to one of them, they say that the exchange that they used is asking for to much documentation and just like any other average joe, they don't want to submit.

But from time to time I remind of them of crypto specially Bitcoin is one of the best investment they will have in their lives. And so with the incoming bullrun, they could make a lot of money. That is the best thing that I can do though, it's really up to them whether they will listen to me again or not going to be interested this time although in the last bull run, some of them told me they make money so this is just a repeat for them.

Cryptocurrency Trading / Re: Do not neglect fundamental analysis.
« on: April 07, 2024, 10:05:15 AM »
I think both are equally important for a trader.

One needs to be aware of everything happening in the market to have a clear understanding of the movements happening at any time so that they don't place their trades at the wrong time and incur losses.
One needs to have technical knowledge so that they can analyze the charts, statistics, and figures to understand the movements of the market from the past and in which direction it will move next.

Combining both can make someone reduce the risks of failure and eventually become a more successful trader.

Yes, I do agree both are equally important. fundamentals is more on the intrinsic value and so it will remain constant. While technical knowledge encompasses daily to even long term perspective. That why we have day or intra day traders which is very difficult in my opinion but with the aid of technical analysis, they can identify the trend, thus making sound judgement to make money.

So if I will be trader, which I do before, I will take this two in consideration, and as far as my experience goes, if they are in opposite direction, I will just observed the movement first before making my moved.

Nothing new, and since Singapore is one crypto hub not just in Asia, they will have at some point in time regulate digital payment token (DPT) service providers. So that includes crypto exchange whether local or international. The good thing about Singaporean government is that they are really strict on implementing their laws. If no one is aware of or has not been in Singapore, is it a "fine city".

Meaning even throwing a gum is prohibited or smoking on public places. And if you are caught, you are going to pay a hefty fine and you are lucky if you will not get any jail sentence even if you are a foreigner.

And this is what Canelo says for his fans and detractors alike,

https://twitter.com/MichaelBensonn/status/1775939676144115840

So this is just my personal opinion, sooner or later he will go after Benavidez, but it should be at 168 lbs and Benavidez is moving up to 175 lbs and stop chasing Canelo for now.

What are your thoughts? Canelo vs Benavidez in the future or no?

Why wait though when he can have Benavidez this year? He severe his ties with PBC so that he can stay away fro Benavidez, so that is a clear duck already. And then fighting Mexican in Jaime Munguia? Which he said that he won't be fighting another Mexican?

And the next schedule fight for him is Berlanga? So that clearly shows that Canelo doesn't want no part of David Benavidez at least for this year. But David is making his own, moving up to 175 lbs and not wanting to wait for Canelo as he might not have given Benavidez that chance next year.

Yes, for boxing fans, it doesn't make sense as Canelo is no longer chasing greatness as he think that he has achieved it already. And so with that, he is looking for less risk higher rewards.

Canelo is not getting any younger as well, he has wear and tear already and that's why he wanted to avoid Benavidez at all cost without damaging his health and at the same time making good money. And I guess he will stand with that $150m-$200m money he want to fight Benavidez but not sure if here will be a promoter that is willing to give him that big money.
The great Chavez Sr. is not like that even in his old age he still fighting young warriors, Canelo just wants to make a lot of money right now because he knows that his time will be over because there are a lot of past rising fighters like David Morell, but he cannot keep ignoring good fighters like Benavidez he will eventually have to deal with him or retire because he will run out of second-grade opponents.

They are cut on a different breed, that's where we got the Mexican warrior, and I think the last boxers that we have seen is MAB, Morales and JMM. After that, all Mexicans like becoming not soft but cherry picking fights.

There is a argument though that why Benavidez not fighting Morell. I think the answer could be that Morell is not known as compare to Benavidez who has a following in the US already and Mexican heritage and so Canelo should fight him instead of Jaime Munguia.
