Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: What do you think of TON blockchain?
« on: April 03, 2024, 03:01:04 PM »
When you want to compare a project like TON — “The Open Network” — comparing it to Solana is not realistic, as the project aims to enable fast transactions and support a wide range of decentralized applications (dApps). It is similar to XRP, as both are not intended for speculation, and both projects were pursued by the Securities and Exchange Commission. The United States (SEC) made TON work as a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) and there is wTON on the Ethereum blockchain.

The comparison result shows that TON is not a good for long term, but you can use it to speculate before news happens just like you do with XRP.

Litecoin Forum / Why does LTCN keep rising?
« on: April 02, 2024, 02:56:56 PM »
Buying LTCN means owning about 0.085 LTC per share with a NAV of approximately $9, and with the SEC announcing its lack of intention to approve new ETF products, which means it will be difficult to convert it to a converting to spot ETF during the coming period, all of these must put pressure on the price. However gains are strong, does anyone know why or am I missing something?

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Mempool Observer - Discussion about Bitcoin Fees
« on: April 02, 2024, 02:22:49 PM »
The basis for that is the market cap and volume and I agree that if it's. But if it's about the use case of it, I still enjoy it using for transactions. I guess that we'd get to see it drop some more of the ranks as it seems to be dropping and can't soar unlike the other cryptos. If it's about long term, I'd still pick this than any of the memes.
Circulating supply for many cryptocurrencies can be easily manipulated. As for Litecoin, the coin is still in good stead but its use cases are limited which make its value diminish. Low fees are the only advantage of LTC but even Bitcoin (in these days) you can broadcast a transaction for 15 sat/vByte and get confirmation in less than 20 min.

234Th/s and a price of $5,549.00 is a strong blow for S21 and the time was well chosen, especially with the increase in the price of Bitcoin, so Whatsminer should offer something cheaper than $8,000 before next Q3/4.
The problem is that the closest competitors offer 150Th/s - 170Th/s at a price between $4000 and $5000, so improving efficiency will be necessary.

If we take the FDIC as an example of bodies that guarantee customer funds, it has a limit of $250,000, and it does not insure all deposits. Even this limit cannot be guaranteed, as an insurance institution does not receive any appropriations from Congress, and if there was a collective failure of all banks, it would not be able to cover customer funds, and here it is the government that Intervene to fulfill these obligations.

If the same thing happens to cryptocurrencies, funds like SAFU can help with small and medium losses, but if the platform fails and all reserves are stolen, there is no guarantee capable of insuring customers’ money, and the government will not intervene to save your money, and it will bear the entire loss, no matter how huge the insurance fund is.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: "Bitcoiners" film
« on: March 25, 2024, 01:00:34 PM »
What could be fun about such films? If you are not planning to pay, there are similar films such as Lost Drive, Deep Web and Silk Road. There is a film about a couple who stole Bitcoin from their manager, but I do not remember its name.

sorry, I'm a little confused by the sentence I quoted, how is that? Can you give a detailed description, because this is really the first time I heard, hacking without taking any action using USB and cable tools.
Honestly, I used USB and never thought that it could copy automatically without our actions from someone else's PC,
I think you mean keylogger, which is a software that records all data as soon as you connect it to your computer, so be careful.

I found this

It is an advanced type of USB Rubber Ducky, where the device recognizes it as a keyboard, but it works in the background to record all the data. It is sold for $60 and some copies have the ability to stream data via Wi-Fi, so it is best to avoid inserting any USB in this way.

Technical Discussion / Re: Understanding Ethereum Gas
« on: March 22, 2024, 07:38:31 PM »
How are gas fees a solution to DDOS attacks? Without filtering transactions, gas fees cannot be a solution. On the contrary, they may cause the inability to broadcast transactions, even if they are with higher fees.

You answered the question by yourself.
Gas fees cause the "inability to broadcast transactions".

Transactions become so expensive, that only billionaires could perform a DDOS attack to ethereum protocol. And they coudn't do it for long... because it is expensive.
In the same way, normal users will not be able to broadcast the transaction due to the high fees, and if the fees decrease, the DDOS attack will return.
Success in stopping these attacks lies in blocking or removing addresses that cause spam or from broadcasting transactions, and gas fees do not have a mechanism to create such filters, so they will not prevent DDOS attacks.

Technical Discussion / Re: Address types
« on: March 20, 2024, 09:27:05 PM »
Knowing the account type is an essential part of calculating your fees correctly, and if you do not overpay to do this, you must know the Transaction size.

This table below will show you the basic differences and how to calculate them manually, but you can use the tool https://bitcoinops.org/en/tools/calc-size/ that will help you do this directly.

Type         |  Input  vbyte | Output vbyte |  transaction vbyte
-------------------------+----------------- +----------------------+--------------------------
       Legacy         |      140        |            34          |           192
         segwit        |        93        |           32           |           134
 Native segwit      |        68        |           31           |         109.5
          P2TR         |      57.5       |           43           |           111

If you notice that for the same number of input and output addresses, the transaction size differs because we use a different address type or in other words Using an address type saves more fees than other types, so it is always recommended to use addresses starting with bc1 to reduce fees.

The wallet performs this step automatically, so if you do not understand it, always remember to use an address that begins with bc1.

After using the address, you need to search for the appropriate fees, which are what you find in mempool priorities. These fees are an estimate of the time that you have to wait, but this time may differ from the truth, and we can say that the difference between them is:

  • Low Priority: There is a high probability that your transaction will be confirmed within 30-60 minutes
  • Medium Priority: There is a high probability that your transaction will be confirmed within 20-30 minutes
  • High Priority: There is a high probability that your transaction will be confirmed within 10-20 minutes

They are all guesses.

If you are in a hurry to confirm your transaction, use the bc1 address open https://mempool.space and set the High Priority fee (more than these fees will help confirm your transaction, but do not pay much more than them. If it is 90, put in your wallet any number between 90 and 120)

This way, you will be able to calculate your fees correctly and know whether you are paying the appropriate fees or not.
I've already talked about the topic here

I used to think that Gwei is the smallest unit of something like a satoshi, not Gwei.

Does anyone know why POS was promoted as solving the problem of high fees?

Fees are low, it is an opportunity to group your inputs and/or open LN channels.
