I have cryptos like btc, eth, and lite but never done anything with the smaller alt coins.

if you already have BTC, ETH and Lite, I thinks those are enough to hodl as an investor. You really do not need to invest in other new altcoins that you are unsure of. You can be wasting the money that you should have been using for increasing the investment you have in Bitcoins, and the other coins you already have.

 Focus on learning on about how to increase and secure what you have invested in, not seeking to invest in new coins.

I believe that you are trying to suggest ways to prevent gambling addiction, but your choice of words and use of sentences in expressing yourself has made your point more difficult to understand @OP.

Managing your time and managing your resources is a part of the discipline required to prevent addiction, but it is not all. There are also some required other little things like avoiding people who are neck deep into gambling and do not see addiction as a problem. If you keep interacting with people who do not see addiction as a problem, you will in no time start thinking like them and not see addiction as a problem and something to avoid.

What I just yet do not like about this forum is that it has no notification on almost all boards. That makes it hard for me to track new topics and replies.

I believe that the forum will improve with just time, as some members from bitcointalk have migrated here, there are already signs of improvement, as more suggestions on how to improve this forum are made, the admin will certainly take it into action.

If these people make use of online banking services then they already understand that it is possible for currency to be quickly moved from one place then they can simply understand what bitcoin is, the only difference being that it is not controlled by the government. They may question the legitimacy and reputation of bitcoins because the creator is unknown and also because the government has a different opinion on it.

Tell them about the history of bitcoins and how long it has lasted regardless of all the negative events against it, tell them why it will not be possible for the government to shut it down. If they still do not believe because they are just proving difficult, do not stress yourself on them.
