Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Top Altcoins Safer For Newbies

Before investing in any project or coin, it's better to do a little research about that project first before investing, I see alot noobs who are new to crypto, they want to get rich real fast, I guess they have heard some stories of people who made it with crypto, so they join crypto with the mindset that crypto is a get rich quick scheme forgetting that there are cons in everything, it's always advisable to ask people  who have had some experience investing in projects, in other words "Research before investing".

...On the Google form is something else, they were asking for our trust wallet Recovery phrase.
This is exactly a scam.
A scam will always ask you several things that are very annoying and also important details, such as:
1. Asking for the important and crucial details like private key, PIN, Password, recovery phrase, and others.
2. Asking you to deposit funds in order to withdraw.
After you deposit it, they will be gone.
3. Promising for high profits
It is like when they do a scam investment, they promise us big profits that will really attract many people, especially the newbies.
4. Giving big rewards
It also happens on the scam that they run ta program and the participants will get very high rewards by doing easy tasks.

If you meet at least those 4, it is better to leave it, because it is commonly and mostly a scam.
Nice points, I think you can make a topic on how to identify fake airdrops with these few points you listed, I bet it will be really helpful to newbies, so they can be able to identify fake airdrops when they see one and stay away from them.
Infact there are many scammers around and when we talk about airdrops there are many fake ones who are infact try to steal your data to hack your wallet or use your data to claim rewards from other campaigns.
So do not be greedy and be watchful all the time online.
Airdrops are now a shadow of itself, unlike back then, scammers tend to  take advantage of anything in other exploit  and loot money from people, we just have to be careful.
This type of scam has been around since the early days of crypto wallets, I I also doubt exchanges that required users' private keys.
Participating in the Bounty or Airdrop is your own decision, but never hand over your wallet's private key/seed phase/password to others. It's the fastest way to lose all of your wallet's assets :)
Haha, I'll never do such, thanks alot for the advice, will just stay away from any airdrop that looks suspicious.

That was obviously a scam attempt mate, You were lucky that you notice it early and not falling under the spill of the $35K reward as a bait prize, I hope that there will be no single airdrop hunters was fell for that trap, in that fake Leo Finance airdrop next time don't just easily join to any airdrops just make some confirmation first preferably ask the in their Telegram Group.
I hope no one fell for that tho, about an hour after they posted their address, I checked it on Etherscan to see if any airdropper fell for the trick, but I didn't see any transaction on that address so it seems like they didn't get anyone, I guess that's the reason why they posted another scam post claiming that they want to verify the airdroppers to avoid cheating, they say each airdropper should send 1eth to an address, then they are going to confirm and send the airdropper 5 eth plus the 1eth they sent, that makes it a total of 6,immediately I left the channel, scammers are never going to get tired of stealing I guess.

I stopped participating on airdrop since they no longer have value and most of the time, they don't pay, you can participate on legit ones from Airdrop detectives.
You have to be careful when some project offer airdrop, there are many of them in this space with scam tactics, they knew airdrop members don't really have knowledge about cryptocurrency that's why they used this tactics to fraud and prey on innocent people.
By the way, why don't you just try Bounty, they are more profitable than airdrop though it will require a little of your time.
I might give them a try, but I no longer trust airdrops, only a few of them eventually pays their bounty hunters, and I have came across a few airdrops where they said the members of the group should send a particular amount of Eth to a wallet for them to get verified, their excuse is that they don't want cheating, I just left there immediately I saw that message, airdrop is a shadow of its self now since scammers came on board.

There are a lot of airdrop scams in my opinion, there are various ways they cheat, from asking for prhase to sending eth, trx, doge on the grounds of a fee, one friend said if one airdrop asks for a fee leave them it ,cos they are must be a scam project,
Your friend is right, any airdrop team that asks for a small amount of money in exchange for their token is a scam.
There are equally good and genuine  opportunities to earn passively with the little funds one has, personally    I earn a good APR up to 23% by staking $AWC on my desktop wallet from atomicwallet.io

Wow, that's great, I will do a little research about this, but thanks for informing me  :D.

Thats the way it has always been, there will always be the good guys and the bad guys, there will always be people who want to bend the law and vice versa, it's just humans doing their thing, hope you know there are also scammers who steal the traditional fiat, so they are just everywhere, they don't want to work for their own money, they prefer to steal, "reap from where they didn't sow".

It's a good thing kucoin agreed to refund all users who lost their funds due to the hack. Thanks to the funds they set aside for insurance purposes. Last time I checked, The hacker has liquidated majority of the funds albeit the ones that some projects like Tether freezed.

The Kucoin hack is just another friendly reminder that if it's not your keys, it's not your crypto. It might not be kucoin next time. Victims of cryptopia exchange wasn't compensated till date.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: THE RUSH ON Binance smart chain

I think the reason is about the expensive Ethereum Network transaction fees, Actually, until now the transaction fees are not yet normalized and even sending a few tokens can cost you more than $1 unlike before it's just only $0.10 - $0.50 cents.

That's just for sending tokens from a wallet. If you want to interact with smart contracts or protocols like uniswap, 1nch etc, The fees multiply by 20x to 30x. It's insane. I wanted to get a taste of DeFi and decided to try one of the protocols and provide liquidity. What happened? I was charged around $50 to interact with. What if I repeat the transaction 10 times? That's a solid $500 in transactions fee. This leaves a bad taste in everyone's mouth especially if they're new users. This is why we need ETH 2.0 to be launched asap.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: How to make money just by browsing?
« on: October 17, 2020, 11:47:58 AM »
It's true that you won't get rich quick just because you're a brave browser user. But compared to chrome, brave is 10x more better. Aside from the regular drops of BAT tokens in your rewards wallet, Its also faster. The amount might be small but in the long run, it does add up. $5 - $10 monthly for just using the browser is real good.

Just checked out the announcement. Simplechain looks interesting. One of the the major issues that still hinders crypto adoption is because of its technicality. Not many people can set up the basics - like nodes. etc.

I noticed one thing though, there isn't an information about a public sale on the ann. Or there isn't any?

This a really nice feature been added to kucoin exchange, binance had it already and I have been using all my crypto dust to bnb and it has been really helpful, some times you will be amazed how much its worth after you turn all those dust into one, nice one kucoin team.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Successful bounties
« on: October 17, 2020, 08:27:06 AM »
Among all the bounties listed here, the only bounty that caught my attention was DIA, salute to bubblemedia and DIA team for not failing their bounty hunters, they paid real well, and a few of them you counted here shouldn't be here, I won't say a bounty campaign is successful just because they paid their token which is stuck in my wallet and no way to exchange it, rather successful projects are those ones that actually paid and still got listed on exchanges, where the bounty hunters can actually trade them for other crypto.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Is this the new style of crypto scam?
« on: October 17, 2020, 08:08:43 AM »
Hey guys, i was just scrolling through Twitter a few days ago, then i found an airdrop  it looked quite promising, so i decided to give it a try,  i fulfilled all the airdrop requirements, and was waiting patiently for the airdrop distribution which was supposed to take place yesterday,  on reaching yesterday, I went on telegram to see how well the project is growing and because they promised to list on uniswap that same yesterday, when I got to their telegram channel, i started seeing something fishy, like they told us to fill another form for a giveaway, when I clicked the link to the form, the requirements  ??? On the Google form is something else, they were asking for our trust wallet Recovery phrase.
Here's a screenshot of the form:
1. https://postimg.cc/zHw1P9Cg
2. https://postimg.cc/cKzR7s9N
Their telegram channel had 12k+ subscribers : https://postimg.cc/t1rj2cWb
Those are the screenshots of the Google form, immediately I saw the recovery phrase, it was clear that it was a scam, it seems like everyday scammers keep bring new ideas and ways to exploit and steal crypto from people, we should be really careful and guide our crypto well, and try not to fall for for scams like this :(.

Well, if you ask me, theres a high possibility that eth will definitely reach $500, and can also go really high as to hit the $1k+ mark, of course it's impossible to achieve at the moment since there has been several delays with the ETH 2.0 deployment, they are still testing, but I have full confidence that after it has been deployed, eth will surely beat $500 mark, or maybe $1k too .  ::)

Cryptocurrency Price Speculations / Re: it's time to buy ethereum
« on: October 16, 2020, 12:41:52 AM »
Even after Ethereum hasn't made any good move in the past few weeks, I still believe its still a good time to buy and invest more in it, cus i believe with the ETH 2.0 deployment which is set to take place any time soon, the price will definitely skyrocket, I'm expecting it to reach at least 700 usd,at the time posting this, the price is of 1eth is $376, and it still looks like a good time to buy more, if you ask me ;).
