The development of own cryptocurrencies is about to become a trend among football stars, as Ronaldinho is the next in line with his RSC coin.

Former Brazilian footballer Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, known as Ronaldinho, is not staying aloof from the cryptocurrency hype and announced the launch of his own crypto-coin.

His announcement was made via YouTube on Ronaldinho’s Twitter account on July 6, 2018, the same day when Brazil’s national football team, where Ronaldinho used to play until 2013, lost to Belgium in the quarterfinals of the 2018 World Cup.

This crypto will be used in conjunction with digital VR stadiums around the world to create a global football academy, powered by blockchain. The project is titled Ronaldinho Soccer Coin, formerly World Soccer Coin prior to inking the partnership with the football superstar.

The stadiums will be developed in 300 locations around the world, with facilities planned for countries in Africa, S.E. Asia, and the Middle East over the next three years. These stadiums could host matches, operate markets and betting platforms, as well as use a blockchain to compile an online database of players and stats.

HitBTC / John McAfee Prepares For Legal Battle Against Crypto Exchange HitBTC

Cybersecurity pioneer and crypto fanatic John McAfee have declared his readiness to file legal charges against HITBTC after the exchange allegedly refused to yield to his complaints.

It all started when Mcfee in one of his tweets called for an outright boycott of Hitbtc and he urges his social media followers to take a hard look at crypto exchanges, especially Hitbtc.

According to McAfee, HitBTC hasn’t done anything to help people “access the only free healthcare in the world,” and is responsible for costing people in the cryptocurrency community money and is liable for the “death of untold people.” He attacked HitBTC for having minimum buy-in fees that are quite expensive for some users.

HitBTC, in turn, replied to McAfee’s accusations on Twitter. The exchange mockingly thanked him for raising the problem and being the voice of the community.

Replying to HitBTC, McAfee threatened to fund a $20 million lawsuit that could bring the company down.

McAfee claims to have written 11-12 messages to the cryptocurrency exchange, and only receive one reply in the end. While the time that McAfee plans to fire his charges cannot be ascertained, the crypto enthusiast is gathering more information from those affected by HitBTC services

Binance / Binance CEO Fires Back at Vitalik Buterin’s “Burn in Hell” Comment

The CEO of Binance is pushing back against Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin’s recent comments on centralized exchanges.

Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin attacked the issue of centralized exchanges by stating that “I definitely hope centralized exchanges go burn in hell as much as possible”. Buterin’s comments caught the attention of Binance CEO Changpeng “CZ” Zhao who responds to Buterin on Twitter.

“Let’s not wish others to ‘burn in hell’. Let’s have a bigger heart, and appreciate the fact that we are all part of an eco-system, not independent projects,” Zhao announced.

CZ continues to reiterate that without centralization, all coins would have less liquidity, the industry would be smaller and the industry would develop slower.
Probably all by more than 10x. Just because someone else is doing the lowly grunt work, doesn’t make them dirty.”

“Don’t get me wrong, I am all for blockchain/decentralization/freedom. But I would not wish ‘burn in hell’ on anyone or anything. That’s just not a nice thing to say, even if it was said by Vitalik. I didn’t bother asking him yet, I assume he just meant he didn’t like centralization, which is fine.”

Bancor Struggles to Recover Lost Tokens, Urges Market Players to Collaborate Against Hackers
Bancor, a Swiss decentralized cryptocurrency and token generation platform, was hit with an attack earlier this week as the company lost more than $13.5 million worth of cryptocurrency to hackers.

However, Bancor is now struggling to rectify the situation, as they collaborate with other players to track the stolen funds.

One important collaborator could be Changelly, as some of the hacked funds are believed to have been converted into fiat by using the quick exchange provider Changelly.

According to Nate Hindman, head of communications at Bancor, Bancor is coordinating with several entities to produce tools and technology that will help the cryptocurrency community to react quickly and effectively when attacks occur in the future.

“These mechanisms include a real-time blacklist that tracks offending addresses and stolen assets, as well as an emergency fund that compensates projects when thefts occur. There is plenty more to do here and we look forward to working with our peers across the industry to make everyone stronger and smarter as we move forward together.

MyEtherWallet / MyEtherWallet Urges Hola Users to Move Funds After Been Attacked through VPN

MyEtherWallet, one of the internet’s most popular services for managing cryptocurrencies, suffered a serious security breach for the second time this year.

After a couple of breaches and a close call, MyEtherWallet (MEW) apparently is playing safe and is warning its users about every possible threat that could come their way.

Hola’s Chrome extension seems to be in more danger. In a tweet, MEW urged them to transfer funds immediately to a newly-created account.

The company said that Hola was compromised for a period of five hours, during which time any Hola users who navigated to MEW and accessed their wallet with the VPN switched on may have been affected.

It isn’t yet clear how many users were hit, but the situation recalls a similar incident in February when MEW was affected by a DNS attack that saw at least $365,000 of crypto stolen from users.
