I think they are doing this to help the Naira's value, but I don't think that's the problem. Delisting the Naira from P2P exchanges doesn't mean it's going to help its value. Also, exchanges like Bitget and Bybit still support Naira P2P, and I know there are more exchanges that still do that. Moreover, more people are getting to know about crypto in Nigeria.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: What Altcoins Do you have?

Hmm never bought a meme coin in my time here. I believe that investing in Meme coins is almost equals to gambling because they are just so volatile that once they are at the top and in the next moment they are making you a huge lose. Once I get some meme coin as a reward due to some activities on the base network. You can say it was an airdrop, and the amount was high 5 seconds ago and in the procedure of selling it, it loses 3 to 5 dollars. Then I realized how volatile they are and I was afraid of this.

I don't know how you people are able to trade in these tokens, please don't mind if any of my words are making you feel offended because I don't meant to say you are doing wrong, I am just shocked that how people do trading in meme, and doing spot is a thing doing future and margin is next level in memes.

You have a very valid point. One fact is that memecoins are very volatile. I only made a profitable trade on the one I mentioned here. I've also bought some, and I got rug pulled. I bought the MOG I mentioned because Bitget listed it very cheaply. So, I felt like I might not lose much since it's trading on the CEX. I most often don't make a profit on memecoins I buy on DEXs or that are not listed on CEXs. I was just fortunate that MOG got listed on a CEX at a very low market cap.

Cryptocurrency Trading / Re: Bitcoin Hit $70k For First Time.

That was a good day. I was lucky to have paired some Bitcoin with USDT using Bitget's smart portfolio. It took some profit for me and I had to unpair around $71,000. Also, I was able to buy some at a lower price of $65,000 because I wasn't expecting it to go lower than that. But it is what it is.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Anonymity - good or bad?

Honestly, it all comes down to knowledge. Although, no matter how one tries to remain anonymous, their information will still be known by some individuals who will keep it private. These days, maintaining anonymity is challenging because we have to provide data for many things, especially crypto-related activities. I recall when KYC verification wasn't required on Bitget for trading. Now they have to comply with several regulations that mandate KYC as essential. The same applies to other exchanges like Coinbase, Crypto.com, and Binance, which have had to update their KYC processes for certain regions.

Honestly, crypto loans can be beneficial during a bear market. If the collateral value drops and the APR isn't high, you may end up paying a lesser amount back over time. However, if you are lending, you might not earn enough profit unless you are lending out a stablecoin. There are DAOs that support this, like AAVE on Ethereum, listed on Binance, Solend on Solana, listed on Gate.io, and Lista DAO, whose token will be available on Binance's launchpad and Bitget's pre-market.
All these DAOs have their own governance tokens, which one can purchase to be able to vote on the next development for the DAOs or decentralized protocols

Apart from China. What do you think about EFT approval in China? I've been wondering if this happens which there have been rumours about it. Im sure the first ETF approval will be Bitcoin and I'm hoping to see that because I'm long and getting more of it with Bitget smart portfolio. Hopefully, it will work out as I've planned.
Also, I think the China ban Is getting weak already and might be lifted anytime soon.

Ethereum Forum / Re: When do you expect Ethereum to explode?
« on: May 18, 2024, 02:40:15 AM »
Ethereum will Explode and that will be the start of altcoins season.. Normally, I'm not a type who hold much Ethereum just to prevent my self from wasting it on memecoins. But I mostly use it for fees and get more with Bitget's smart portfolio which I'm also still gonna be using for fees if needed cos I hardly sell ETH.
Everyone has goals and considerations in storing coins, some save ethereum for long-term holding. There are also those who use it for transactions. I'm just waiting for the Ethereum ETF to be approved soon so that the Ethereum price will immediately explode and reach $7K, because I'm still holding Ethereum at the moment.
Don't you think even without the ethereum ETF being approved the next bull run could likely shoot the ethereum price to the position of 6k to 7k since it already created  new ATH this year I believe there's every possibilities to reach another ATH.
I have known Ethereum to be the strongest coin after bitcoin and is already established, meaning there are lot people who sink down their investment into ethereum and could hardly fails people.
This made me remember when Ethereum was $63, but I didn't buy any. Although, I had some that I bought at around $150. I'm sure that Ethereum doesn't need ETF approval to get to $7,000 because it has been the strongest coin after Bitcoin, and apart from that, there are high expectations that the ETF will be approved.

Now, it has dropped futher, I think this is because most memecoins are now getting launched on sol network and reasonable projects are getting launched on Ethereum network. Hopefully, low gas price will be due to an upgrade on the network instead of usage. But it's okay now as I spend less on gas fee. The ETH I bought on Bitget are still left in my wallet for months now due to mess fee.

Ethereum Forum / Re: Reason why you hold Ethereum
« on: May 17, 2024, 02:32:59 AM »
I Mostly use Ethereum for transactions and that's why I hold. However, I sometimes send some to exchange to get more from other coins with Bitget smart portfolio. That when I see that those altcoins have pumping potential and I will need more ETH. Instead of buying more ETH, I pair with altcoins.. Although, It doesn't work out as expected everytime but most time.

I invest, I trade and I gamble. Lol. Most time, I invest on strong altcoins and Trade top coins..
I gamble with low cap shitcoins and I mostly lose money doing all these.. Although, I made profits in few especially when I used Bitget smart portfolio. But so far, I'm at loss.

Cryptocurrency Trading / Re: Opt for the safest exchange?
« on: May 17, 2024, 02:20:32 AM »
I've been using Bitget for approximately two years now and there is no Error so far also. Ive also seen that it's one of the safest fastest growing exchange. So I had to stick to it.

Fortunately, Bitget exchange continues to support P2P trading for my country, which is why I have remained with them as my go-to platform.
How did Bitget manage to offer you their service if other services/platforms are blocked? How did your government do the blocking process? Is it simply blocking the website, or do they stop offering services to your country due to government pressure? If it is the latter, I guess we can only wait until Bitget becomes the next target. Quite surprising to hear that bigger services are not available but you can access Bitget P2P service just fine. What about Bisq? Or maybe I'm out of the loop and Bitget is the hype for P2P nowadays?

I think sometimes, when government threatened an exchange with some laws or something. They always get to abide by the government rules.. Maybe Bitget was able to follow some rules so as to be able to continue thier operation for P2P. I don't really know. But they might be the next as you have said. But who knows?
I check the news daily and it doesn't seems like something like that will happen.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: are you joining GME?
« on: May 16, 2024, 03:06:26 AM »
sad to see i'm not on bitget actually. i would love to ride, i think this trend they started will go a long way probably til next year. i'm hoping the trend will also drag the rest of the tokens up.
You can still sign up and buy GME if you feel like it. It dipped now and let me say 60% of my limit orders got filled. You know when a coin/stock goes up, people will take profits and some will panic sell at a loss. I'm hoping for the rest of my orders to get filled, if not, I'm okay with what I have.

Cryptocurrency Trading / Re: Just HODL

Nice idea but accumulation shouldn't has happened on the exchange, do it on your own wallet, the one you can control and have power over. An exchange like Bitget is not even popular, if they disappeared today, you will have no where to run over to but keeping your coin on your personal wallet or in a hardware wallet will help you secure your Bitcoin.

You can use Electrum if you decide to keep only Bitcoin, this software wallet is the best and you can create one offline so your private keys don't get vulnerable to scammers.

Yeah, the best is to use hardware wallets. Although, I use non-custodial wallets for now. And will try check Electrum.
Also Bitget is a porpular exchange with 1.3 million followers on Twitter, there proof of reserve is massive and according to the data from SimilarWeb in April, the web traffic to most of the cryptocurrency exchanges has decreased compared to March except Whitebit and Bitget, with Bitget leading at 11%.

So, I feel safe a bit but not keeping on my assets on an exchange as you've said.
