General Discussion / Re: drugs or alcohol?
« on: January 18, 2024, 05:58:26 PM »
i prefer alcohol :o

Drugs and alcohol have negative effects on our health. I used to drink alcohol, but I had never tried drugs. I also stopped drinking alcohol, but I had a lot of difficulties before I should have stopped because quitting alcohol is not something that is simple to do. My friend, who suffers from alcohol addiction, is the reason I stopped drinking.

Gambling discussion / Re: Do not gamble in front of children
« on: January 18, 2024, 11:46:49 AM »
Gambling is a serious addiction especially those who get involved in this serious addiction cannot easily get rid of the addiction. There are many gamblers in our society who become addicted to gambling in front of small children, in this case the children are mentally attracted to those forbidden games. At some point, children imitate all these addictions in themselves in such a way that later they themselves become professional gamblers. Many school going boys in my area have become big gamblers especially those boys whose fathers have a history of gambling too. So for the time being Guardians should not be addicted to gambling in front of small children.

Gambling may occasionally ruin life, and kids learn up lessons from what they witness. To be more specific, anything that can lead to addiction is not something that parents should do in front of their kids. Examples of such things are drinking, smoking, gambling, and explicit content.

Early gambling exposure can have a number of detrimental consequences on children, including a lack of understanding of the risks of gambling addiction and difficulties controlling emotions and taking preventative measures to avoid addiction.

Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling acceptable in your country?
« on: January 18, 2024, 10:44:38 AM »
I have done a lot of research to find that many countries do not accept gambling which means you cannot gamble directly even if you want to. But online gambling is now running in all countries and they can easily gamble online while maintaining privacy. But in most of the Muslim countries playing it is totally prohibited so people of those countries cannot directly play offline gambling. However please comment on its acceptability in your country.

gambling is allowed in Nigeria except for dice games, non-skilled card games, and roulettes.
I live in a country where there are very few job opportunities, so if our government attempts to outlaw gambling for its citizens, it will only be because he wants to make their lives difficult despite the risk involved.
However, there are Muslim communities that forbid gambling because they feel it violates their religious beliefs

You also need to make your own research when it's comes to investing. Don't just do it because multitudes of people already doing it.
Try and make your research and Know the reasons why the particular projects being hyped. Because alot of people have fall as victims in scam projects due to lack of making their own personal researches.
When it comes to investment and people hear the big profits wey dey involve, dem dey forget sey e get risk too, dey go just rush go put money without making proper research on how the tin dey work.
People go only tell you about investment but the amount and how you go invest am dat wan na your hand e dey, and na why e good to make research.

Back days in school na our teachers go teach us for class and na dem go still tell us to go and make research so dat we go learn better that is to sey for u to achieve your goals in life u need to make research.

Omo since that day I'm now the researching type now.
Because is indeed true that experience is the best teacher.  But you not learning from it yah to be blamed.

I really dey happy for you as you learn from your mistakes.
E good wey person go dey always make research not only in investment but in anything you come to do in life and you go see the different and quality wey you go produce

Basic questions about this forum / Re: Finding your way around the forum.
« on: January 13, 2024, 03:21:58 PM »
I’m still new to the forum and still finding it hard to navigate my way around the forum, I believe there are good people here who is not tired of showing newbies like me around the forum, and also tell us what is and not is required of the forum. I am confuse If there are any limitations in posting here in forum, this I mean are newbies allow to post in any section of the forum. Because as a newbie some of us are still walking on egg shell and trying to be defaulter in what we assume is normal. If there are any please let us know here. Thanks !!

I am also new to this forum but let me contribute with the little knowledge I have.
As you're new as well, let me start by advising you to read and understand the forum rules so you can know what offences you may face. @tribalchief has already given you the link to these rules.
There are no limitations on what you can post, but you should always stay away from plagiarism and spam, do your research, and ask questions there are nice people in this forum and try to be active.
You can post in any section as a newbie, but avoid off-topics (post that does not belong to a particular board)

You should also note that it is important to also do your own research on the basic crypto terminologies you are interested in. There are available pdfs for Bitcoin, Blockchain (DLT), mining, halving, p2p, etc. Some of these pdfs are sometimes short with a minimum of 12-15 pages. They are usually written with enough pictorial representation that would increase your interest in reading through.

I have just gained knowledge from your response, and I will obtain the materials and conduct additional research. This is one of the reasons we need to read the reply section because there were a lot of different viewpoints shared. I appreciate you.

I was a lazy type in reading when I first joined this forum, whenever I saw a post, I would just read the post itself without reading the comments. I don't always take the comments seriously because I always assume that I will understand everything about cryptocurrencies from the post itself. But I've realised that reading through the comments here is the best way to learn because they represent a variety of viewpoints, and I learned that being serious in this forum won't only benefit you inside it, but it will also benefit you outside of it.
