Forum related / Re: Did anyone else know about this feature?
« on: January 23, 2024, 07:19:27 AM »
I discovered an amazing feature on the forum where you can pick images of top celebrities in different categories as your avatar. I was trying to change my avatar, but the upload didn't work. I thought "Choose Avatar from Gallery" meant the same as "Upload Avatar from Gallery," but it turns out you can select from a list of available celebrities in the gallery. I really like this feature. As you can see there on my avatar, I used that of Satoshi nakomato  8). There's Hal finney and so many others. So,did anyone else not know about it?

Available category to choose from.

I thought Satoshi Nakomato was supposed to be anonymous and no one really knows for sure how he looks like then how are you sure to use his picture?

I recently stumbled across that feature too and was curious if it was the same as uploading avatar from gallery but since i am aware and used to uploading from gallery i just didn’t click to find out.

Yeah, in the short term, it is very difficult for SOL to surpass ETH in terms of capitalization, but I still expect fierce competition between them in 2025. That will create excitement in the market and we will see a hot altseason. I believe that something huge is being planned behind Solana, institutional money pouring into SOL is already greater than pouring into ETH in 2023!

Solana has good team behind their project, I agree with you I don't think solana will surpass Ethereum in short term.
But It might be happen at the coming future.
Because we all see Solana has shown good performance.
I have buy more solana again and will hold until next year.
Solana ever touched $ 260 ATH, I think It will hit again next year.
Solana have been one of the projects that have surprised people recently and have shown a great potential to surpass lots of coins but I doubt if it can surpass Ethereum in a short time too, maybe in the future it can but not anytime soon. Both projects have a very good team behind them and Ethereum have even been predicted to surpass btc in the past because of it’s potential. Let’s just enjoy the positivity of Solana and witness it surpass it’s ATH and set a new ATH.

I am accumulating more Solana than the usual getting ready for it to bloom again.

  • What role do you play in the crypto market?
  • How do you utilize your income or profits from the crypto market?
  • Are you content with your current income or profits?
What role do you play in the crypto market? I wouldn’t say I play much role in the crypto market, i am merely an investor who invests in bitcoin and altcoins so i am don’t play any serious role. I think programmers and developers are those that play a bigger role here. Aside being an investor the only role i play is try to impact knowledge on others on this forum and Bitcointalk. I have learned a lot since joining the crypto space last year and i am happy to be sharing my knowledge and expertise with others who are willing to learn.

How do I utilize my crypto profits and income?
As we all know crypto is a risky investment with ups and downs and as a long term investor i wouldn’t say i have gained much profit but i can boldly say since joining the crypto community i am able to cater for my needs and live on my own ever since. I have been able to purchase things I can’t afford before but mostly I channel my some of my crypto earnings into physical investments and set aside some percentage from signature earnings into crypto investment.

Of course i am contented with my current earnings and investments but still working to grow bigger.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Top 3 Bitcoin security and safety tips
« on: January 20, 2024, 04:00:33 PM »
1. Separate your bitcoins to hot and cold wallets

Online wallets are called “hot wallets”, since they are at high risk to network based attacks. If you are running any kind of Bitcoin online business, offline (‘cold’) wallets will be a better tool. They are way safer and they are not so attractive for hackers. It would be ideal to keep the bulk of your Bitcoin funds on the cold wallet. And for your day to day Bitcoin transactions keep just a small float of your Bitcoins on your online wallet.
The safest wallets are offline wallets and for day to day transactions you need an online wallet surely for fast and easy transactions but i would still recommend a non custodial hot wallet where the keys of your wallet is in your possession. Using a custodial wallet is risky as the private keys are not in your possession and one can easily get scammed or exchange can get hacked.

2. Store private keys offline
This is a very essential part every bitcoin investor should take note of, storing of private keys online will expose the keys and your assets to hack attacks that will lead to asset theft. It is very common nowadays so to safeguard our assets we should store our keys offline away from internet connection as anything connected to the internet can be compromised.

Storing offline doesn’t mean we should keep them in a place we can easily forget but rather in a place we can easily access them and also it would be wise to make duplicates and storing each in a seperate location in case any unexpected situation.

3. Use fragmented backups
Never thought of this but this sounds like a smart idea making it very difficult for anyone to use even though they come across any fragment. But it would be wise to make duplicates of each fragments in case of unexpected situations.

I am quite shocked to see this question after that long because we already had discussed this issue on BTT so many times but hey here we go again, when all this started for the first time I created a topic on BTT, and due to Ordinals, the fee touches the all-time high of $32 per TX. I prefer you to read that thread of mine if you don't mind.
In this thread, I mention the reason which caused the creation of these new shit tokens, and that was not due to the taproot upgrade, instead, it was due to a bug in ordinals To know more about Ordinals I prefer you should read this:
According to the latest update of V27, developers has stated that, in near future we won't see any new inscription of token as this update will unable this feature of creating BRC-20 Tokens. (source)
I also missed your thread in Btt and due to one or two reasons and like OP mentioned there are more spam threads there than the usual that makes people miss some important threads but visiting this forum have educated me more about the cause of high transaction fees and Ordinals by reading your post that directed me to the other forum to read your post.

You mentioned that the creation of the BRC20 token was due to a bug in the ordinals, does that mean that we should worry about bitcoin is such can happen and challenge its existence?

I hope they are working towards a possible solution to eliminate the bug in the Ordinal and also eliminate all the tokens created on the bitcoin network because if nothing is done sooner some other developers might create more tokens in the network which will lead to more congestion in the mempool.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Don't buy bitcoin only because of FOMO
« on: January 07, 2024, 02:51:58 PM »
Bitcoin give more profit for investor that started accumulating very early when the price was low. Some Bitcoin investors prefer to wait until when the bull market is coming close that's when they will begin to rush and invest so that they will not miss the profit when the price begin to pump.
People have that mentality of waiting till the bull run is around the corner before investing, they don't know that the price of may increase as the bull run draws near and it will cost more to purchase any coin and reduces the potential profit to make.
Early investment is the best for long term holders, it is more profitable than waiting till the arrival of bull run and also there will be no time to conduct research about projects you want to invest in and investing at these times means you are investing due to the fear of missing out.

It is known to us that many new altcoins are entering all exchanges big and small. What new altcoins do you think will rule this year? Because the number of new projects decreased in the past few years, the only reason is that the number of scam project increased so due to which investors refrained from investing in new projects.
We will see how the year will go, many Alt coins has been launched and many more will still be launched as we are expecting the bull run soon and definitely when then bull run arrives there a new ambitious project will emerge and will be talked about just as we saw with doge coin and the likes but let’s just hope they come to stay for long and grow into one of the hottest projects.

The emergence of new projects will increase the rate of scam projects and that is what all investors should be on the lookout for. Scammers are patiently waiting for this period in order to scam people so we should be very cautious about choosing what project invest in, proper research should be conducted before investing into any project.

Crypto Wallets / Re: Which is the best wallet?
« on: December 29, 2023, 09:50:52 AM »
Can you share me best wallet name for holding crypto as long time. There is many wallet in the crypto market where i have found searching by google. But i couldn’t trust because i want hold very long time for my crypto assets.
People use different types of wallets to work with cryptocurrencies.I think not everyone uses the same wallet that everyone likes.
Electum
Mycelium
Exodus
Green wallet
Blue wallet
Trust wallet
You can feel free to use these wallets to work with cryptocurrencies.
This are good wallet choices but are most of these wallets bitcoin wallet which some of them doesn’t support multi-coin feature bit i think OP is referring to multi coin wallet to hold different coins. Holding a coin for a long period i will advise you go for a hardware wallet instead which @Gladitorcomeback has suggested some of the best options for you.

If you can’t afford hardware wallet then you should rather opt for a non custodial open source wallet like trust wallet or green wallet and for holding bitcoin blue wallet and Electrum wallet are good choices as well.

I hope you understand the security measures for keeping wallet safe, if you don’t you should seek guidance or carryout research about it.
