Bitcoin Forum / Re: BTC Spot ETF is now available on Google Ads
« on: February 04, 2024, 02:29:55 PM »
Do you think that BTC Spot ETF being promoted on Google services is important and has a positive impact on BTC and the crypto market? When do you hope to see its positive results, this year or 2025?

Thanks for sharing this news. And yes I do agree that Google ads allowing the advertising of BTC Spot ETF have a positive impact, because Google is used by half of the population of this world, and all of them will come to know about BTC. The adoption rate will increase and it's a positive side, I haven't checked the numbers yet, but I assume the volume must have increased. Other than this, those who have there accounts on big investing exchanges like BlackRock, Grayscal,e etc. they must already know about BTC spot etf.

So they are not going to be urged by any ads they will see but those who are not on investing in these platforms they will think for a second to make some investment or consider BTC as one of the investment assets.
True but also seeing this Ad on Google will drive them to invest more on bitcoin while this will ironically give reasons for others to trust bitcoin more since alot of individuals literally trust Google and can`t imagine a life without them.

I think it has a positive impact on bitcoin and crypto currency at the moment but in the long run I doubt because we don't know what scammers are planning and may advertise on Google just to scam others and while we don't know how well bitcoin ETF will fair in the long run since we saw what happened to NFTs after some years, the hype we had for it, has been dropped off by the numbers of scam and other factors that has affected most of them.

Still yet this news will make the bull market begin this year after the coming halving.

I suppose that some regulation could bring good, if, for example, services with non-custodial wallets would have to make certain deposits as protection for their clients. How long will clients be victims of hacking exchanges or theft by the owners/employees of such services?
This is the main reason I would support any regulation of Bitcoin and crypto currency, customers have suffered so much from them, I guess with this they will be more cautious in securing customers funds and also it will be much better if the regulation is so strict that as they increase so will their reserve funds be constantly be known to at least SEC. While other regulations to them would be about being fined for any data breach customers are exposed to through them.

Gambling discussion / Re: AFCON 2024 Discussion thread
« on: January 30, 2024, 12:54:33 AM »
In second match I am going to underdog Ivory Coast, they are the host and it is expected to have big support from home supporters.
Senegal is no joke and they are in better form, but H2H matches of this two teams are usually tight.
I think that draw in regular time is possible or narrow win for Senegal.
I didn't know the elephants got the best loser spot. They've sacked their coach, they've not beaten Senegal in the last 3 meetings, and they put up poor performance in the group stage. The odds are not in their favour, it will take a miracle for them to scale through.
Ivory Coast came out the better team in the penalty shoot out against Senegal with a 5 goals to after a 1 - 1 draw.
I thought Senegal would be the better team especially how they started the match with an early goal and how excellently in this year Afcon but in the end, the defending champion could not advance more.

Mendy did well but the fact that He is not good at saving penalty really affected them today, all the goals he conceded were from the penalty spot which include the first goal by the Ivory Coast which lead to the penalty shoot out and while he also cause the penalty, I still think he did great today

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Is Bitcoin legal?
« on: January 28, 2024, 06:14:35 PM »
I just told you a little about the situation of Bitcoin where I live and Bitcoin is open to the public but cannot be traded for commodities in the public, such as buying vegetables, candy, snacks, fruit, etc.
What I mean by Bitcoin being open to the public is that it has its own market, namely the Centralized Exchange (CEX), I don't want to explain it further because that's my privacy and I have been working with the Centralized Exchange (CEX) since it was founded.
This regulation is also supported by all financial institutions, ministries of finance, government financial audits, etc., the only difference is that as I said at the beginning, Bitcoin cannot be traded to buy vegetables, fruit, candy, but Bitcoin must first be converted into Fiat.
We have similar situation in my country but I will like get a clarification from you about if the government specifically set the law that you can`t use bitcoin to get vegetables, candy and the likes?
My reason for this question is because in my country Nigeria there is no such restriction by the  government, once both agree to accept bitcoin then you can pay with it but the only barrier i see here is when the fee is too high for such transaction like it is now and they are not using same CEX, which usually require little or no fee transferring coins from one user account to another, while this barrier comes when they both agree to use bitcoin  as means of payment but the fact is those retailers who sell these commodities in Nigeria, do not have knowledge about bitcoin and so would opt for fiat instead

Bitcoin Forum / Re: could adoption make BTC price less volatile?
« on: January 26, 2024, 01:23:47 PM »
OP, the adoption of Bitcoin keeps increasing year after year, and yet it doesn't stop Bitcoin from being volatile. Bitcoin is not a stable coin, and there is no way it can stop being volatile even if adoption increases more than what we already have.

Bitcoin has two seasons, which are the bear market and the bull market. During each season, there are usually some factors that contribute to volatility: either the price is going up very fast or it is falling so sharply. There are different factors that contribute to price volatility, and in order to make Bitcoin less volatile, you have to remove those factors.
The fact is that for bitcoin to be stable, that's the job of the devs to do but as it stands now, bitcoin can never be stable but may become less volatile as circulation increases but this depends if majority view it as a store of value and even so what circulation is actually reducing is the chance of market Manipulations

Truly doing your own research is best in everything but one of the major issue, is were you are getting information about such research, since information sources may just be false especially in social media.
Here are some proper ways OF doing your own research :
  • Avoid and be cautious of taking financial advice from social media like tik tok, youtube, Facebook, twitter(X) and others.
  • Get and compare, information from various sources and then focus more on the part they all have in common
  • Forum like Btt and Att are really helpful in this

The reason why I brought this topic up is that most people buy and store their Btc on centralized exchanges, To I don't think  it that safe even when some benefits are attached to it While wallet is not also safe concerning the way you store your security seed phrase. But when come to hacking to me I think wallet is safer though

What you guys think?
Having assets under our own control will be much more reliable in this case. In terms of security, it actually has its own risks. But saving bitcoins in a personal wallet can make us calmer and less worried. This is different from storing assets on the stock exchange which will only make us afraid when there is negative news regarding the stock exchange we use. In fact, the FTX case is enough of a lesson for us so that we all store assets in our personal wallets.

Yes, that is a classic example on why we shouldn't hold funds or bitcoin in exchange because once it collapse or do a exit scam, it will be over for us. The thing though is that when we hold our own coins, we should also be wary on how to protect it. So it's important to learn and practice security first like buying hardware wallet to store our bitcoins.

Just remember though, be our own back, and not your keys not your coins. We can't stressed this enough for bitcoin enthusiast. We don't want to be the next victim or hacks and exit scams.
There have always been alot of reasons not to save your bitcoin or any coin on CEX but I guess 2022 made it crystal clear for everyone aside FTX alot of other exchanges crashes while most of them was because their funds were still with FTX.
You can keep little amount of bitcoin or coins you use daily on but never make that mistake of thinking CEX is a safe place to store your coins. While the best means of storing your bitcoin or any other coin is using hardware wallet, it should be noted that using trusted hardware wallet doesn't make your coins 100% safe and secure, you make them 100% safe and secure by the ways you protect and secure the wallets.
Never forget this phrase not your key not your coins

Suggestion Box / Re: Karma 0 = your rank will go up
« on: January 12, 2024, 10:11:41 PM »
~ a user told me that when he gets a high rank he will stop posting shit (already warned).
It's one thing to make many posts in a day to try to rank up quickly. It's a different matter when you post complete shit to pad up activity.
Truly but I guess as the forum continues to grow there will also be at least few good members that would support in the community service of bursting spammers and this is simply to reduce because in a nutshell the merit system in btt didn't really stop spammers though tit reduce it but there are still more spammers and is the job for volunteering members of the Forum to get them.

I don't actually think it was his claim about bitcoin can not be killed that made bitcoin moves to almost $48000 but the false news about Bitcoin ETF being approved and I guess his claim was just a little catalyst since after the actual news about bitcoin ETF the price of bitcoin dropped to around $46k and now sits around $43k.
To me the bitcoin price movement is still unpredictable to me, either going bear or bull

They've really tried everything with the Ordinals...
Nintendo games on bitcoin... this is pure waste of time and space  :P
Now I understand better why so many people refused for so long to make any bigger changes to bitcoin code.
Developers had good intentions with taproot but it made a mess and it created fee chaos.
Now is now becoming more of an attack to the Bitcoin Network, wonder why don't just create their own Blockchain for their own garbage and stop all these drama
