Bitcoin Forum / Do you think Bitcoin can ruin a Country?
« on: June 24, 2018, 10:47:17 AM »
Well, i just thought, if bitcoin become a currency of one Country, maybe it can destroy that country? Think of it, Bitcoins do not have a tax, and tax are used by the government to make that country a good one, without tax, what will be used to spend and make that country a good one?

What do you think?

Bitcoin Forum / Should school offer bitcoin & blockchain education?
« on: June 24, 2018, 10:39:16 AM »
The University of California is now offering a class on cryptocurrency. Arizona State University has launched a blockchain research lab in collaboration with the Dash cryptocurrency. Stanford University began offering a Bitcoin class two years ago, and Fordham University started teaching students about cryptocurrency a year before that. Cambridge University is now including blockchain education as a core part of their Masters in Finance degree
The reality is that an increasing number of universities are starting up Bitcoin education classes, and this push is starting to filter down to high schools. Students, on a percentage basis, are much more well-versed in the cryptocurrency sphere than older generations (such as their teachers), so it makes perfect sense that there’s an increasing demand for such education to be implemented on campuses.
At what age do you think students should start learning about cryptocurrencies?

Bitcoin Forum / Things you can buy with bitcoin.
« on: June 23, 2018, 06:28:18 PM »
Recently in UAE, Arabian Escapes is a real estate company where you can buy properties with BTC,
and also, Recently, KFC Canada has accepted Bitcoin payments for a short period of time. However, Bitcoin can only be used to place orders online, and only to purchase a new item called "Bitcoin Bucket" and all this special deal will be handled by Bitpay, a fairly common Bitcoin trading tool. Its really interesting news, I wish that I can also buy chicken by paying bitcoin in my country.
also, the Burger King in Arnhem, Netherlands, went started accepting bitcoins in 2016, it went all-in, and offered one free Whopper for every Whopper purchased with the digital currency.
also, Rolex watches can be purchased online with BTC.
also, Fifteen minutes after the online mattress retailer GhostBed began accepting bitcoins, its CEO says it processed its first bitcoin sale. A good night's sleep is, of course, priceless
and many more things.

BTC may have a lot of flaws but it is the most popular and greater community, It sure is mother of all, IF something happens to it others will all be affected because of this and may have larger or smaller impact depending on their place.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Best way to store Bitcoin
« on: June 23, 2018, 03:13:02 PM »
The easier way to store your bitcoin and other cryptocurrency is in a digital wallet online, or locally on your smartphone or computer. But leaving your bitcoin in public view can open you up to attacks from hackers and phishing scams. That’s why the best option is a hardware wallet that stores your bitcoin offline.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Bitcoin digital asset
« on: June 23, 2018, 03:09:12 PM »
I think it is an asset for now but it can be a property when maybe finally many countries accept it as a currency.
I agree that it is an asset for now, but let me assure you that it can be a property too, maybe I'm not getting your point but what I think you said is that properties can be purchased by these?
While reading articles about BTC I got to know that Arabian Escapes is offering properties for BTC. Check for yourself at ae-btc.com
and another articles stated about SOV being legal currency in Marshal Islands.  8)

XRP - Ripple Forum / Re: What is the current status of ripple?
« on: June 23, 2018, 03:02:31 PM »
Ripple is doing great from past few years and through advancements it made in April will take it to a whole new level.
I'd like to mention them as no one did in previous comments.
The XRP holders have been eagerly waiting for the beginning of several very important projects that are currently in Ripple’s pipeline for a few months. Some of these projects include acceptance of XRP as a valid currency for cross-border payments by Western Union and MoneyGram, launching of mobile XRP by Santander Bank, and many more. Once these projects come to fruition, trading would become even more lucrative and convenient for XRP users.
One of the reasons that the aforementioned projects are still in the pipeline is two major recent developments. Here, those two updates and their positive impact on Ripple’s future would be discussed.
The Implementation of the Cobalt Algorithm:
The Cobalt algorithm was first introduced by Ethan MacBrough, a Ripple employee as well as a renowned crypto-architect. The sole purpose of designing this algorithm is to increase the transaction speed to a great extent. On 27th March 2018, the implementation of this ingenious algorithm was officially announced by Ripple’s #DevelopmentTeam . Once this project is complete, the XRP holders would be able to take advantage of the following nonpareil features:
a. Lightning Fast Cross-border Transaction: The Cobalt algorithm would mitigate the time for a cross-border transaction to nearly 1 second. Previously, Ripple’s cross-border transactions used to take three to four seconds. Therefore, this new implementation would increase Ripple’s speed by nearly 75% which means the number of overall transactions would also increase accordingly. With such a gargantuan boost in a daily transaction, Ripple’s popularity to the traders is very likely to escalate further.
b. Increasing Stability: According to Ethan MacBrough’s paper, the Cobalt algorithm would work in networks with no global agreement on the participants of a particular transaction as well as with non-uniform trust. This algorithm would also ensure forward progress even in case of arbitrary asynchrony. This will indubitably increase Ripple’s reliability as a decentralized transaction protocol and would make it even more stable.
c. Eliminating Transaction Stoppage: The implementation of Cobalt would eliminate the occurrence of any stoppage in a transaction. So, the transaction procedure would never stop even if there is a delay in transmission. In case of transmission delays due to lack of consensus voting, the process will simply slow down a bit rather than stopping completely. This implementation of Cobalt would also strengthen the financial security of Ripple for hackers and malware.
The Partnership with Hyperledger:
loading...
Ripple began its partnership with the Hyperledger Consortium on 28th March 2018. Hyperledger is a blockchain consortium supported by Linux Foundation that helps in developing new distributive ledgers. Hyperledger has been contributing to the cryptocurrency market since 2015. By partnering with this consortium, Ripple has opened several new possibilities. Because of this partnership, the cryptocurrency developers all around the world would be able to access the Interledger Protocol or ILP. ILP was previously operable on the traditional JavaScript Algorithm which was retooled and modified by Ripple last year.
This partnership would not only boost Ripple’s price considerably but also accelerate the developmental process of blockchain application.
Ripple’s Current State and Speculation:
Because of the two updates mentioned above Ripple has exhibited a steady upward trend in its price for the past few days. As of this moment, 1 Ripple is equivalent to approximately $0.5 and its overall market capitalization is circa $19.6 Billion (According to the data of 5th April 2018).
With these two major events along with many other projects yet to begin, Ripple’s future seems veritably bright. Despite the fact that the entire crypto-market acts like a giant bubble sometimes, Ripple is likely to satisfy its users in future as well. The Cobalt algorithm implementation and Hyperledger partnership would only turn this reliable cryptocurrency even more reliable.

Correct me if I made any mistake.

XRP - Ripple Forum / Re: Should I invest to Ripple?
« on: June 23, 2018, 02:55:19 PM »
Is Ripple a good investment? No one can be sure. The cryptocurrency’s value has risen a lot since it was introduced. If you bought $1,000 worth of Ripples at the beginning of the year when you could get one for around $0.0065, you would have almost $40,000 today.

But it’s hard to predict whether the price will rise or fall. If Ripple can get more banks on board and transform the financial sector with its payment network, you can expect the price to skyrocket. If that doesn’t happen and investors don’t pour their money into Ripples, the price can experience a massive drop.

XRP - Ripple Forum / Re: what is riplle?
« on: June 23, 2018, 02:39:21 PM »
Ripple is both a payment network (RippleNet) and a cryptocurrency (Ripple XRP) created in 2012. RippleNet connects banks and other big institutions and allows them to transfer money and other assets through the network. All transactions are recorded on the decentralized XRP Ledger.

BTC will have impact on all other currencies if it crashes tomorrow, it may be less on some or it may be greater on others but every other currency will be affected if BTC crashes.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Bitcoin, an asset or currency?
« on: June 23, 2018, 02:28:21 PM »
As per my knowledge it is a currency in this way that many thing can be purchased by this, just like Arabian Escapes, a real estate company is offering one of it services that accept cryptocurrency for buying properties.
But it can also be considered as an asset for some, like some people buys some coin at its lowest and waits for it to shoot up so they sell it and gain profit.
so it can be used as both. In my opinion.
Correct me if I'm wrong. :)

Thankyou so much for sharing this information, I thought of adding a little more to it that UAE's currency is Dirhams but a Real Estate Company named Arabian Escapes recently took an initiative that they are accepting cryptocurrency for properties and they also have more services.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: What's going on? Bitcoin for the rich only?
« on: June 23, 2018, 02:15:06 PM »
The fees are high because so many people are willing to pay a lot to make a bitcoin transaction. It is not a matter of rich or poor. It is a matter of what the transaction is worth to you.
The solutions are to make transactions smaller, enable off-chain transaction layers, and make room for more transactions, or perhaps to make Bitcoin less useful.
Onchain transactions will always be expensive for small transactions. If we want to get everyone on board, again, segwit + lightning network is the way to go. But, The problem with the Lightning Network solution is that it is another payment system that people will have to adopt. It has taken Bitcoin 8 years to get this far, so we should expect adoption of LN to take just as long. A bigger block solution is necessary in the meantime.
I hope its helpful. :)
