Ethereum Forum / Re: Between ETH and BTC which one is more preferable?
« on: February 12, 2024, 02:13:50 PM »

Hmm, What OP's intentions were I don't know but I think he was talking about a better opportunity I'm not talking about the reliability here obviously more risk more reward, On that point Bitcoin is too saturated and ETH still has the potential to outperformance in the Bitcoin in terms of gains. When it comes to reliability ETH has no match with BTC but other Altcoins have no match with the ETH so we can say that ETH is also a safe and preferable entry even at the current price.

let's say that ETH has its own use case, essentially and invented smart contracts and dapps
an innovation never thought of before and then taken as an example by everyone
so I don't consider it useless as a currency, it's just that the implementation sucks, it's no coincidence that we have congestion problems

OP solve half of problem

Even reputable members can make a bad post now and then. We aren't perfect, we have just built a reputation and gained the respect of most in the communities we are a part of.

That's the point, no one is perfect
as happens outside, for example, with restaurant reviews on Tripadvisor
no one is perfect, using the punitive method to fix bad behavior doesn't work, just talk
if he is a repeat offender it's another matter, I'm the type of person who talks about face 2 face person with whom I feel annoyed or uncomfortable in order to understand how to resolve the matter together

What's the point of giving away negative karma? for nothing only to foment hatred

Monero Forum / Re: which monero wallet do you use?
« on: February 12, 2024, 11:45:54 AM »
Yes I know it's old and no longer updated
in fact I use monerujo which I think is better even if it only has one currency inside
I don't like many other multicurrency wallets and I don't have this need since I don't have many currencies, so I don't need much

confirming javascript takes just 2 minutes, it's a check you do client side precisely in cases where the user inadvertently presses a link, this system is widely used by those, like me, between frontends with javascript
of course is easy to put in site and dont need any security check

thanks

among other wallets, in this case multiwallets, which allow you to manage monero we could also mention coinomi https://www.coinomi.com/en/downloads/ lately also for desktop and not just for mobile clients
in the past I used it as a temporary swap, now I prefer something else

After reading the topic and the responses complete, I have a question and a suggestion:
My question: What happens if someone pressed a negative Karma button by mistake? Can this process be removed if it occurred by mistake?

My suggestion: Why do we not make giving negative karma a little more difficult, for example when press the negative karma button, a dialog is asked to write a convincing reason to give a negative Karma with a warning of misuse of the system, if he is serious and write the reason and the press send or OK  then it will be given a negative Karma with sending a message to the member tells him the reason for obtaining a negative Karma.

We can get several benefits of that: some annoyers stop playing and pressing a negative Karma button without responsibility. Also, the intended member gets a message showing the reason for obtaining a negative Karma and also will help the Mods of their work when submitting a complaint regarding negative karma.

This is just a suggestion and it is possible to have defects and I do not know if its application is possible in terms of technical aspect. But at least it can reduce giving negative Karma without a convincing reason.

this is a good idea, a good proposal
from a code point of view you just need to add a "confim" on the javascript side, so it's not even too complicated
furthermore, anyone who presses by mistake can still go back
good idea

I use Exodus (multicurrency  closed source).

I used moneruju,  an open source wallet,  but it is monero only. Single currency wallets are not good in my phone, cause I need flexibility in my phone

if you like close source you could try coinomi
It's a good multi-currency wallet and I've often used it as a sort of proxy for my recovery work, as it has all the currencies and allows me to be flexible

in fact, you should know that I also deal with recovering wallets with various problems even if the best remains Dave

You are right, the plus thing I have seen is the old members of this forum warmly welcomed the teleported members, and you will be amazed to hear that one of the members was talking about hiding the teleport badge and old members of this forum replied why you want to hide your token of respect. I mean I was stunned to hear that they (old members) think of us like that.

They made me realize the importance of this badge, as you are also teleported so I thought I should mention this factor as well. The old community is very loving. Now this forum have no problem at all but need some increasing number of traffic and boom with new projects, the pay rate for old projects will also increase. Well, at least that's what I am hoping.

Surely what we teleporters can bring is a greater experience in a more popular forum, it makes no sense to wage war with each other given that we all come with the intention of improving the forum and providing services, such as the mention bot on telegram like the my greasemonkey scripts and other innovations that help you enjoy the forum and the community better

together we can do many good things

Terra LUNA Forum / Re: Luna can make a good come back.
« on: February 10, 2024, 10:26:50 PM »
I also stay away from it, I barely got out of it and it left me with deep scars, not so much because of my loss (I would have lost $1000 then) but because of the fact that some of my friends who went hard lost really important quantity.

I have seen market bleed like Luna and FTX collapse. SBF mistake was obvious and people were notified quickly of the disasters they were about see except for investors and traders that couldn't withdraw their money, though when the news broken out, the smart traders were able to withdraw and rest is history but as for Luna, it was terrible experience.

They tried so hard to buy back with Bitcoin and they were doing more damage to the market  because they were dumping Bitcoin to protect UST and it wasn't working and Bitcoin was also dumping and it was when they couldn't protect it again they gave up and despite the listing new Luna, it remains one of the worse coin.

Yes, it was, as the jargon calls it, a perfect storm, an attempt to block with one's hands an entire ocean of shit that was coming against them like a tsunami.
Obviously they couldn't, obviously many of the stakes and other systems were blocked and they lost everything. I had smelt it and had unlocked and put my 1000 UST in a mobile wallet ready to run away and I gave myself a rule, if it depreciates by 10% I'll sell and so I did, after UST it went back up for a moment to a peg 1: 1 and then it collapsed

Now I'll tell you something: I have often witnessed diatribes on evaluation in other places too.
Let's say that if we make time go on forever then the ratings will be more or less truthful, I don't worry and you shouldn't worry about karma or likes or any rating system, write, be kind and tolerant and let's all get along In the end we are here to talk and exchange opinions, everyone has their own and no one should try to convince anyone else.

Transaction fees using Bitcoin and Ethereum so far have quite a lot of differences. Bitcoin can still carry out transactions using fairly cheap fees, maybe only around 30 sat/byte, whereas the Ethereum network has very expensive transaction fees. Some time ago, the founder of Ethereum planned to build Ethereum 2.0 to overcome the problem of high transaction fees, but it seems that until now there have been no satisfactory results.

Yeah , Ethereum 2.0 didn't solve their gas fee problem. It's still expensive. If we compare gas fee between Ethereum to bitcoin, bitcoin is cheaper.
But I think both are the biggest community in crypto.
I hold both and believe will give us the big profit next year during bullish.

True, because of this, second level chains such as Optimism and Arbitrium were born, they are very beautiful and very efficient compared to Eth. It is no coincidence that these and all the other second level chains (including Bitcoin) will be a success in my opinion.

I don't think we can talk about diversification anymore, the whole world, both crypto and markets are strongly correlated
if bitcoin goes up, everyone goes up more or less
if bitcoin goes down everyone goes down more or less
there are speculative movements in certain contexts and certain news

I think some people might live in fear due to their real life situations. Corruption might run rampant where they are and always has, so they think it must exist everywhere.

I've seen many mention on the other forum that they post from an alt account out of fear of retribution and now I am basically seeing the same thing said here as far as people might be afraid of groups forming. Noone should be afraid to have an opinion, this is an online forum, not your everyday life where standing up for yourself might have bad consequences. If someone or a group of people toss a bunch of neg karma your way, take it to the forum court. I am sure the admin and judges will be happy to take a look and make a decision. We cannot live in fear.

Seeing a karma count is a positive thing IMO. Yes it could influence how some might post if they are chasing karma, but it's not the same as the DT trust system on the other forum. People in general just agree with your opinion, it doesn't make you the most trusted person here, or the best on this forum. or whatever. We are all just a part of a community and should want to know what we are doing good, or what we might improve on. Simple as that.

well said, our aim is not to live in fear of one less or one more karma, like the rating system in blackmirror
no let's give opinions let's give a hand, anyone who puts negative karma in retaliation is a child and as too many positive karmas are sanctioned too many negative karmas will certainly be sanctioned
the admin is very intelligent I saw and inclined towards peace

+1 karma for you yahoo

on what way do you think this forum is more vast than bitcointalk forum? If you are talking about sub-boards which is more here, bitcointalk infused them in one board so whatever you have here bitcointalk also have it.

In terms of knowledge I believe Bitcointalk surpasses this forum but if you take a good look at Bitcointalk you’ll notice that new projects are not always welcomed in a friendly manner over there - most new altcoins are being labeled as scam and that’s why you see very little project making Ann there as compared to when the forum was still very friendly to new projects.

But here in altcointalk, new projects are always welcome and they have the freedom to post and showcase what they have to offer without being criticized or called a scam.

well the new projects are not well received of course, but you also have to understand the name.. the forum is called BITCOINtalk, not projects-talk
for this reason many alts and other strange things can come here peacefully and without encountering friction, the theme here is altcoins

ah ok this one

https://featherwallet.org/

ok honestly I've never used it, but it looks very nice for the desktop, I almost install it
I assume that this too, like monerujo, does not download the blockchain but uses servers to know things
clear, it makes sense, it's also very simple at first glance
