Forum related / Re: What is the purpose of automated posts here?
« on: December 30, 2023, 11:54:11 AM »

Yeah, it's annoying and should be removed altogether when the forum quality is better -> mod becomes more active & many regulars here are willing to remind users of rules, plus report bad users.

Even if he does not want to remove it since he thinks it will help users remember the rules of the forum, he should at least make it options for those that find it annoying.

There’s an option to disable signature, he could also create a toggle button so that those that don’t want to see the automated message can switch it off… it would be better this way.

Omo the stuff dey some how I dey think shey nah this same thing nah nor make the festive affect the price of Bitcoin because some pipo go for sell some of their Bitcoin and doing so Bitcoin go for do correction.
The fees and the congested mempool don dey affect pipo make wan transfer there Btc so that them go fit change am to fiat.

He go shock you when you see the way pipo just still Dey transact their bitcoin despite the congested network; he just still get pipo wey nor really send how much the transaction fee cost if them wan convert their coin to fiat dem go still run am.

Nah those of us wey be say we nor too hold many bitcoin for our wallet and we Dey sensitive about the cost of the transaction fee if we convert an to our local currency the price nor deysweet for our ear again.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: What do you think should happen to ordinals?
« on: December 28, 2023, 10:35:15 PM »
This only gives more rooms for more criticism of bitcoin, it has lost its “cheap transaction” its “speed  (Unless you’re willing to pay some unrealistic price for fee)”.

That's where we're heading slowly, but Bitcoin hasn't lost its value. More people keep buying and investing, is another reason for the congestion. It's okay to use a different coin for transactions now. It not only saves money but also cuts down on the high fees you expected to pay. I have a transaction stuck for days, and it's really frustrating. Curse the ordinals

If you’re in dire need of the confirmation of the transaction then use “RBF” but note that it’s going to cost you more money. Sometimes even the RBF fee is quite discouraging imagine having to pay $15 for a $50 transaction just so that they can confirm my transaction. It’s just so frustrating to be honest.

I be don do research on this same thing back when the transactions quata just newly start and most of them wey I see nor Dey offer free service and if you observe the amount wey dem Dey charge to take help you accelerate the transaction you go see say the price big pass money wey you wan send.

One way wey I Dey use nah that @Tryninja transaction bot, although the thing nor good if you Dey in hurry but if nah something wey you nor need immediately you go fit use am; just set the amount of sat/vbyte wey you want and once he reach you go receive notification that way you fit go broadcast your transaction, Naso me take Dey do my own.

But if nah Watin you don already broadcast this one nor go help you at all.

At least, the Administration don still do something wey make sense. Kudos to them. But come to think of it, hope say dem no remove the ban for their own benefits still, bcus money laundering go just turn to normal very soon.

If at all, Nigeria crypto ethusiast no go dey hide for dark again.

For me , Sha I just dey get dis feeling say government remove that ban, make Dem use am take cover up for their inability to provide cash for Nigerians dis period. Becos if u see, na the idea be dat Dem no say youths dey vex and Dem no say if Dem return cryptocurrency youth go see another way to take trade money con relax Dem mind. But if dat wan na truly their agenda then Dem no be better people at all.

The removal of the ban still has no effect on the cash scarcity because if you take a good look at the society you will see several people that don’t even want to accept bank transfer not to talk of them receiving bitcoin or any other altcoin as a means of payment.

I feel there are other motives behind the ban removal but for now all we can do is to spectate and hope that our thoughts are not correct cause if it turns out to be true that’s going to be one heck of a thing to avoid (taxation I mean).

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Is Bitcoin Too Expensive For Me?
« on: December 15, 2023, 01:25:52 PM »

Is it advisable to buy Bitcoin with the little amount I have, or should I rather go for altcoins that my funds can meet up with?.

I’ve never been too involved in altcoins myself and the time I did I was unlucky to have invested in one that turned out to be a scam, and that’s why I turned to bitcoin.

I don’t know if you’re going to receive more money in the future that you can spare to buy bitcoin if yes then I’ll suggest you make a schedule and plan out doing DCA, that’s far more better than just going in all at ones, if you’re not the type that have big money or huge source of income you can be doing DCA and before you realise what’s going on you’d have accumulated enough coin that would get you through the halving period and also be stable in the ecosystem.

Hello everyone :)

Glad to see you on this side, which means you’ll continue to provide your wonderful service in the crypto space.

I thought the ban on btt was gonna be the end for all mixers but hopefully it isn’t.

The truth is that, I haven’t really been lucky enough to win a life changing amount from gambling (as others would call it) but the few I have won either go to my school mortgage or back to my gambling activities.

I’m not a chronic gambler, there are times when I don’t open my account for up to two months or even more and I believe that contribute to my winning rate and also due to the amount I normally stake, as a student it’s usually not advisable to engage in unmonitored gambling since it’s easy for one to become addicted to it so I make sure to always stake as low as I’m allowed to but with a huge odds and most of the time I end up not winning.

I will recommend you go through this thread[1] it contains everything you need to know about Karma

But before  then let me try to explain based on what I’ve learned so far, the karma + button is used to reward a user with karma for a post they made, and if you’ve ever sent a karma to any user you’ll get a badge for it, while the karma - is the opposite of the first one, let’s say you come across a user that’s constantly spamming the forum you can use the “-“ to reduce their karma that way if they want to do anything in the forum including joining a signature campaign they won’t, cause the “negative karma” has already indicated that they are a typical spammer. And like the positive karma, if you’ve ever sent one to a user you’ll also receive a badge for it. Just like you did.

Forum related / How do you keep up with topics?
« on: December 10, 2023, 09:11:33 AM »
I've been a member of Bitcointalk for some time now and was able to keep up with posts and mentions thanks to a telegram bot created by a fellow forum member, but I'm not sure if there is one here.

Currently I’ve not replied to numerous threads so I’m able to keep up with them with the use of “show new replies to your posts<<” but that’s going to change if I’m active and starts responding to different threads.

Now, for members who have been on the forum for a while, how do you normally monitor threads? Or how do you know if someone responded to your thread comment? Do you usually go through all the threads to see if your post was mentioned? I'd appreciate any assistance you can provide.
