Later in the discussion, Buterin posted on Warpcast where he proposed new terminology to help encapsulate the differences between “strong L2” and “light L2” solutions. Examples of strong L2s were rollups, plasma, and channels; whereas validiums and pre-confirmations were light L2s. This new terminology was met with tepid responses.

This is great idea, not all L2 are equal and they should be classified accordingly. Although looking at post on Warpcast, i prefer old term "security-favoring" and "scale-favoring" which describe difference between L2.

So far, there are no good results for the second layer solutions on the Ethereum network. All the solutions that were presented previously did not succeed in eliminating the main problems that the main Ethereum network suffers from.

Same for the Bitcoin network Layer 2 solutions like the Bitcoin Lightning Network have not been successful in eliminating major network issues such as congestion and high fees.

FYI it's partially because people decide not to use those L2 solutions.

Even after the recent upgrade of Ethereum, despite the transition of Ethereum from POW to POS. it did not completely succeed in eliminating the problems of congestion and transaction delays on the mainnet,

I don't understand you mention PoW to PoS transaction. That alone doesn't change block size or block time which means TPS remain same.

Here are my short suggestions,

1. "Basic questions about this forum" could be either removed or moved under "Forum related".
2. I find topic created on "Basic Questions about Cryptos" and "Further Education" very similar. IMO it should be merged where one of them is removed.
3. "Bitcoin Gold" should be removed since it has no activity since 2022 (i exclude 3 necroposting). I also created a new thread asking whether BTG is dying (with some data), but there's no reply so far.

If the goal is to promote Liquid, that's fine. But otherwise i don't think it's very useful since that website shows most blocks is almost empty. It means people could just set 0.1 sat/vB (which is minimum fee rate[1]). Although as reminder Liquid use Confidential Transaction which leads to bigger transaction size[2].

Why is it not necessary to have multiple backups? This reduces the likelihood of losing access to your wallet if the seed-phrase is lost. We don't have natural disasters, but I think you need to make sure you have access to your wallet in the most unforeseen situations.

I disagree with @Sokani suggestion. But i guess he imply it'll increase risk it found by other people or you need to spend time to verify and replace the backup (if the backup no longer in good condition).

I didn't say anything about hardware wallet that was never hacked or had no issue. My point was there are few hardware wallet not worth recommending/mentioning.

If you own old working smartphone you can use it like hardware wallet and you dont have to buy something new.
Just reset your phone, install mobile wallet, remove sim card and turn off internet connection.
Now you have better security for free without spending more money, this is crypto recycle 

It's nice idea, although make sure wallet software you choose have feature for offline/airgapped wallet. At bare minimum. it should able to sign unsigned transaction.

Honestly, I prefer users not be able to delete their posts. Look at the mess Ratimov created when he deleted multiple topics on the other forum trying to remove proof he was an idiot. Might even be good if users couldn't edit to a certain extent.

Have you checked link mentioned by @Jokers? It state you can unlock feature to delete post/thread if you're willing to spend some money. So users like Ratimov (from Bitcointalk) could pay a bit of money and abuse chosen feature. Although from reading that thread and related discussion thread, it's not clear whether moderator/admin would reverse such action manually.

I do not know if there is anyone scraping forum data, and if there is no bot doing so, it is best to assume that everything you post has been recorded by someone.
Deleting the post will not change much, but it would be good if this feature was available to a specific rank, such as Mythical, instead of being a paid feature.

Search engine scrape forum data so it can be shown on relevant search result. In addition, it's known Google keep older version of certain web page through feature called "Google Cache".

That's true, using few service (which require KYC) only reduce the risk. Besides, some people occasionally need fiat due to various reason.

I did kyc for two exchanges before I join a forum (bitcoinatalk) and got to know about the risk associated with kyc – how my identity could be stolen and the rest… if the info had gotten to me before I made that decision of verifying my account I would have just gone for DEX, because I don’t trade large volume so the liquidity in dexs should have been enough for me.

DEX is good alternative to CEX, although some trading pairs have little or no volume. As for trading pair on DEX which use fiat, Bisq[1] shows only EUR, USD and BRL have volume above $100K in last 7 days.
