If the cryptocurrency loses cloud support on weekly timeframes, it could rain down a storm of pain on XRP investors who have already sustained so much frustration in the last few years.

Yesterday, we discussed the chances of a sharp decline in ripple below $0.2300. XRP price failed to recover above the $0.2400 resistance and started a fresh decline below the key $0.2300 support level.

It declined 5% and traded below the $0.2250 support. It even spiked below $0.2200 and settled well below the 100 hourly simple moving average. A new weekly low is formed near the $0.2195 level and the price is now consolidating losses.

After a failed attempt to clear the $0.2500 resistance, ripple started a fresh decline. XRP price broke the $0.2440 and $0.2420 support levels to move into a bearish zone.

The decline gained pace below a major declining channel with support near $0.2415 on the hourly chart of the XRP/USD pair. The pair is down 5% and it is now trading well below the 100 hourly simple moving average.

Square Inc. has announced today that it has purchased 4,709 BTC for approximately $50 million, allocating around 1 percent of its total assets as of Q2 2020 to Bitcoin. The payments company, founded by Twitter’s CEO Jack Dorsey, said that it intends to participate in growing Bitcoin’s adoption.

CashApp’s parent company Square invests $50 million in Bitcoin
Square, a payments company founded by Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, has announced today that it has purchased approximately 4,709 bitcoins. In an announcement published on its official website, the company said that the bitcoins were acquired at an aggregate purchase price of $50 million.

Chamath Palihapitiya has become one of the most prominent investors of the past few years due to his use of special-purpose acquisition companies (SPACs). He made headlines when he brought Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic public through a SPAC.

While a pioneer in venture investing, he’s also big on Bitcoin.

He, alongside a few partners, was rumored to have owned five percent of all BTC in circulation in 2012, meaning they likely held somewhere around 300,000 coins. No comments have been made about what happened to those coins, and it’s unclear if that Bitcoin is a part of his personal holdings or that of his massive venture fund Social Capital.

The RSK Infrastructure Framework (RIF) #DevelopmentTeam  has now successfully used the RSK-Ethereum token interoperability bridge to expand DeFi capability on the RSK network. The bridge was launched early this year.

The TOB-audited interoperability bridge works by locking DAI in Ethereum and simultaneously minting an interoperable ERC-777 token that can “move freely” in the RSK network. In this arrangement, there is token interoperability. At the same time, the supply of DAI remains unaffected in the base layer.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a suit against cybersecurity entrepreneur John McAfee for his alleged role in manipulating cryptocurrency prices using his social media influence.

“From at least November 2017 through February 2018, McAfee leveraged his fame to make more than $23.1 million U.S. Dollars (‘USD’) in undisclosed compensation by recommending at least seven “initial coin offerings” or ICOs to his Twitter followers,” the court document read.

As per reports, McAfee was arrested in Spain on Monday night and is currently facing extradition to the US.
