Gambling discussion / Re: [NBA] Unofficial Discussion Thread
« on: March 03, 2024, 09:03:33 AM »
When we talk about being efficient, how about Michael Porter Jr.'s perfect field goals against the Lakers? Even more impressive because he made all five from downtown.

Lebron tried to stage another 4th quarter heroics but Nuggets just have enough firepower to spoil his 40K points achievement. It would have been more memorable if they got the win.
The fastest player to reach 10,000 points, 20,000 points, and 30,000 points as well. No wonder "SOME" of the NBA fans call him the GOAT instead of Jordan.

Not a hater of Lebron, but not a fan of him as well, and there are many reasons why I'm not. Anyway, that 40,000 points achievement that he got is very hard to surpass. For that to happen, you need to average at least 20 PPG in your rookie season and play more than 20 seasons. On the other hand, we are entering an era where the teams are focusing more on the offense than defense, so we might see players in the future averaging more than 20 PPG in their first season and will be playing for at least 2 decades.

Well, I lost my parlay bet with this one because I put my bet on the Lakers to win against the Nuggets, but the Nuggets spoiled the excitement of the achievement that Lebron has. Congratulations to the Nuggets, and to Lebron as well for achieving that very rare achievement. I expect that more records will be broken because of him. :)

Re: Which are you doing? Investing or Trading
If it's "Investing or Gambling", I will pick both of them since I tried gambling on some sports bet again. Between the 2 though, I'll go with investing alone.

I can't do both at the same time. I know that trading can be for everyone but not everyone can be profitable in trading, and I'm one of them, unfortunately. I don't know why, but I already realized that trading isn't for me. :( Anyway, I'm focusing more on investing because time is on my side, and I want to approach the volatile market in a semi-conservative way so I just invest into good projects and hold it until the time comes that I need to sell it for profit.

It worked for me in 2021, but I didn't sold all of my holdings at that time. Now I will not do the same mistake again. :)

I want to hear your success stories:
  • Which project and token has brought you the biggest profit?
  • How do you use that profit?
  • What impact has that success had on you?
1. If I just focus on the current holdings that I have, I would say Bitcoin is the coin that gave me the biggest profit. On altcoins, it's the DYM token since I got it all for FREE.

2. I just re-invest it all. I already said to myself since the bear market that whatever happens, I will not pull out any of my current crypto holdings just to buy something that I want. As much as possible, I want to re-invest it all until the bull run happens. I have a feeling that my patience will pay off as we are a few months away from experiencing another bull run (hoping).

3. Impact? Hmmm, none. I mean I don't know if what I'm doing has any impact on me. :D Kind of a funny answer TBH, but none.

Overall, the whole cryptocurrency gave us another opportunity to earn even though we were just at home. Thanks to these tokens/projects, some people changed their lives. There are many people who became millionaires with the help of cryptocurrency.

Meme Coins / Re: Is Shiba Inu coin a good investment?
« on: March 02, 2024, 07:25:05 PM »
We have different opinions when it comes to meme coins, and I will share my own opinion not only on SHIB but on meme coins in general.

SHIB, and all of the meme coins aren't a good long-term coin to hold. I feel bad for those supporters of meme coins here, but that's how I feel about them. Some might see them as a good short to mid-term coin to hold, but in the long run, I believe that there are better coins to hold compared to these types of coins.

I don't have huge losses on SHIB, and I have no plans on buying it as well, but I know that there are some people here who made money on meme coins as well. Anyway, I see SHIB as a very risky asset to invest for a newbie therefore, it's not a good recommendation for them to buy it.

I looked at the picture and I said to myself "I will forever thank our creator because I didn't grow up abusing women." That's straight-up abuse just because of gambling.

Gambling can make a person's mind bad. Money can change somebody's attitude. I can't imagine somebody has the guts to do this to his wife just because he didn't win on that bet. Well as Zed0X said, there's a chance that the 1000 Naira is the abuser's money, and the battered wife used it to buy something maybe. I might disappointed for a bit as well if that happens to me, but not to a point where I will be doing something like that, especially to a girl.

Sorry for my words, but this is something a demon can only do. Beating your wife just because of money. Anyway as for the punishment, it will depend on the current law in your country. You can seek help from an attorney that you know or go to the police. You said it's a true story, and it happened in your area so maybe help the battered wife. Advance thanks :).

But it seems that Celtics is really just stomping on everyone now, with big wins double digit lead and leading the lead. Heck teams are trailing them with what 7 or 8 games? I will be disappointed if they are not going to win and become a NBA champion as their roster looks very solid and Tatum and Brown, the best duo in the NBA right now.
Probably one of the best duos right now in the league, and aside from that, they have a player that's considered one of the best defenders in the league, and they also have a big that can also stretch the defense, shoot perimeters, and can defend the paint. Not only that, let's also give credit to White as he's been a very good contributor ever since he joined the Celtics.

The Celtics are just a few steps away from getting that NBA title, and with how they're playing throughout the whole season, many (including me) are hoping that this season will be the season for them to get that title. On the other hand, we've seen top teams that are playing at their best in the regular season, but fail miserably in the playoffs. Well, I just hope that the Celtics aren't one of them. I already put my bet on them to win the title. :D

Warriors though still hot with another road with against Raptors although Scottie Barnes got injured in this game.
They won on 12 of their last 15 games, but even though they played well, they are still at the 9th spot, only enough to get that play-in spot. Well, the 5th-seeded Suns are only 3 games behind them so they need to play better on their remaining 23 games for a chance to maybe not end up in a play-in spot. :D

Gambling & Crypto Casinos / Re: Government Lotteries are a Scam!
« on: March 02, 2024, 06:05:41 PM »
Well, I guess that gives me more reason not to involve myself in lotteries especially when it's a government-owned lottery.

There's this famous lottery here in our country that's owned by the government, and since it's famous, many average, and some poor people are trying their luck on betting on that establishment. They're hoping that one day, the numbers that they're betting will change their life one day. :D I know that there's a chance for them to win, but how much is that "CHANCE"?

Anyway, some authorities are questioning the government-owned lottery that I'm saying, but they are still operating, and will continue to operate because why not? The government is earning from it, and they will not stop something especially if they're earning from it because that's stupidity. There's money involved so... yeah I guess I'll just avoid this one and will focus on betting on sports games. :D

The question lingers: Will this year bring a shift, or are there indices signaling a potential bullish sentiment for NFTs and their related projects?
When we are in a bull market, everything goes up in value.
Shitcoin, meme coin, NFT, or whatever category they will fall to, most if not all of them will just go in price because we are in a bull market.

As for NFTs, still I will not change how I look at them, especially for those JPEGs out there that have been sold because it has a "VALUE" when in fact it haven't. As for NFT games, there are still projects that are being developed such as XAI, MAVIA, GOG, ILV, etc. Well, those JPEGs out there will always have value because people look at them like there is.

Overall, NFTs will stay in the crypto market as long as there are people who want to support them. Same with Ordinals.

Cryptocurrency Trading / Re: Copytrading suitable?
« on: March 01, 2024, 08:00:57 PM »
The post was made months ago, but still can be applied even in the current year.

But does copy trading truly make a difference? Can it provide a shortcut to understanding complex market dynamics and risk management? And how does it compare to traditional trading methods? These are the questions hovering in your mind
Difference? No.

Nothing will change. No difference will be made. It will not give you knowledge of what's happening with the market. Nothing significant will happen. You will just copy those expert traders, and that's it. You just like "Here's my money. Just continue on trading, and I will just copy you in exchange for some of my profits that I will get in your trade." In copy trading, you aren't working at all. You aren't looking at the charts, but you can still gain profit.

Maybe the difference is the amount of profit that you can get compared to if you are the ones who are trading. It's self-explanatory that the one who does the trade will get more experience than those who are copying. I'm a failure when it comes to trading, so I got curious and tried copy trading on Binace as well. I just tried it for 1 week and got $7 just by copying trades of these experts. It wasn't that much, but that's better since I'm not doing anything.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: When will New All-time high come for btc?
« on: March 01, 2024, 07:11:21 PM »
I voted for the Fall of 2024.

My conservative prediction is that we will see Bitcoin going down a few weeks after the halving event. That will give another opportunity for those who want to accumulate more Bitcoin before the bull run (hoping) starts. 6 months after the halving event, that will be around October of 2024. That will be the start of Bitcoin going up, and up in price, and when I mean up in price, I mean double-digit rise in percentage on the price of Bitcoin.

The more aggressive prediction of mine is that, we might see a new ATH on Bitcoin a few weeks before the halving event even happens. I mean we've seen Bitcoin going as high as $62,000 in just a couple of days, and although Bitcoin is kind of correcting already, there's still a chance that we might see Bitcoin surpassing its past ATH even before the halving event happens.

Cosmos ATOM Forum / Re: What is special about cosmos?
« on: March 01, 2024, 06:51:04 PM »
~
At the time I'm posting this, the price of ATOM is close to $12 already ($11.79 to be exact). Still, I believe that just by staking ATOM alongside TIA, I will make myself eligible for multiple airdrops in the future. I might be wrong though, but I'm holding both of them and will sell at the peak of the bull market. As for JUNO, I've been hearing that coin for a while now but isn't paying attention to it. TBH, I don't know what coins are good to invest under Cosmos Ecosystem aside from ATOM, TIA, OSMO, DYM, AKT, and INJ.
This is just a suggestion, if for TIA you better stake milkyTIA why? Because if you stake milkyTIA when you unstake you don't have to wait 21 days to be able to sell it immediately.
Some projects don't include milkTIA in the requirements. Some require only the TIA that's natively staked. I can't remember the name of the airdrop, but they added milkTIA as a requirement for those who are eligible.

That's what's good about Milky Way right now. If you staked your TIA for milkTIA, and you want to participate in other projects or you simply want to stake it natively thru Keplr or Leap.

Speaking of TIA, there's this new airdrop that I'm seeing on Twitter that gives tokens to those who staked PYTH, TIA, and JUP tokens. The project's name is AARK Digital. How many TIA are needed for us to be eligible? It's 100 TIA, and TBH, it's very high that only a small percentage of TIA token holders are eligible with this drop. Well, on to the next one. :D

Feb 19, 2024 — Self-styled cryptocurrency analyst James CryptoGuru has predicted a $61,000 target for Bitcoin soon. In a recent post on X, .

https://www.coinlive.com/en/news-flash/445175

What is your thoughts in here guys ?
He just stated what's obvious, and now we are giving credit to that analyst already.

I mean we know it way before he said that one that Bitcoin will reach $61,000 anytime soon. We know that it will happen, and yet we are giving credit to that person just because he's an analyst. If that's the case then I'll consider myself as an analyst because I predicted it correctly as well.

As for my opinion on that one, I have no comment, but I just don't like the fact that these news websites are giving credit to a person who's predicting the thing that obviously will happen. Is that analyst that popular? Don't get me wrong OP. I'm not angry at you whatsoever. I'm just disappointed with these news websites.

Why try to overcomplicate things when it doesn't need to?
I mean what do we call a person who is driving? A driver right? What do we call a person who is teaching? A teacher? What do we call a person that's building things? A builder.

Same with this one. What do you call a person who is gambling? Isn't it a gambler? What's wrong with that? If you're gambling, you're a gambler. Simple as that. As for me, since I already tried gambling, I can consider myself a gambler. Now the question is what type of gambler am I? I'm the type of gambler who I consider "SEASONAL" (I just invested this term no worries :D). When I feel that I want to gamble and I have the money (extra), I'll gamble. If I see some events that are worthy of betting on (sports), I'll bet as long as I have the money.

As long as you gamble, you consider yourself a gambler already. It's only a matter of how often you gamble. Are you doing this daily? Or monthly? Or like me who is seasonal. :D

I'm not eligible for Starknet airdrop, but I've seen many users on Twitter who are very disappointed because of that 0.005 ETH. They made transaction way more than the $100 needed, but because the wallet they used don't have any ETH balance, they aren't eligible for that airdrop. Well, if it's me who is in their situation, I'll also be frustrated with the eligibility requirements.

Nevertheless, I think they are more happy than disappointed. Those who got many tokens surely sold their free tokens. The project has a future TBH. With the hype that built around them for months alongside a huge community behind it, I just hope that they will deliver, and will make more developments in their project. Will I buy the token? I don't think so because I've been thinking of buying more DYM tokens. I got free DYM tokens just by staking ATOM, and I'm thinking of buying even more instead of this STRK token.

DeFi tokens / Re: What are your thoughts on the recent trends in DeFi?
« on: February 29, 2024, 06:20:42 PM »
What do you guys think about the recent trends in Defi and its impact on the altcoin market?
They lost their popularity for the past few years, but those top DeFi tokens are still operating, and still working behind the limelight.
What I mean is that they might not be as popular as they were when Uniswap first launched, but they're still working with some DeFi exchanges with TVLs of almost or more than 100 Million dollars.

Speaking of Uniswap, that governance proposal that made its price rise a few days ago might create a domino effect toward other DeFi exchanges as well. Pancakeswap did it already, and I expect more DeFi platforms to do the same as well to compensate those holders of their respective tokens.
