I keep hearing about the Metaverse business from NFT circles. It doesn't make much sense to me, but neither did NFTs to begin with either.

I assume it'll progress well if there's enough interest in it at the moment, which I have noticed reflected onto some projects like MANA that are developing this if not mistaken.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Your Biggest Mistakes in Cryptocurrency
« on: November 05, 2021, 03:56:25 PM »
What are your biggest THREE biggest mistakes when getting involved with cryptocurrency so far?

1. Not putting all my money in at the 200 Week Moving Average for Bitcoin in 2019 (~$3K), but this is more of a less to learn for the future rather than dwell on the past  ;)

2. Not sending worthless tokens to an exchange from an ICO investment in 2018, as they then went up 100x in value. At the time due to gas fees the cost of the ERC20 transfer would have been more than the value of the tokens! Ironically, if I had left the tokens on the exchange they would have been swapped for me and could have taken much profit  ::)

3. Not putting more effort into learning blockchain programming and instead spending too much time focusing on trading shitcoins  >:(

If you want to trade, then better off buying low and selling high. If you want to invest, then better to hold for a long period of time. There are still some projects and tokens that are very low in value, so if you want to invest at a good price (rather than at or near ATH value), then these would be the better options. Either that, or just buy Bitcoin or Ethereum for the long-term and don't overthink it.

Obviously not financial advise

Free airdrops, the ones I realised I received that made good money and especially the ones I hadn't noticed that went up 100x. The tokens I never swapped before going up 100x in value, and therefore being unable to cash in. That NFT collection that had it's data taken hostage by the web hosting, so in the end up the UI went offline, collection lost.

I've so far avoided getting scammed, but a good handful of investments have gone to 0 among others that have done incredibly well.

Cryptocurrency Price Speculations / Re: XRP Price Prediction for 2021
« on: November 04, 2021, 06:19:45 PM »
To me XRP is a coin that hasn't looked good against Bitcoin since 2017. It's one of those older ex-blue chip coins that continues to lose Bitcoin value, with the occasional over-selling and over-buying conditions. Something tradeable, but not so far something worth holding long-term. If it fails to move back above the 50 Week MA, I'd expect lower lows.

The golden line is otherwise the 200 Week MA, that after 4 years of consistent downside movement, is now sloping downwards in bearish fashion.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Recent Projects That Surprised You
« on: November 04, 2021, 04:54:14 PM »
Two projects that have surprised me recently, after seeing many many bounty projects come through this forum and end up nowhere, would be ferrum network and iotex, both from 2019 bounties if not mistaken. They both appear to be doing quite well, FRM is well above it's bounty reward price around 10-20x, and IOTX is now at USD ATH and recovering nicely against BTC.

I'm not recommending either of these two projects at all, but ferrum was one I wish I had finished to get the rewards from (even if would have been unlikely to hodl them), and now starting to wonder if should have held some iotex instead of selling for Ether, even if so far the Ethereum worked out well, and I wouldn't consider investing in them now after recent price gains.

Anyway, my point is sometimes it's the projects you least expect to do so well, rather than the ones you think will do the best in the long-run.

Ethereum Forum / Will Ethereum flip Bitcoin this cycle?
« on: November 04, 2021, 04:37:31 PM »
Ethereum is worth back above 0.07 BTC and currently worth 46% of Bitcoin's market capitalisation and back to 20% of the entire crypto market. Price against USD etc is now back to or above all time high around $4,500 (depending on the exchange). As the no.1 altcoin, it's certainly failing to disappoint investors, especially with Bitcoin still 5% from it's previous ATH.

Question is, will "the flippening" happen in this cycle, next cycle or will Bitcoin remain the no.1 cryptocurrency for the future?

Increasing the warning. Post moderat now

Not working, his posts appear without postmoderation. ???

They were when 30-40%. But as time goes on the warning level decreases back to a warning, then 0. The time out muting obviously didn't work.
I've now given 1 strike and increased warning level to +30% (muted). I suggest someone else add another 10-20%.
Baby steps still has a chance to change... but needs more time.

Suggestion Box / Re: GameFi sections
« on: November 01, 2021, 02:25:08 PM »
Hello, I would like to recommend myself for GameFi forum...

Sounds fine by me.

GameFi segment is not small and is getting bigger and bigger.

However the GameFi section is very small, with only a dozen topics and 100 odd posts. For it to be worth developing it'd need more content to begin with.

Due to growth we will surely have to have more space, but without these 3 sub-forums I cannot guarantee that my work can be carried out correctly.

That's ok, it doesn't need to be the next best section here. If the section thrives after some months, and there is enough content there, then there can be more sections added to it. Similar to how the NFT section as developed over time, even if slowly.

The same applies to NFT's forum where I wished for better and clearer organization from the start. You can always do something there, it doesn't necessarily have to stay that way.

I also think it's about time for a news section there (maybe as child board of NFT & collectibles), to try and separate news from interesting discussions. But even with the amount of topics started there, the majority have 0 replies. Very few articles at all have discussions there. It seems like it'd be emptying the section of articles.

Just my two satoshis anyway.
