Isn't volatility the common feature of every coin?  The whole crypto market is volatile, and the prices are really hard to predict. Take Bitcoin market as an example. In 2017, Bitcoin price reached the peak, with nearly $20K and it plummeted down to around $6.5k now. So the decreasing price is almost $13.5K, which is a very huge gap!! When Bitcoin ETF proposal is awaiting the approval from SEC, Bitcoin has an explosive rise, increasing 10% less than one hour, extending to $7,546. But the price fell down to around $6.5K soon. And the same happened several days ago, big rally, and big drop subsequently!

I just get to know encrypted currency and blockchain in these days, definitely, I felt amazing about the new concepts and tech. And there is one insane question raised from my ignorance.

One of the great features of blockchain technologies is decentralized, so that means it can weaken central authority power, and makes every one own the right to make decisions. Any resource and information that related to us will be thorough transparent so we don't need government to supervise and make a desition. If blockchain has been accepted by humans and applied to every sector of our life, what else the government can do for our life？ If government disappeared so the nation's boundaries will vanish together?

I have that feeling too. Once I read an analysis, it showed that 98% of the top 100 cryptocurrencies are based on Ethereum blockchain. So I think Ether has the great developing potential. The highest price is around $1377, but still have a large gap comparing the peek of bitcoin price. So, in a short time, the great rally that pours ether price up to $20k will not happen before any practical applicational improvement drawing public attention.

A blog had pointed out that in the past two years, the word “Ethereum” have been googled out over 0.11 billion times. On Twitter, there are more than 20,000 tweets on the hashtag with #ethereum on average each day. The ETH network has handled about 240 million transactions. On Jan 4th, it completed 1.3 million transactions within 24 hours, creating the highest single-day transaction volume.

There are nearly 1,7000 Ethereum nodes running on six continents in the world, which makes Ethereum the most decentralized platform, one of the symbols is that Ethereum network contains more than 350 million different addresses. The number of active addresses on Ethereum network exceeded 100 million for the first time on Jan 4th, and created more than 350,000 new addresses with 24 hours.

Ethereum is also the most active smart contracts platform. Among the tokens of top 100 by market capitalization, 94 tokens are based on Ethereum. Of the first 800 tokens, 87 percent were based on Ethereum.
