Bitcoin Forum / Re: Soon Bitcoin will reach a new All Time High !!!

It had the same potential last year, but it didn't quite happen, even though it was close. I think it is certainly possible, but I have decided to just wait and see, because its price is so volatile.

I have a friend who cleans her house obsessively when she's stressed or depressed. People cope with that in different ways.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Should Bitcoin be an investment or store of value?

I don't feel too comfortable with the idea of Bitcoin as a store of value at the moment. It's too volatile. But that may change in the future, as the industry grows and matures.

Are there any banks other than the El Salvadorian ones that deal in Bitcoin though? At least I am assuming the banks in El Salvador do, I haven't actually heard any details on the matter.

Dubai seems to be becoming a major cryptocurrency hub. They even created their own crypto industry regulator very recently to oversee the local businesses. Considering the size of this Expo, I am not surprised this was necessary.

I agree. It's three years now, but that is still a very long time and who knows what will happen in the meantime. Look at the past two to three years, first there was a global pandemic and now there's a large-scale war in Europe. If someone had told me three years ago to expect these things I'd have laughed. Now I'm wary of anything.

With the energy crunch that may be coming in so many countries I imagine electric cars will become more popular than ever.

I did not know the part about IOC. That is pretty interesting actually. I wonder if we'd ever see video games at the Olympic games. Maybe not anytime soon, but who knows, it may still happen.

I don't think anyone can say for sure at all. Look at how the global economy changed just in the space of a month after Russia invaded Ukraine. Who knows what the situation will be like by 2025.

I am still wondering who would pay Russia with Bitcoin for their hydrocarbons, when various countries are refusing to pay them even in roubles.

Playstation 5 units that have been sold worldwide consume more energy than Bitcoin mining... The Chinese government has not "banned" Bitcoin from its country for energy consumption, it has done so because of the economic threat it poses to its sovereign currency. There are many alternatives to electric mining, and some are already used by mining groups and companies. Electricity consumption has only been an excuse by the Chinese government.

Yeah, there are many alternative to electric mining , I think the government should have good solution if the ban bitcoin mining because of environmental reason.
Maybe  solar energy or other will be alternative.
Good to hear China has not banned bitcoin mining.
Hopefully Chinese government will accept bitcoin.
Let's see.

Last I checked, China has essentially banned everything to do with cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin mining. The Chinese Hash Rate – the total amount of computing power used to mine bitcoins and process transactions as a percent of the global Bitcoin Network has fallen virtually to zero. And I doubt they will change their mind anytime soon, unfortunately.

Which country will pay them in Bitcoin though? The EU doesn't even want to pay them in roubles.
As for Bitcoin's reputation, I agree. Bitcoin will suffer if it gets the reputation of being used to fund a war.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Which company will be the next to accept Bitcoin?

I agree. Apple is, essentially, a closed garden. They like to be in full control of their products. They could never do that with the cryptos that already exist. Maybe in time they could create a stablecoin of their own, but considering how Facebook's turned out, I doubt we'd see that happening anytime soon.

That applies to all markets. People buy low and sell high, that is the nature of any trade ever, not just cryptocurrencies.

I like trading cryptos a lot, but for now I am sceptical about using them as long-term payment option. They are much too volatile.
