Smart contracts certainly have features that traditional contracts don't. However, there aren't many experts and therefore businesses that are able to use smart contracts in their everyday transactions, which is unfortunately a big disadvantage.

XRP - Ripple Forum / Re: Why Should We Hate Ripple ??
« on: April 04, 2022, 10:37:29 AM »
The controversial opinions surrounding Ripple have a lot to do with the fact that the SEC lawsuit has resulted in a huge amount of publicity, so now pretty much everyone has an opinion whether or not they were interested in Ripple beforehand.
I personally don't hate it.

Crypto Exchanges / Re: How to choose a reliable crypto exchange?
« on: April 04, 2022, 10:34:28 AM »
I agree with your criteria, with security being the most important one of all. It is also worth looking at the liquidity and the fees and commissions of a given exchange.

Banks & Cryptos / Re: European Inflation Skyrockets to Record 7.5%
« on: April 04, 2022, 10:29:51 AM »
As a European, I have never felt inflation on my own skin as much as I do now, especially when it comes to basic grocery expenses. My country's inflation was also around 7% last year.

Sorting Box / Re: I need advice about buy some good coins.

I second the comments about Unilab, it seems like a good one to me as well.

My preference is to either invest in well-established cryptos, or invest in both well-established and new ones. Investing in new tokens only means higher overall risks, so I would avoid that, unless you are fully prepared to deal with potentially severe losses in case things go south.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Cryptocurrency is the Future of Money
« on: April 04, 2022, 10:13:26 AM »
I also think cryptos could be the future of money - just probably not the current ones. Countries making their own CBDC's is more likely in my opinion, although that doesn't exactly fit the idea of decentralisation.

The future utility of blockchain technology in general is also an interesting topic. There are just so many different areas where it could be used even outside of the world of finance.

Currently I am happy with just sticking to regular cryptocurrency investing and trading. In many cases I have more trust in their long-term profitablity than that of NFT's.

I think they could be huge. They have seen a massive increase in popularity as a lot of people seem to be interested in them. I definitely see a lot of potential there.

Cryptocurrency Trading / Re: Thoughts on Freelancing in Crypto?
« on: March 21, 2022, 02:12:41 PM »
I don't know a lot about cryptocurrency freelancing, but I know that there are bounty campaigns that you might be able to join. Just be careful not to get into one that ends up not paying you in the end.

It's hard to say. I'm not surprised that adaptation has been relatively slow.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Why Bitcoin is so popular?
« on: March 21, 2022, 01:59:58 PM »
The increasing value is not just due to the fact that Bitcoin is widespread - it is also because of its limited supply. It is also the oldest cryptocurrency and it is very liquid, which adds to its popularity.

Different stablecoins will work on different blockchains in some cases, but their main benefit is pretty universal. I like to use it for keeping my money stable in between trades.

Stable Coins Forum / Re: Why are these coins called stable coins?
« on: March 15, 2022, 01:56:42 PM »
Like others have said, they are backed by fiat currencies, therefore their price consistently remain roughly the same as 1 unit of the currency they are tied to, for example 1 USD. It is useful to know about them as they are a good option when you are in between trades or sell something you've been holding and want to keep your money at a stable value for some time. Using stablecoins, you don't have to switch your cryptos back to fiat money.

I think the truth lies somewhere in between. I believe that diversification is very important, whether you are looking to hold for long-term profits, trade, or speculate on very new cryptocurrencies. So even if you are interested in newer, more risky cryptos, it is worth having some top 10 cryptos in your portfolio so that your overall risks are lower.
