@bitmover, slightly offtopic question. You have an account with Namesilo because you registered your domain with them. Did they ever ask you for personal information or any kind of verification?

My account is quite old there, and I know that I had to go through verification for some domains. I'm interested in how the case is now.

They didn't ask me for any kyc yet...

This would be a terrible turn of events. I am quite comfortable with namesilo, I wouldnt want to change to another registrar

Given that Namesilo has the option of paying with Bitcoin without the service of an intermediary, and no KYC is required during domain registration, can we consider it a NO-KYC domain registrar?

Again, sorry for being a bit offtopic

It's a bit low, so now the transaction fee in mixtum is still at that price if I use its function? I only experienced that once and didn't follow it, and recently I thought of learning and practicing the mixing process in bitcoin actually.

And when I watched the Mixtum video tutorial, the explanation was clear on how to send or receive Bitcoin, on other Mixing platforms, because I was still confused, but it's really different here on Mixtum.

Honestly, it's a little confusing what you wanted to explain, but I'll try to answer you.

If you use the free test option on Mixtum, then you can do it without costs to Mixtum or paying any service fee. But the amount you will mix must be exactly 0.001BTC.

As for the mixing process itself, it is almost the same on all mixers and the biggest differences are in the appearance of the interface itself. The choice of mixer that you will use is most influenced by its reputation and reliability, which Mixtum has.

eXch.cx exchange just f***** up Vitalik and donated 31ETH to this case.  8)

Our donations today:

31 ETH - Legal Defense Fund support for Tornado Cash developers Alexey Pertsev and Roman Storm (https://juicebox.money/@free-pertsev-and-storm, https://wewantjusticedao.org) - https://etherscan.io/tx/0x98bfc604c917ccc83d1a86b7af1542011a5aa54208dd110036e2c280a963a498

We believe that their legal team should consider highlighting the fact that crypto was never considered a financial instrument for many years in addition to being unregulated, which should automatically make any attempts to apply fiat-based anti-money laundering regulations to anyone working with crypto unlawful. Basing the defense line on historical facts where major central banks and governments refused to admit crypto as a financial instrument should bring positive results. FATF documentation contains lots of inaccuracies and their VASP-related guidance approaching crypto is highly immature. There is a lot of material to structuralize good defense.

All I can say (what I know) is that it is very difficult to become an investor since the number of applications exceeds the need by an order of magnitude (and this trend has been going on for about a year). It seems one of the developers mentioned that the probability that your application will be approved is less than 3-5%, even if you are a miner.
That is very low odds, so maybe they should add that updated information on Investors page.

There is information about current demands on the Jambler site. It is a graphic, so it may not seem the most precise, but it certainly gives information (I assume it is correct)
At this moment, it seems that there is a great need for investment in Bitcoin (4 BTC), and the investment return time is about 2 hours

When i write this reply, the donation address already receive 2239 ETH (about $4.8 million). And while it's possible he did that to be in spotlight, i expect it encourage few people to also make donation.

It will be sad that all that money will be "eaten" by lawyers.
As everything looks now, there won't be much help for Alexey, but creating more publicity and providing resistance could soften the attitude of the authorities towards similar cases in the future.

I'm more intrigued why people who work on such things don't try to remain anonymous? I guess these people should realize that what they do attracts a lot of attention, and mixing has been on the black list for years. In this way, the authorities want to send a clear message to everyone who will ever try something similar - and I hope that everyone who will work on something that enables privacy will first of all know how to protect their privacy.

They were under the assumption, "I'm not going to be caught"

Update: Everything looks good now, the site pxzone.online and the telegram bot is now running. I just need to scrape the posts those few days that the bot was down. Unfortunately, karma transactions were not recorded so i can't log them anymore.

Sorry for the inconvenience it caused.

Glad to see you got the hard drive back. somewhat bizarre situation

What do you mean by this karma log non-recording, it means that there are no more notifications for receiving +,- karma?

Basic questions about this forum / Re: My question about Karma?
« on: June 03, 2024, 02:17:33 PM »
Do you have a link explaining that some moderators can check the forum logs to monitor karma abuse?

As far as I know, the only person who can monitor karma abuse via forum logs is the admin, and moderators do not have access to monitor karma logs. The only exception is for users who want to know by fulfilling the requirements as the admin explains here: The Eye of Sauron - See who gave you karma.

I think I've already said it (also the administrator and other moderators) on occasion, but I don't mind repeating it: neither the president nor the vice president nor the global moderators have access to that information. Only the administrator has access to the forum's karma logs. I guess @examplens was wrong and was talking about another feature that more forum staff have access to.

OK, let me be more specific. I have no information about the hierarchy on this forum and the exact powers of the moderators. I got the impression that more than one person does the administration of the forum.

What I wanted to point out is that with certain authorizations it is possible to see the karma log (with the fact that it is possible to get such information by burning ALTT tokens). Whether it is possible and how complicated it is to implement anything related to the karma system, probably only the admin can give an answer.

It is completely irrelevant whether only one or 5 users have the possibility to see the karma log. I don't see why there is a drama about it.

Ask a Moderator / Re: Moving the topic to the wrong board ?
« on: June 02, 2024, 12:38:10 AM »
I will wait for TomPluz's response. However, I think TomPluz has a reason to move this topic to the Ethereum board:

1. Tornado Cash is a crypto mixing service that operates on Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible networks. I don't think Tornado Cash supports BTC, except for WBTC on Ethereum.
2. The topic mentions the actions of Vitalik Buterin, the developer of Ethereum.

My mistake, thx MrSpasybo.
I wanted to go in a different direction, but it doesn't matter.
Closing discussion.

Telegram bot will be temporary unavailable due to server maintenance of my hosting (issue of one of the nodes of my instance), this will include the whole site pxzone.online, i don't know when it will be fixed though.  :-\

I miss this bot  :(

Oo..I see that is why I am not receiving any notification from 30th May evening. I hope it will gonna be fixed soon because we are going to used to it and became our life saver tools.
And I will suggest that if you can able to switch more better host that will be great for forum users.

I guess PX-Z will not mind
Here is another notification bot created by bitmover https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=315998
It can help until PX-Z fix his things

A little more than $100k is realistically very little money when it comes to a case like this in which lawyers will cost a lot - so I think that Mr. V could have "worked harder" considering how much wealth he has amassed in the past 10 years. It is true that he did not have to give anything, but I always look at donations in the context of how much money someone has - and they say that he became a billionaire a few years ago.

What would 100k bills do in a case this large? I saw this in the news and was fuming as well. I mean, this is something a day trader can pull out without breaking the bank I've always told people that billionaires are the most selfish individuals on the planet; they treasure every penny in their pocket. Mr. Etheruem just want to be in the spotlight, nothing else.

I think there is a possibility to appeal the verdict. The whole process is expensive, so any donation is certainly welcome.
Since before, there has been a site to support Alexa https://www.freealex.nl/
Whatever his intention, it sounds much more authoritative when Vitalik Buterin gives support than examplens or Igebotz from Altcoinstalks

Quote
Alexey Pertsev has been found guilty of various money laundering offences (36 illegal activities); what difference will the donation make now? And why is no one talking about the charges against Alexey Pertsev? Are we going to start donating money to criminal defence now to maintain privacy protocols?

Alexey Pertsev is the developer only. It's worrying if you don't see developers being treated like criminals.
Do you know that Roman Storm Tornado Cash Co-Founder has reportedly pleaded ‘not guilty’ to money laundering and other charges?
Do you see anything illogical in the whole thing?

Ask a Moderator / Moving the topic to the wrong board ?
« on: June 01, 2024, 12:09:54 PM »
So, initially, I opened a topic Vitalik Buterin Donates 30 ETH to Support Tornado Cash Devs in the Bitcoin discussion board.
TornadoCash is a bitcoin service, and everything related to this case is most directly related to the Bitcoin ecosystem, and only then indirectly to all other cryptocurrencies. Ethereum is even the least important in the whole case.

Now I see that moderator TomPluz has moved this discussion to the Ethereum board https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=321739.msg1565162#msg1565162

So, I have a few questions for other mods and TomPluz
- To all, Is the discussion about the Bitcoin service suitable for the Ethereum board only because it is a donation in ETH?

- To TomPluz, Are you even familiar with what this case is about? Based on your comment left in the thread, I would say that you are not.
- If not, why did you write a completely irrelevant comment there?
- Finally, if you can briefly explain how you concluded that it is about Ethereum things?

So I was correct, the only reason for using this token is promises with profits that will be achieved or incomprehensible words.

Pump and dump scheme. All meme tokens are created to bring profit, mostly for the creators. Especially these sub-meme tokens, which are trying to take a piece of the pie through their successful older brother.
Pepe brought a good profit to those who started it, now there are new ones like Pepepizzeria trying to cash in on some of Pepe's fame. It is certainly not and will not be the only one that will use a similar name. Everything seen earlier with Doge, Shiba etc...

What you say is a fact, without a doubt. But even if that happened, the user base would continue to grow and fortunately, not all users would be inactive. It is true that a decrease in activity has been noticed in recent weeks, but that is something that would happen whether or not there are signature campaigns, it is something that I have seen in previous years. I don't think we should think too much about the activity data, continuing to contribute to the forum is the best we can do.

I am quite surprised disappointed by the way the forum is treated by a large part of users, especially the original (non-teleported) ones. Many participate only and exclusively in filling out a signature quote while writing a meaningless wall of text that does not attract anyone's attention.
So, it is possible to discuss what this forum offers, while users fill the forum with non-sense answers or behave like bots by answering software-generated replies.  :(
