Some might say that idiots who do this are simply idiots, but an idiot who has a lot of money also has a lot of power - and money rules the world.

An idiot who rules the world is not an idiot, that is a sinister, cunning person.

I have my doubts that someone who can't even summon common sense when it is desperately required is able to muster the resources to rule the world.

Oh man, can we stop with this nonsense already?

The main in the video is Dorian Nakamoto and not Satoshi Nakamoto. He was falsely reported as creating Bitcoin by some magazines 10 years ago, and obviously it gave him a lot of trouble, and as you might have expected, he didn't even have any bitcoin nor had heard of it.

In my country, using TOR (without VPN) is not recommended.   Even though the ISP cannot decrypt this traffic (when using TOR), the very fact of using a software tool like TOR is considered a negative point.  Theoretically, the Internet provider can report this fact to law enforcement agencies (as a suspicious fact).   There are precedents for people being considered criminals simply because they used TOR.  However, they did not commit crimes.  Unfortunately, our world is becoming very unfree.

Then you need to use Tor bridges because they are designed exactly for situations like this.

You see, the regular Tor network works fine most of the times. But if your ISP is blocking or incriminating Tor use, you can connect to a bridge. These bridges impersonate as some other kind of traffic, like Microsoft traffic or AWS traffic, and then that is all the ISP will be able to see. They will no longer be able to know the fact that you connected to Tor.

What is correct here, do you have JavaScript or not?

We can check that manually using Chrome/Firefox DevTools though (just open Anonymixer and press F12).

Ethereum Forum / Re: What is this? [rant]

It's Coinbase Wallet,

So use USDC  ;)
But, you knew it already, the moment you actually agreed to start using that thing you should have been prepared for surprises.
It's typical behavior, to increase prices artificially to promote the in-house alternative, just like Biannce keeps fees up for BTC while lowering those for the token.

I'm not sure whether USDC runs on the Ethereum network because if it does then it won't solve anything.

I have been leaning towards Polygon but I am having trouble finding robust exchanges for it besides Tradeogre.

Doge waiting smiling in the background!

Dogecoin is not supported unfortunately at all by Coinbase. It seems like they decided that BTC and other utxo-style chains are too difficult for them to support.

Ethereum Forum / Re: CAN I EARN JUST BY HOLDING MY ETHEREUM
« on: June 06, 2024, 11:13:27 AM »
I’ve been holding onto my Ethereum and Bitcoin cash for a while now, and honestly, I’ve been unsure about what to do with it. I know ETH is a valuable asset, but simply holding it doesn't seem like the best way to maximize its potential. Price has been flying up and down recently, but i'm bullish on it with the upcoming ETF approval, that is if it was approved it will be a plus for most retail holders like myself. Do you have any idea how i can make the most out of my holdings.

Umm... Ethereum is not going to make you a quick profit just by HODLing it. Neither will Bitcoin to be fair, unless you got into it very early and are one of the early adapters. So if that's not the case for you, then the answer is no, it's not going to be enough, and you'll need to add more Ethereum to your accounts.

Bitcoin Cash though, I'm going to be shameless. Sell your bags now and convert them to ETH maybe.

52
ETH might reach $5 before Bitcoin reaches $100K, but only if the ETF activity with Ethereum reaches a fever pitch.

Otherwise I can really see them both hitting their targets at the same time, but sometime next year. After all, BTC feels like it's closer to $100K relatively speaking, than ETH is to $5K. I mean remember it used to be worth just a few hundred dollars.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: What Altcoins Do you have?
« on: June 06, 2024, 10:59:46 AM »
Firstly I want to say that I also spend some times with the influencers on social media's for knowing some analysis skill and some time the analysis of some coin but I don't invest by the based of those analyses, I also gave some time also explore net other reputable site articles, who are the backed of those project, maximum supply, circulating supply and their market cap etc. And then I come to a place for the investment.  And I think spending time on viewing the video's responsibilities and the investment responsibility wasn't same.

Most "influencers" don't know jack about crypto and they spend more of their time flaunting their money (or trying to sell you their courses) than actual trading analysis.

This is a periodic reminder that you should not take any trading advice from anyone unless they have a background in trading and have the necessary experience to back it up.

I'm skeptical when I see community-led projects because of what happened to the tokens I had before. They say no team holdings but they're usually manipulated by huge bag holders and do not last that long. I'll probably just throw a couple of hundreds as a gamble and see what happens by the end of the year.
Community-led projects with meme tokens, good luck to who believe in those projects and bet big with them. Bet in them with small money you have, compares to your total capital, is acceptable if you afford to lose that money.

I don't think most meme coins even have a community - most of the times , "community-lead" just means a bunch of suckers coming together on Discord who just want to make money.

They're usually not people who would want to improve something with cryptocurrency in any meaningful way. Many of them are just get-rich-quick schemes.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Future of Bitcoin
« on: June 06, 2024, 10:42:51 AM »
An anonymous Bitcoin miner from Satoshi Nakamoto's time has revealed that he owns 5,000 BTC that he mined back in 2010. Moreover, the cryptan even signed a transaction from an ancient wallet with 500 BTC - all so that he would not be considered a blabbermouth liar. Also, the unknown hodler shared that he used to have more than 10,000 BTC - he sells some coins during every All-time high (ATH).

That's actually incredible. Props to him.

I understand him going anonymous though. Lots of bad actors would love to have all that BTC. Even the exchanges would be suspicious about the BTC if he had tried to cash it out all at once.

Later in the comments he does mention that he moves BTC around in a lot of addresses to break them into smaller pieces whenever he wants to cash out.

Forum related / Re: Bitcoin Pizza Day at AltcoinsTalks
« on: June 06, 2024, 10:29:13 AM »
I wonder if other altcoins have their own holidays. If there are, it feels pretty weird that I don't see them anywhere, given that this is an altcoins forum.

However, I'm sure that Bitcoin Pizza day is probably the most famous and well-known holiday in all of cryptocurrency, so it would also be a bit weird if the admin had not put a banner about it here.

I think *this week* is taking a tad bit too far, don't you think?

Maybe next week or even the next 7 days is a better timeframe. Because it's Thursday and that means the week is almost over.

Doesn't matter if the price just rocked to $71K. That is not enough time to continue making a turnaround, unless Elon were to spontaneously tweet something bullish about crypto (as some people are actually dumb enough to use his tweets as trading signals).

I wonder what is the thing about Truecrypt volumes that just make them fail so suddenly. Maybe it's the fact that the underlying hard disk got a few read errors which had corrupted the volume?

I don't know if having a truecrypt partition requires the underlying hard disk drive to be spotless for proper operation, but these kind of things are what make me shy away from using them as a single backup.

How about filter or detect word "bitget" for new account? Is it tehnically possible?

GREAT IDEA
this is a very good idea, making sure that there are filters for brand new accounts
it makes a lot of sense, it's smart, it doesn't limit the freedom of users and above all you go and punish those who register only to spam
not punish sorry, but filtering so registering new accounts is practically useless

That would just make people create random-sounding usernames in order to promote Bitget.

It's more of a band-aid solution, that doesn't really address the problem at the source. Like I said, it would be better to just move said posts to incentivized posting/shill section or even just delete them entirely.

@bitmover, slightly offtopic question. You have an account with Namesilo because you registered your domain with them. Did they ever ask you for personal information or any kind of verification?

My account is quite old there, and I know that I had to go through verification for some domains. I'm interested in how the case is now.

Wildly depends on the TLD you buy. For instance, only US residents (or just citizens?) are allowed to own .us domains, and only EU residents can buy the .eu domains. So it wouldn't surprise me if a registrar was legally compelled to ask for identification in those cases.

Your name is getting some wrong results when we have learn and bitcoin in the same sentence.. I will try to fix soon

Why don't you try implementing a case-sensitive search option?

There are some NLP techniques for identifying the context of a word, so maybe you could do some research into those methods.
