However, I would approach the whole thing from a different angle when it comes to someone I know - because in order to be successful in something, one must have the desire and will to do something and be a part of something. Therefore, I would first ask my brothers or friends if they are interested in cryptocurrencies and if they want to learn something about all this through interaction with other people, and if their answer is positive, I would help them to register and become members of the forum.

During almost 10 years on BTT, I have witnessed hundreds of beginners who became members of the forum only because someone told them (or they read) that this is how you can earn some magic money, and according to my estimation, not even 10% of all of them stayed on the forum.

What I want to say is that money can be a very good motivation, but that most people cannot force themselves to do what they don't really want to do.

News related to Crypto / Re: Bitcoin Touched But Failed at $53K
« on: February 25, 2024, 04:01:08 PM »
I was a little confused when I read the headline, considering that I didn't notice that the price reached $53k, and then I checked the date of the article, which is from February 21 when the price (depending on where we look) was close to $53k but did not reach it.

However, we need to be realistic and understand that all this that has been happening since the beginning of the year has a cause in the approval of spot BTC ETFs in the US, which according to some data have accumulated around 300 000 BTC so far, which is an impressive figure - although they use the OTC market and that's why the price is still under relative control.

My opinion is that we will see the real action only in the months after the halving, with a note that summer in the Northern Hemisphere is not exactly a time in which a lot of things happen, considering that most people travel for their annual vacations then.

Will Gavin Andresen, who once declared that CW is the real Satoshi, be at the trial? Who knows, maybe he changed his mind again, for the right price of course :D
If he were bribed by CSW and agree to it, he'd have hard time in court due to 2 of his past blog post.

Gavin has always been a man with a price around his neck, whether he was "bought" by a famous three-letter agency or "persuaded" by Faketoshi to say he was Satoshi. When I read about the events from the early days when Satoshi was still active, I was amazed by the fact that Satoshi valued Gavin so much, while Gavin was at times even aggressive in calling out Satoshi for making too many decisions on his own.

Luckily, Satoshi stuck around long enough to steer Bitcoin in the right direction, because who knows what Gavin and some others would have made of it all.

Cryptocurrency Price Speculations / Re: Will bitcoin be worth 1M in 2030?
« on: February 24, 2024, 05:48:37 PM »
I understand that many dream of becoming millionaires, but I think they really expect too much from Bitcoin in such a short period of time. If in 15 years the price of 1 BTC did not even reach $100k, how will it reach $1 million in the next 6 years?

Does anyone account for inflation in that period and what will actually be able to buy with $1 million in 2030?

I think that most of those who teleported from BTT would have the same answer and that should not be a surprise. We are all motivated to earn something through signature campaigns, but at the same time to promote something that we think makes sense and is useful for the crypto community.

As for mixers, I believe that their promotion on this forum makes sense and brings them a profit that is well balanced with the costs they have for advertising through signature campaigns and forum advertisements. I hope that the mixers will succeed in making this forum a good place for them to advertise, and that over time they will increase their pay rates, which will be a good indicator that they are doing well.

I'd like to hear your opinion on this issue:
  • Does Reddit's crypto investment surprise you?
  • Do you believe other private companies are holding undisclosed crypto?
  • Is the potential concentration of crypto in corporate reserves beneficial or detrimental to crypto market?

I personally am not surprised at all, because for years various companies and individuals have realized that investing in cryptocurrencies can make a lot of money, and considering the economic situation in the world, diversification is something that is imposed as an imperative.

How bad and good such investments are for Bitcoin in the long term is hard to say, but the market is open to everyone and only time will tell what the consequences will be. Although many people do not like the fact that the rich have already bought (and will continue to buy), it should be emphasized that Bitcoin and altcoins have been off the radar of most of these companies and individuals for a long time, which means that ordinary little people had a lot of time to take advantage of the opportunity to they overtake them in something in which they are usually at an advantage.

In other words, if they want a ticket for this game, they will have to pay dearly for it, and in a way, it can be a great satisfaction for everyone who invested in the past.

@ABCbits, it seems to me that Finland is a fairly windy country, although there are probably periods when the wind is weaker than usual. What the facts say is that Finland covers slightly more than 18% of its needs from wind energy and that capacities and production are increasing year by year.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wind_power_in_Finland

Besides wind, Finland also uses its hydro resources and solar energy, which could be an alternative to crypto miners when the opportunity arises. However, I would like to point out that, apart from Finland, countries like Norway and Sweden certainly come into consideration, although I think that all these possibilities should be seen from a political perspective in the first place.

Companies that issue employee salaries with Bitcoin certainly have to be in countries that have completely legalized Bitcoin,
~snip~

There does not have to be any kind of complete legalization, but only the possibility that the employer pays the worker in a currency other than the one that is official in the country. The employer and employee can agree on a way that the salary is paid 80% in fiat and 20% in Bitcoin, and it is important for the state that the employer pays all the contributions for that employee.

However, due to the volatility that is present with Bitcoin, it will be difficult for people to decide to be paid in the same, because there is always the possibility of losing 5-10% of the value in a very short period of time. However, for those who would decide to invest in Bitcoin using the DCA method, a part of their salary that would be paid to them every month in BTC would definitely make sense.

When a person is convinced that a lie is the truth to such an extent that he cannot get away with it anymore, then he becomes a pathological liar. Faketoshi is just such a person who will do everything to continue to present his lie in order to stay in the spotlight as long as possible.

People who cooperated with Satoshi surely know that he is not that man even without seeing any proof, and when someone presents hundreds of fabricated documents then there should be no doubts for anyone.

Will Gavin Andresen, who once declared that CW is the real Satoshi, be at the trial? Who knows, maybe he changed his mind again, for the right price of course :D

A man who earned hundreds of millions of $ obviously cannot be someone who would be called a fool who knows nothing, and yet I don't know if he is wrong only with Bitcoin or with some other things? However, given that the man lives and works in the US, I wouldn't be at all surprised if his employer pays him to do exactly what he does - because much stranger things than that happen in that country.

In the past, his "wrong" forecasts were still somewhat "interesting" to me, but over time he become completely uninteresting and I don't look back at what he says at all. There was another "wise man" who often talked nonsense about Bitcoin until he realized that he obviously knew nothing about it, so he decided to tie his tongue a little - although he may be slipping under my radar all the time - his name is Tom Lee ::)

You want to say in response to the OP's question "the best way to invest in cryptocurrency" is an investment in learning and education about the things you mentioned.
Probably the best advice the OP could get, I believe that every beginner would have to slow down here.

Exactly, because in most cases the opposite approach generally results in a lot of disappointment, frustration and of course financial loss. The problem is that only a few want to slow down because they feel FOMO, but in fact they are doing themselves much more harm than good because they are investing in something they don't even know the basics about.

I always advise people to learn something first, and only then invest - but most of them don't listen, and that's why scammers and hackers live very nicely on their easy earnings.

I think the nations who understand the value of it, will all end up investing into mining, even China is trying their best to do whatever they can, it should be important to notice that because if China is going back in, that shows you how important it has to be to do something like this, it must be quite important.
~snip~

Some people overestimat Bitcoin mining to the extent that they think it can have significant positive effects on a country, so they think that China lost a lot of money because it banned BTC mining, while on the other hand the truth is completely different. Even if China allowed BTC mining again and all the miners moved there, all that profit from selling BTC would be just a drop in the ocean when it comes to China's economy which has a GDP of over $17 trillion annually.

Bitcoin, as a decentralized cryptocurrency, cannot succeed in a country that controls absolutely everything, and I think that this should already be clear to people. In addition, with 19.635 million BTC already mined, there is not much left, and by the end of the decade we will reach about 99% of mined BTC.

If I were Satoshi Nakamoto, I would probably send the entire 1M BTC to charities around the world. I would not dare to appear and have my identity revealed for fear of endangering my life. Bitcoin has succeeded beyond all initial expectations  ;D

Do you know how much damage that would do to the price of BTC? Satoshi is doing us all a great favor by staying in the shadows, and also sends us a clear message that he didn't invent Bitcoin to get rich off of it. In addition, if Satoshi tried to share his wealth, he would very likely be detected, because today you cannot hide online, no matter what methods you use.

I have some questions for everyone: If you were Satoshi Nakamoto, what would you do?
Would you dare to appear in public?
Would you move 1M BTC and sell for USD?

No, both would be a very bad move, not only for personal safety, but also for the future of BTC.

  • Would you participate in the development and upgrade process of Bitcoin blockchain?

Who says that Satoshi still does not participate in the development of Bitcoin - it would be quite logical considering that his project has achieved global success.

Quote
  • Would you agree to accept the invitation to El Salvador?

Of course not, that would mean that the identity must be revealed.

Quote
  • Wouldl you continue to stay anonymous and observe the development of Bitcoin?

The option that certainly makes the most sense, and I hope that Satoshi (if he's alive) will stick with it.

Quote
  • Would you reveal this secret to your children before you die?

No, children should not have such a burden in their lives, and some secrets should simply be taken to the grave.

Basic questions about this forum / Re: Why do some have 10% awesome.

Do you want this badge with a percentage on it! I guess now you can't as after getting legendary rank you won't see this badge.
~snip~

If he really wanted to have that badge, maybe the admin would grant him that wish and demote him to Hero rank - although I don't see why someone would take such a step backwards. Especially since there are badges that can be obtained by paying for them or by donating to the forum.

At first glance, Finland seems like an ideal country for crypto mining, although it seems to me that there are at least two "problems" for that country to become some kind of "crypto mining paradise".

The first is the fact that Finland is part of the European Union, which at its highest levels has a very negative policy towards everything that pollutes (and EU bureaucrats say that cryptomining pollutes and consumes too much electricity), so I sincerely doubt that Finland would go against the EU's opinion.

Another thing is that Finland is preparing very seriously in the military sense, considering that it has a rather long border with Russia and very negative experiences with it in the past. Regardless of membership in NATO and the agreement with the US on military cooperation and the presence of American soldiers in the country, the risk of a war conflict is still an option that every investor should count on.
