But how to convert L-BTC to BTC? AFAIK, only Aqua wallet do that.

You also can use exchange, although it's not practical if you deal with small amount of L-BTC due to BTC withdraw fees.

And which exchange is that?

I just looked at coinmarketcap.com  and found d nothing

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/liquid-network/

I discovered a list of exchanges here
Only small ones
https://liquid.net/

Best to do is to swap to usdt using aqua

Check this Blockstream help guide, https://help.blockstream.com/hc/en-us/articles/900001387106. But that guide is outdated since few website i checked doesn't show L-BTC as trade/exchange option.
okay reading it now.  I will add to this post in a few minutes

After checking it a bit I would not do L-BTC

If I want to do small btc moves I would do kyc with kraken because kraken will allow me access to its LN wallet.

I would put in $500 usd to kraken
I would buy $100 usd in BTC monthly on kraken
If I need to do small payments of btc I would use kraken LN wallet.

This is a chump change solution with under $500 usd at risk at all times.

I would still have a wallet with my major amount of coin offline

I am well aware that the $500 on kraken is at risk

We know that trading is not for everyone as it entails a lot of learning time so we can be able to manage the risks involved...and not all people have the interest for that. Now, aside from trading, crypto can be good for international remittance or sending a digital asset to someone in other countries with less fees and less cumbersome regulations. Aside from these two, one could get into cryptocurrency as a form of investment - just like gold or stocks - hold them and wait for them to get higher in value. Now, in places experiencing run-away inflation, getting into crypto can be a way to protect one's assets or wealth so crypto can be acting like a safe haven.

Some countries in South America have over 100% yearly inflation.

Venezuela inflation rate for 2016 was 254.95%, a 133.21% increase from 2015.
Venezuela inflation rate for 2015 was 121.74%, a 59.57% increase from 2014.
Venezuela inflation rate for 2014 was 62.17%, a 21.53% increase from 2013.
Venezuela inflation rate for 2013 was 40.64%, a 19.57% increase from 2012.

even holding usdt is better than the numbers above

Just like in bitcointalk, I created this thread so we can observe the mempool.

This images always show the mempool in realtime:

Recommended fees:

Code: [Select]

Code: [Select]

Anyone can use those images, just use the codes above. Data  is always updated.
Nice work like it here and there.

I am thinking price of fees backed off for four reasons.

ETF sell off.
Ordinals reduced.
Btc price dropped
Large Texas mines got back on line. Power was diverted from mines when it was cold in Texas.

This has lifted the difficulty rate and blocks are mined faster right now than last week.

So you could give everyone posting here a karma if you want to. Seems like giving karma is fairly easy to give to anyone. pretty kool.

Basic questions about this forum / How to win the never sleep badge.
« on: January 25, 2024, 05:14:31 AM »
So I read all the badges I have.

I notice no one has the never sleep badge.

Do I need a post every hour for 25 hours to win it?

I figure is must be hard to win one as no one has it.

1 and 4,

About the 1), I only solo mine BTC and BCH. BCH solo mining makes me living (always swap my BCH to BTC lol), and solo BTC is like a lotterie for me.

I had to stop mining Scrypt when most of my L3 hashboards died one by one. I won't complain, they were over profitable but for now I don't want to buy L7. Phil, do you convert your mined LTC + DOGE to BTC or do you hodl doge? LTC looks more and more like a safe bet IMO for the next bull, even if I don't hold any, I think it could give great profits.

As long as I have my current contracts (electricity), I will continue to support the XMR network. I have a pretty massive hashrate thanks to engineering CPU samples. It would be a loss to mine with a 0,1 or 0,08 usd per kwh, but for now I am far from these ranges so I continue. I will have to stop soon as the  price will for sure go up, we will see..

Big fan of the L7 and I hodl the doge I mine.

I made a lot on the doge runup back in 2021

Selling gear and other items. Crypto is really good. I no longer sell much on eBay due to really shifty buyers. But I do sell gear for crypto which offers me protection.  My return rate is way better when I sell gear and other items with crypto.

Thanks Philip,
I wish I could understand why/how crypto offers protection for the seller...

here are two rigs one ready to be filled with cards one filled with cards.

the empty rig is maybe $250-$300 on sale at eBay.
If I want to sell it. Since it is well under $750 value eBay has fairly good protection for the seller if the buyer is dishonest and returns a box of trash.
the rig with 7 cards is around $2200 I am really good with eBay been there for years. If I run into a dishonest buyer for this sale I need to swear out multiple police reports to get protection for a bad return. I can face a Credit card claw back for up to 6 months.

So I simply will not make a sale of the 7 card rig on eBay. If I sell it here or bitcointalk. I would likely sell it on bitcointalk as my reputation is perfect for sales. I would take a return if the buyer wants to return it but I would not pay the guy until I received it. So no one will try to return a box of trash. That is  real protection for me the seller.

Well having sold 1000 thing on eBay with a pretty much perfect record.  I can tell you I have had 10 or more abusive cases from buyers.

People have return boxes with trash and not the actual gear I sold to them.

Simple pool for miners.

Please note you can vote for 6 times as you may be mining all of the choices.

I mine

1) BTC
2) LTC/Doge merge
3) ETC
4)
5) Grin
6) other as I run a hotspot.  So I voted for every one but number 4

524
Solana is used to support hotspot gear. So there is a linkage to POW. and hotspot gear actually does act like pow with its older HNT token and its newer IOT token.  I see Solana doing okay long term.
