Cryptocurrency Trading / Re: Just HODL
« on: January 17, 2024, 09:40:44 PM »
I think the word ''just hodl" means that we should hodl more of bitcoin for the long term and not for us to hodl it for the short term.

Not all crypto coins are good for hodling for long-term purposes because they may end up being a lost investment for their investors. It is preferable to hodl bitcoin for longer than altcoins whose future in the crypto space is uncertain for years to come

But for teachers, nurses and pensioners, for the grocery store at the corner, the shoes shop, the restaurant, the car repair shop... for these people and businesses what are cryptocurrencies good for? What could cryptos be good for?
As a means of payment for them. I have had so many different stories of how store owners, shoe retailers, restaurants, etc use bitcoin as another means of payment for their business. Even in some countries, their pensioners would agree, for their government to pay them in bitcoin if the need arose.

Bitcoin can be used as a store of value, it can also be used in making fast and easy transactions in the comfort of one their without third-party involvement.

They are not night traders. They have no idea what Binance and Coinbase are and they not even think about trading cryptos.
Ordinary people.

What's the point of the existence of cryptocurrencies for them?

How can or could cryptocurrencies serve them?
For ordinary people like we are right? To invest in Bitcoin for the future and to hodl it for a long time until we have our profits made in them depending on when we decide to trade on a particular price.

Gambling discussion / Re: Why You Shouldn't Gamble Trying To Get Rich
« on: January 16, 2024, 10:28:26 PM »
My take on this topic is that whether a gambler sees gambling as an entertainment or a money-making venture, he or she should be disciplined to the point of betting with an amount that won't cause complications in his/her life. Hence, whether someone gambles to get rich doesn't matter as long as he is disciplined.
As a gambler, a disciplined attitude is needed for one to gamble with the amount they can spare without causing a complicated life for themselves.

A disciplined attitude is what many gamblers lack, which makes them gamble more than their financial budget for the week or month, believing that they will win in gambling someday.

When they didn't later win, they began to sell their properties or borrow money from their friends, to make sure they continued their gambling addictions to bet more than they could afford to lose.

Aston Villa vs Everton match is going to be great because if Aston Villa win today's match then surely they will participate in points table position. While Aston Villa topped the points table they are currently in third position Manchester City have taken over their position however if they can go into today's match they can overtake Manchester City. Everton is not as strong a team as Aston Villa is currently so we can say for sure that Everton will lose today's match. But the betting rating is not that high anyway I think if Aston Villa can win today's match then they can definitely occupy the second position in the points table and they will compete with the top placed teams.

After much belief that Aston Villa would win against Everton because Aston Villa had a good performance, they are supposed to win without doubts. They failed to by having a draw(0-0) match, denying them the second spot position in the premier league table.

The match was a disappointing one for Aston Villa because it never occurred to them that Everton would hold them to a draw, considering the Premier League position of both teams. Aston Villa, 3rd position, and Everton on 17th.

The guy was lucky and he might not be lucky tomorrow, that doesn't mean that he did the right thing.
I don't think, there will be a situation that will offer itself for me to risk my house rent for gambling for the chance of winning from it.

If such kind of chance or thought is provided as the only option for me to recover my losses, I will decline it because I can't risk my house rent or money meant for an important thing to gambling that its chance to win is slim.

It is preferable to risk my money for what I know can be successful in a matter of time than risk my money for what, I don't have hope for, that I can have a victory in the short or long term. It will be either luck shines on me for me to win in it.

It was luck that shines on the gambler for the last time that made him win a huge money. Is not that other gamblers can have the same luck, in the same manner after losing all their money on gambling. So many people have bet their last money on gambling and still yet, they didn't win a dollar added to their account.

If we see bull market this year which token will be the best profit to hold. Although risk is higher of newer altcoins but older altcoins are now more dependent. Thinking that buying before the bull market will be more profitable!
A coin that will give her investors profit will do that. Irrespective of, whether it is an old coin or a new coin that doesn't count in the success of a coin.

An old coin can get rugpulled by its owners, even a new coin also. So a new coin or an old coin shouldn't be the avenue for an investor to use to invest in altcoins because the risk in altcoins is beyond imaginary. What should the investor focus on is, the coin I am about to invest in, does it has a solid team behind it, its roadmap and the utility of the project, and whether it will still be in demand in years to come.

Having all these considerations in mind would help one make the right decision about the coin that is worth investing in for future gains. Irrespective of being old or new.

When you see the Bitcoin price movement rising very sharply, you have to pay attention to the fact that the price movement can immediately collapse when bad news strikes, so it's better to remain alert when you have a lot of Bitcoin. Even though you have put everything in Bitcoin, we still have to learn from several previous incidents. This year, the price collapsed to the base price.
For sure, if negative news should strike at this time, there will be a decline in bitcoin prices. However if the crypto market should experience negative news before the halving, it will react badly to it in price but if it is after the halving season, the good news of the halving season would overshadow the bad news that would happen then, making the bitcoin price not be affected by the negative news

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: The impact of crypto on our lives
« on: January 15, 2024, 09:56:00 PM »
I wouldn't say I have stayed too long or too early in the crypto space but I can say that, I have learned a lot from the crypto market, not to be too emotional or be in a rush in investing in it, no matter how I viewed crypto investment to be.

For crypto to change one life, someone ought to be patient and have a long term aim as they take up a journey full of uncertainties that anything can happen(either they lose their investments or they profit from them). Having this kind of mindset would help an investor to know how to make their crypto investment. Whether it is worth having or taking up the risk in it because the crypto market is volatile and unpredictable

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Which coin is the best for future?
« on: January 15, 2024, 09:18:46 PM »
The year 2024 will be a profitable year for altcoin but that will depend on how bitcoin soar in price this year. If bitcoin could skyrocket in price as expected of it, hopefully all top coins "1-100" will all be profitable in price. Although the profitable coins that I have on my watch list are: Eth, Sui, Arb, Matic, Bnb, XRP, and Polkadot.

Hodling and trading them by 2025 will not be a wrong idea because that will be when bitcoin will be giving us a new ATH, and almost all the altcoins will skyrocket more than expected as a result of that.

Basic Questions about Cryptos / Re: Which Alt coins you are holding?
« on: January 14, 2024, 10:52:19 PM »
I'm still new to crypto, and don't have any active Altcoins Holding at the moment, although I've been looking for a coin to hold but I really don't know what coin to hold considering the fact that there are so many scam tokens out there, I've tried purchasing a few tokens but the outcome wasn't good at all so I've been scared because I don't really know what factors to consider before choosing a token to hold.
I understand your dilemma about investing in altcoin due to the high rate of scams hovering around them. However, there are considerations you need to set in between before thinking about investing in altcoins. One is to, invest with spare money, invest in top altcoins, don't put up a high hope on altcoins investment for riches because of its volatile nature, and hodl altcoin for short term

Having these mentioned factors considered, I am hopeful you will feel less scared about the altcoins you chose to invest in or hodl for short term purposes

What advice do you have for beginners who want to invest?
Never invest in a new project because of the hype given by crypto influencers, don't trust projects that promise big returns of profits within a short time because they will surely end up being scams. Invest in a new project that has a small circulating supply, good utility, and profound owners with a real identity. And lastly, invest in a new project because you have done your research on them and you are investing with your spare money.

We all are witnessing a never ending dump in the crypto market as of now, but at the same time this could be an opportunity to get the best cryptos at the bottom low.

As I am quite new to crypto currencies.. can I have your picks of the top coins in which money could be put in, for a holding period of at least six months.

Thanks in advance.
I can give you a good number of top coins to invest in but I can't assure you of how profitable they will be in six months, since you are thinking of hodl them for a short interval.

Investing in crypto is all about taking risks and if you are willing to take the risk, you can start by investing in bitcoin, ethereum, bnb, XRP, or bitcoin ordinal. You can choose for yourself on coinmarketcap.com. But anyone you choose, remember to DYOR before investing and invest with your spare money, not emergency money

The market is experiencing a correction right now and making people panic. Do I buy in this condition? Of course but I don't use all my money to buy. I use the DCA strategy and only a few coins I invest. Just a suggestion, don't use all your money during a bear market.
Are you placing the correlation price of bitcoin to be a price above $42k? As for me, I suspect the correlation price of bitcoin to be around $35k-$38k but I don't know whether bitcoin would have a dip fall to that price before the halving season "April 17". Fingers crossed because we don't know what the impact of the recently approved bitcoin ETF would have on bitcoin price in months to come. Skyrocketing bitcoin to a new ATH before the halving or keep the price of bitcoin stagnant at $40k-$46k till the halving season.

« on: January 13, 2024, 10:21:05 PM »
Gambling with the intention of getting rich overnight is the worse mistake a gambler could ever make, gambling is not a get rich quick scheme and every gambler should have this mind.
Many gamblers have such belief and desire in mind that if they can gamble for a particular time and season, they will become rich. Such beliefs do come to their mind as a result of what they have heard of, gambling making people rich.

It will be hard for such intuition to move out of people's minds because they have already taken gambling to be a way of making easy money, making them deviate from what gambling is all about ''for entertainment''

Economics , Sociology & Politics / Re: Financial stability
« on: January 13, 2024, 10:19:47 PM »
The state of financial stability occurs when an economy's systems for valuing, distributing, and handling financial risks are efficient enough to support economic growth, however in rare cases the opposite is true. One needs to make a strategy in order to lead a financially secure life. "If you can dream it, you can have it," a wise man once said.
As a responsible adult, you must take all necessary steps to ensure financial stability because we live in an unstable world.
1. Establishing a reliable source of income is a must.
2. Acquire an ability
3. Have knowledge
4. Precise and economical with money
You can live a life free from poverty after you have a firm foundation in the things I have just discussed. Many people spend more than their employers do, particularly those who earn a monthly income. Don't live over your means; make prudent purchases.
