What is Dash Cryptocurrency? A Crash Course

Everyone who is anyone is talking about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. However, while it is true that Bitcoin happens to be a fine example of a decentralized, peer-to-peer currency when it comes to privacy, it doesn’t really match up now does it? Along with privacy, the transaction confirmation times in Bitcoin are SO high that it is extremely impractical for day-to-day transaction purposes.

In fact, according to this graph over here:

If you pay the lowest possible transaction fees, then you will have to wait for a median time of 13 mins for your transaction to go through.Evan Duffield realized that this was extremely problematic and thought of a solution.

Evan Duffield came across Bitcoin in 2010 and was extremely impressed by the technology, However, he was not that enthused about the slow transaction speed and the lack of privacy.

He had numerous ideas on how to make Bitcoin function better but the Bitcoin core members would never allow him to do that since that would mean changing the core’s code.

This is why, he decided to use the Core code and make his own cryptocurrency on January 18, 2014.

Dash was formerly called Xcoin which later on became “DarkCoin”. It was eventually rebranded to Dash which is a portmanteau of “Digital Cash”.

This is the team behind Dash:

The Instamine Controversy.

Within the first two days of their launch, 1.9 million coins were mined, which ~10% of the total supply that will ever be issued. Evan Duffield said that this was because of a bug created when the Litecoin code was forked to create Dash which hampered the difficulty.

The problem was immediately resolved and Duffield proposed to solutions:
Dash is a decentralized currency similar to Bitcoin.Dash is a digital cash you can spend anywhere, Released on 18th January 2014, Dash is formerly known as Darkcoin or Xcoin. The cryptocurrency name was changed to Darkcoin in 2015.

« on: June 27, 2018, 05:05:05 PM »
I guess it is really take a very long period of time since bitcoin is still number one. A year from now I think nothing is impossible so I believe it will beat the bitcoin sooner.

Dash Forum / Re: A little about Dash
« on: June 27, 2018, 05:00:49 PM »
Dash (known earlier as Darkcoin) is a very popular alternative cryptocurrency with a focus on transaction speed and privacy. Instead of using a single mining algorithm (like Bitcoin's SHA-256 or Litecoin's Scrypt), it relies on X11 - a collection of 11 algorithms which are there to ensure fair distribution of coins between miners. At the time of writing, it holds a firm position in the top 10 of cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.
Dash is unlike other cryptocurrency projects like Ethereum or Stratis which are more of a development platform. Dash advocates itself as peer-to-peer decentralized electronic cash.

Ethereum Forum / Re: Litecoin or Etherium?
« on: June 27, 2018, 04:50:05 PM »
So as a back story, I am heavily invested into these two coins. Each one of them has their specific uses and I personally think that Etherium can do all the things that Litecoin can do, and then some. Litecoin's primary use is to transfer money from one place to another. You can do that with any cryptocurrency, and ETH offers that option as well, along with the same if not cheaper type of fees as LTC.

Now, they also offer smart contracts which will attract ICO's to use ETH. So with that being said, if you had to portion out 100% of your portfolio with either LTC or ETH, how would you populate it and why? I need some convincing on why I should stay invested in LTC.
Both are good for investment ,but I choose Ethereum because ETH is the second biggest cryptocoin.and has a bright future .

Dogecoin Forum / Re: Is Dogecoin a Good Investment?
« on: June 25, 2018, 02:44:45 PM »
The DogeCoin started as a joke in response to the success of BitCoin and LiteCoin. DogeCoin started with a value of about 0.0001 $ and had made itself about 18 times stronger in a month. DOGE can be a profitable investment option. Dogecoin price equal to 0.00377 USD at 2018-04-13. If you buy Dogecoin for 100 dollars today, you will get a total of 26611.83 DOGE. Based on our forecasts, a long-term increase is expected, the price prognosis for 2023-04-06 is 0.00884 US Dollars. With a 5-year investment, the revenue is expected to be around +135.25%.
I think dogecoin is a good investment if you believe in the fundamentals of the coin. And also Dogecoin’s true value is as a joke currency. Even the creator had no intention of it reaching the level of success that it’s had. There’s nothing earth-shattering about the technology behind it compared to other cryptos.

« on: June 25, 2018, 02:42:18 PM »
Zcash is similar to Bitcoin but it has big different in terms of privacy and fungibility.
I think zcash is a cryptocurrency, uses zero knowledge proofs involving a greater degree of privacy that does even list out the amount and identity of the parties, to the transaction.

Zcash Forum / Re: Zcash Future
« on: June 25, 2018, 02:37:16 PM »
How high in price do you think Zcash can go?
When should I invest in Zcash?
Zcash is a significant development in cryptocurrency or if it’s comparable to just another random altcoin launching.and also Zcash will have enough momentum within the “anon” space to not be displaced. Maybe not. Future is exciting.

XRP - Ripple Forum / Re: Hold XRP
« on: June 25, 2018, 02:25:16 PM »
I have been hold XRP price of $2, just hold back till when?
Ripple is going to be the next big thing after Bitcoins, so better try to hold it up for sometime and see the results. People are saying Bitcoin is a bubble then Ripple is the next big thing people would be talking about in next coming years.
