All alts are related to bitcoin, well, almost all of them. Most of the coins or tokens doesn't have real life connections, so their price is very related with the mother of all coins, which is BTC.

Well, being in a relationship with a coin or token would be the number one. Just because of the name or its roadmap, I know so many people saw the bottom. Do not be like them.

Of course it can. It was already surviving before altcoins. Altcoins are the later investings for the people who heard bitcoin and come to the market.

Believing in a protocol which is being provided by the Ethereum network is not possible. But since I believe in Ethereum network, I also believe this protocol too. So I am going to go with the answer: yes.
