Ideally, one can not just jump into trading without getting the basic fundamentals and principles of trading. Doing that alone is more or less a suicide mission because you will burn  your funds to the least till you have nothing.
Beginners are always advised to take time learn and practice because trading is not a day act whereby one can just wake up and begin practising when you have no fundamental knowledge of how it works. Reading and watching of trading tutorials could help a beginner.
For a start, it is not advisable to trade with big funds but rather little funds that if you lose them, you will have nothing to worry about because you are yet to perfect your skills.

Nice seeing our countrymen doing good translation here. You have done well Sokani. I must say that you have been this consistent on our local board on bitcointalk platform and here you are replicating your good works. I like the fact that hatchy gave you an offer which is very much welcomed.
If we can encourage each other this way, there would be no one left behind. Weldone mate.

As a matter of fact, all centralised exchange now comply with their local laws which requires them to conduct due diligence on their clients as to no know who they are and their locality coupled with other necessary information that will be required of them if the need be.

There is no centralised exchange trading Bitcoin that does not conduct KYC be it a p2p platform, they do conduct KYC as well but what people are just after is the safety protection of their information because as it is with the exchange, nobody knows what they use it for but are trusted to secure our information without any leakage.

Gambling discussion / Re: Don't Borrow Money To Gambling.

Your friend seems not to understand the ethics and principles of gambling. From what you have said, I could understand that he is the type that already have the fixed mindset of becoming reach through gamble but he has forgotten too fast that gambling is a game of two faces, either you win or you lose and the possibility of you winning is minuit compared to the loss aspect of it.

What I would advise is that you tell your friend to always have a budget for gambling because I see he has no self restraint and as such would put all his funds into gambling which is not advisable to do. Already from what he did one can tell that he is an addict with no gambling budget  and as
such, gambles with whatever funds that comes his way.

He should have a clear thought of gambling as not a get rich quick scheme but rather a game for fun and should gamble responsibly. Let him know that.

As a gambler, before going for a day game, you should know that it is either a win or a lose game. Set your mindset that way. Although some may already have the thought of winning that's not bad as everyone wants to win but as a matter of fact, one should gamble responsibly so as to avoid having any issues that would warrant them to become an addict.

Addiction does not just start from nowhere but as a result of indulgence in excess to what should have been curtailed by an individual. For instance as a gambler one should gamble for fun and not with the mindset of making profit or chasing loses. That is why it is advisable to gamble with funds you could afford to lose or better still you make a budget for gambling and when doing it gamble responsibly and for fun.
This would help and guide you through as a gambler.

As a smart crypto enthusiast, you should be familiar with the sayings "not your keys not your coin". This phrase is applicable to crypto exchange as we all know. Holding your coin under your custody is much better and secured because you have access to your private keys which you can be able to recover at any point in time.

You have sole custody of your assets but third party exchange does not and can never guarantee your asset safety. They are not sure of the safety of their own exchange not to talk of their clients assets or in have you not heard of the hack on big exchange and million of dollars equivalent assets stolen from them a ii the ease. These are the reasons why it is advisable to hold your coin under your custody so you do not go through any stress just to access your assets.

I think you having your assets in your private wallet is more secured than keeping them with exchanges irrespective of whatever the case may be.

Gambling discussion / Re: Who has gambling restrictions?
« on: January 06, 2024, 05:30:04 AM »
Most time I will see student whose  are around the age range of 16 complaining on how they have lose their cash without even having good understanding about gambling. While some will give experience gambler to gamble for them. Where as gambling are for people that are matured with good sources of income. That have other things they are doing not putting all hope in betting. We'll know that betting not something you encourage children to engage with.
When it comes to keeping to the restriction of children on gambling, bookies have always abide by the restriction and they do this by ensuring that underage children are prevented from creating a betting account. When a child declares a false date of birth such a child can be held liable for misrepresentation and there are penalties for misrepresentation because it becomes a fraud. For shops allowing children to gamble, such bet shops should either be closed down or the manager should be arrested because State laws prohibit children from gambling. Sometimes, children appear bigger than their age hence it becomes difficult to even tell if the person is below 18yrs and you don't expect a bet shop manager to inquire about every gambler's age and this is one of the impediments faced by bet shop owners in a bid to restrict children from gambling. Also, asking someone to help you place a bet doesn't mean that you are a child. You can be an adult and even solicit assistance during gambling.

I am thinking there is also a possibility that underage children also engaged in online gambling.. I believe that
online casino protocols for underage  could be easily bypassed by them than these physical bet shop because they might recruit somebody to do their KYC for them and after which they continue their gambling and nobody knows what is happening.

I believe this is a major challenge faced by online gambling sites but they can not say it out because they would just assume the account belongs to an adult not having the knowledge that it belongs to an underage gambler who is hiding under the identity of another to gamble on their website.
I was looking at the fact that casinos should look into developing a mechanism to detect an underage gambler with their gaming patterns. This should be able to help fish out those sets of gamblers who are gambling under adult identity.

The risk I took wasn't worth it but that served as a lesson for me. The greatest risk I have taken as a gambler was using a million naira to gamble with the hope of winning 1.2m which means getting only #200k profit. I lost the bet and I came to realize that there is nothing sure about gambling. In fact, place a bet that all the players will wear jerseys for a match and it will surprise you to see the goalie in a singlet lol

Sometimes one needs to take the bull by the horns so taking risk sometimes is not bad but the experience or lessons learnt is what that really matters. Some risk are worth it while some are not but all definitely points towards the type of risk and the possibility of the end results.
Yours was really a risk but just as you have said, it was not worth it looking at the rewards compared with the inputs it does not really equate. I think you must have done this out of confidence you had in the game and I must say it is likely to be a football game you took that risk for having the thoughts of the team winning in your favour  but the reverse was the case and you lost everything.

It is very important and pertinent that one does their own research before engaging in anything they deem fit investing or interested in because that would guide the through in having more knowledge of what they want to go into.

Doing your own research also helps alot because it reveals or unveils the potentiality of one getting involved in scam or fraud as the case may be. That is why when one wants to embark on a project, be it finance or otherwise, they are advised to conduct due diligence so as not to make any silly mistake of making or losing their funds to scammers or amateurs claiming to be experts and experienced guru's.

I will like to only emphasize on karma and merit system, if we could remember that then in those days, there was nothing like merit system even on BTT, but was later introduced because of the realization of things have to be in order, who knows maybe with time also here, things might change and we begin to experience same thing, the more the community here also grows the bigger it becomes and the more people get to abuse some privileges already available for everyone, maybe by then, the merits system may be one of the ways they can use to deal with such menace.

You have spoken well mate but I foresee something bigger than that in the near future because the traffic is coming and I believe the admin and mods are anticipating for the turn up.
Talking about the merit system, I think something different from that would come in play and when that happens, there would be strict measures taken or put in place to protect the platform from being misused or abused by  members as that was the scenario that took place on bitcointalk platform before the introduction of the merit system.

As you know the more the growth, the more things begins to take shape and when that happens, the team  or admin would know the possible measures to put in place to protect the existence of this platform.

As a gambler, there are lots of experience that comes while gambling, some are very much funny though while some come with high risk. In as much as they are, we have had the experience and as such engaged with it in one form or the other.

I personally have not had that much risk because I plan my budget but I can remember back then in 2007 when I had to save my launch and transport money to school to gamble for  UEFA finals and it paid off because I won my bet back then and that was my first win back then.

What risk have you taken in the course of you gambling and how was the outcome of the risk you took.
Let the fun begin.

This post is an old post as far back as 2019. That is 4years ago which should now be obsolete. Why not create a new topic if you feel you want to communicate with respect to something of that nature rather than spamming the board with outdated post from years back which is irrelevant to this current dispensation.

Gambling discussion / Re: Do not gamble in front of children
« on: January 04, 2024, 01:44:26 PM »
As a mother one thing I understood from children is that they don't just look at what are we doing but they are imitators and replicate whatever we are doing after we might have left them in an idle mood or in a lonely place they surely practice everything we are doing, that is why is not encouraging to gamble in the front of our children or having any deal in front them as they will easily pick it up from you. As a gambler it is advisable we don't disclosed any irrelevant secrete to them and remain hidden for their future sake.

You are very much correct. Children are very curious about anything and everything they come in contact with. They do not have that idea or knowledge to know what is bad or what is good. What ever they see any elderly person around them do be it their parents or not they would like to imitate what they have seen and heard and they do not care about the consequences of their actions because they have no experience of what it feels like to do what they have seen.

That is why when ever they are alone, they practice what ever they have seen their parents or guardians doing in their presence. This is the reasons why people are advised not to do everything in the sight of their children because they watch and copy their actions. So therefore, the issue of children gambling must have been the outcome of what their parents or guardians do in their presence and they must have picked it up from them.
